EARLY CHECK IN: December 15th, 2007 - Seven night Western - 12/15/07

...We're all very lucky to have you wonderful women to take care of us. :worship:

I think we need to add this to our signatures, ladies!

[And we think you're pretty amazing for taking time off to take care of your wife and bond with your kids over the holidays...]

If there is a blizzard next week I'm not just going to sit here and watch it snow and hope my trip insurance will cover it, we're piling in the van and driving if we have to, it's only 24 hours to Florida from here.:upsidedow

Go, Stacie, go! Anyone else getting a Thelma & Louise vibe? :car:

I'm almost all packed now except for my pants, but those will be put in on the 13th.

Pants last? Is there a secret packing tip you need to share?

I have offically put Christmas on the back burner and I will do my shopping on Christmas eve and or when I return home after Christmas from my Grandmothers. :confused3 Can't do everything , Right?

Rum cakes from Grand Cayman and vanilla from Cozumel for everyone! :santa:

Jennifer, I knew last night wouldn't be very late because all he was doing was stopping by to see what kind of equipment she has already. She is getting another computer and wants him to network them together for her (this will happen AFTER Christmas). It was the one this weekend that bugged me because like you said it could be a few minutes or it could be hours.

Just over a week to go!!!!! :woohoo:

No secret packing tips. Yes pants last. I wear pants all year round as I'm not a big fan of shorts so well...they won't be clean until then. I have my summery shirts/swimsuit/formal wear and all already packed along with my travel tolietries. At least it is off my list of things to accomplish before the 14th.

As far as Christmas, I'm at a loss. Shaun & I had decided we weren't exchanging Christmas gifts and well...he decided to buy me a diamond necklace. However, what he wants (a laptop), I just don't have the money set aside for since we had decided we weren't exchanging gifts and I paid off parts of the wedding. Looks like he is getting Christmas after the wedding and I feel like a poop.

I just need to order my mother's gc and then the rest is done.

Just got the official count from DD, 8 days till we leave. I go to work every morning lonng before she wakes up so I make it a habit of calling her before DH takes her to school. She gives me the count each morning now when I call her. Not to say that she is excited.

DH did all the Christmas decorations this year both inside and out, and even though he didn't do it like I would, I'm happy they are up and am not going to complain.

My shopping is almost complete, just one more neice to by for and she's just getting a gift card. The cruise and Disney World are our presents to each other so no shopping there. We've stressed that to DD all year long and she's okay with that since she still will get presents from Santa, GM, GP and some of her A and U's. DD and I are going to try and get the wrapping done tonight. I've decided not to worry about Christmas cards this year, maybe I'll send out New Years greetings instead.

DH is leaving over the weekend to go help my Dad. He's got his scuba stuff packed and I'm on him to start getting his suitcases packed before he leaves.

Their forcasting 2-3 inches of snow or more here today. On the rader it looks like we're going to get hit with snow coming in from the west but maybe the bulk of the storm can go to the north of us and visit our good friend Stacie again. Sorry Stacie but the radar shows a large ban of snow from northern Nebraska through Kansas down into northern Oklahoma. We should be getting it here in KC within the hour and it's heading towards you.

That's all right, there is supposed to be another swim meet here on Saturday, can anyone say CANCELLED? I don't think I could get that lucky. I'm just making sure my van's gas tank stays full.

Snow..snow ..snow..and more snow :sad2:

That's probably the same storm that's supposed to hit Indy tonight. We just had about 3 inches. It's even forcasted to snow in orlando next Friday :santa:

we got our first snow fall of the season. it was suppose to be coating -1 inch. We ended up with 2inches. Just as long as it doesn't snow on the 13. Hubby & DS leave on the 22 & have connecting flights, in Washington DC. out of Philly. I couldn't get them a direct flight to orlando.

We had an interesting night last night. First the power goes out, then one of the batteries dies in the smoke detector. Why do they always die in the middle of the night. The last one died in Rachel's bedroom while my parents were sleeping in there. David had a little trouble getting it fixed, the voice kept saying, push test button. Of course, it's the one right outside of John's bedroom. He woke up just after David finished. Oh, and Maggie decided she needed to go outside during all of this too. Lots of fun for 2:30 in the morning!!

I think I finished our Christmas shopping today. We're going to start wrapping tonight, so hopefully we won't realize we need something else.

David has the sniffles. I just sent him to get something to ward off the cold. In one week he has to drive 9+ hours. He's also getting Bonine and benedryl for the kids.

No one is allowed to get snowed in. I'd hate to miss meeting someone I've been chatting with for 21 months.

The snow has stopped falling. At home we only got an inch, closer to two over in Missouri where I work.

We got the word today - President Bush declared Monday Dec 24 an official federal holiday for us non-essentials.   We were hoping that would be the case. We usually get 2 to 4 hours off Christmas Eve but last time it fell on Monday they gave us the day off. Doen't make much sense to open up a building on a Monday for a few hours for just a few.

After DD gets an after school snack we're going to start the wrapping.

What???:scared1: ... Snow in Flordia!!!!:sad2: I 'd better pack some warmer clothes than.

Fortunately, it’ll be limited to just Main Street :santa: Its supposed to be in the high 70's next Friday and Saturday in the rest of the state
Just a little over a week to go.. and the DW hasn't started packing yet :scared1:

Hello All, we were just surprised with going on this cruise last week! Pretty good gift:thumbsup2 It is a Xmass and 10th Anniversary gift from the in-law's. It will be myself(31) wife(31) and daughter(6). This will be our second DLC. We went last year for the land and sea on the Wonder. On Turkey day we were talking about what we were doing last turkey day and remembered how much fun we had on the cruise, so I guess the in-laws took that and ran with it. Looking forward to heading out and getting away from the office!!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Hey all!

Still snowing here, we have about 3-4".

Susan, you can count me in, there is no way that I won't be there. That sentence doesn't sound right, must be the double negative but you know what I mean. What a crazy night you had, did everyone take long naps today?

Tomorrow is homeschool activity day, Andy is staying with my neighbors mom who watches her two little ones. No nursery germs for him.

Patty, congrats on getting the extra day off. It's good to hear something positive about Pres. Bush. You know that here in Iowa we have had our fill of presidenial candidates, I can't wait for the caucus to be over so they will stop calling my house and sending me junk mail!!!

Mike, I would say this cruise is a great early Christmas present. :santa: I bet your daughter thinks so too.

Michael, Does it only snow during the MVMCP parade on Main Street? I just remember it being close to a mosh pit and a lady hitting me with her ECV scooter thingy. I'm going to be as far away as possible this time. I would say there is a good chance that you'll get some snow out of this system, it's headed your way.

Did we ever figure out anything on the hair party for the girls? If I remember right everyone liked the idea but we haven't found anyone that can do hair.

I didn't get my box sent today but the pile is ready to go, tomorrow is the day.

:welcome: BostonMike and family. What a great gift. Your daughter will be in good company, there are other DD6's on the cruise.

Sorry for the double post. I found an interesting thread last night - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1627762. It's set up so that you can donate items from your cruise to a family on the next cruise, or accept items from a family from the previous cruise. We're accepting sand toys from someone on the 12/8 Magic and donating the toys and our Christmas decorations to someone on the 12/22 Magic. Saves on shipping and counts towards recycling! :goodvibes

Welcome BostonMike and family. We have a 6 year old DD also. We did the 7 day land and cruise 2 years ago. It was fun but too short of cruise. Our DD is Laura. hoprfully we will meet up with you at the meet on the ship or at the Mickey pool where we will be hanging out at quite frequently.

Welcome! What a wonderful present for your family!

It's snowed in Florida before. 1989 - White Christmas - 1/2" of snow and EVERYTHING shut down. I was happy because I was little and Santa granted my Christmas Wish.

:welcome: BostonMike and family. I have a 7 year old DD. Did you just find out about the trip, or have you had a while to plan?

Have you ever had so much to do that you're just too overwhelmed to do anything? That's where I am right now:scared1:

What is the address for for the warehouse I may send some things down. If I do I'll have to do it tommorrow.

Welcome BostonMike and family. I don't have a DD6, sometimes I can act like one:scared1: . :rotfl: :lmao:
