EARLY CHECK IN: December 15th, 2007 - Seven night Western - 12/15/07

Ohhh, Christi, speaking of bbq, I went to a picnic the other day, and this lady made some homemade bbq pork. OMG!! Very good. Almost as good as the bbq at the Whispering Canyon Cafe!!

Hey all!

Another busy weekend has come and gone. We got the nursery done this weekend. The furniture is coming on Wednesday. YEAH!!

Friday DS was playing soccer with the neighbor kids and pivoted on his leg. He dislocated his kneecap. It's similar to what he did in January, but then it popped back in. This time they had to medicate him and manipulate it back in place. We go see the orthopedist this week to see if he tore any ligaments or not. Last time he just did some physical therapy, Im not sure we'll get that lucky this time.

Cristi--Have fun with your grandma. Mine passed away two years ago at the age of 96 and I still miss going to visit her. I spent A LOT of time with her when I was growing up and always lived in the same town as her.

Tammy--Is Tenn. BBQ "wet" or "dry"? I never had heard of dry BBQ until I saw a show on the food channel. Basically it's where the seasoning is rubbed on instead of a sauce.

Well, I guess I should get some sleep, hope everyone has a good week!!

Stacie, hope your DS is feeling better. Sorry about his knee. I hope it isn't anything serious.

I will answer the bbq question. At least from my perspective. When I was asking her about bbq, I was asking basically about pulled pork sandwiches. Very yummy with a vinegar bbq sauce.

Hi everyone. We're back from our trip to Disney. It really was a nice trip, taking a slow pace around the parks. DD got to do every single Kidcot Fun Stop in both Epcot and Animal Kingdom. We visited every park except MGM. Not much point in going there when you can't ride TOT or RNR. DD wanted to see Illuminations at Epcot twice.

The weather was pretty nice for us. Monday was quite hot, in the 90's. We spent that day at MK. We actually got there at park opening and left after the SpectroMagic parade. We didn't stay for Wishes b/c we were going to the MNSSHP and would see Hallowishes there. We had lunch at the Whispering Canyon. It was very good and Rachel enjoyed the "entertainment".

Tuesday was an off day. It rained some, but we still got to swim. We ate dinner at Bubba Gumps. I love their hush puppies. They're made with mahi mahi and shrimp.

Wednesday was Epcot. The sky was overcast most of the day and we really didn't get overheated. We rode Soarin' 3 times. DD got to dress Stitch at one of the stores going into the World Showcase. We had a late lunch at Akershus. We found a seat for Illuminations around 7:45. We were in Japan. We thought it was a good spot, but the globe was partially blocked by the pagoda. DD cried aferward b/c she couldn't see the globe open up. (I think she was a bit tired too) That's when we decided to skip MGM and come back to see Illuminations again.

Thursday was AK. We let DD sleep in, and got there around 9:30. We rode the safari, but skipped Kali River Rapids, as again, it wasn't a very hot day. The safari was a bit bumpy. If I had been further along in my pregnancy, I think it would have bothered me. We had front row seats for Lion King. DD got to participate in the song "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". Then we left, grabbed fast food, and headed back to Epcot. We rode SpaceShip Earth and Soarin' before making our way to the World Showcase. This time we found great seats in Germany.

Friday was the NSSHP. We arrived at 4:30. It was quite warm. We rode a few rides and then found something to eat. I think the corn dog bites at Casey's are a pretty good deal. It was a 12 oz. cup full of the bites. I know there were more than 8, but didn't count them. I was full after eating them. Over the course of the week, DD decided that she loved the flattened pennies. I cannot remember the correct name, but it's the machine you put 2 quarters and a penny in and get a design imprinted on the penny. We spent much of the evening searching for penny machines. They also have quarter machines, but we wouldn't do those.

The crowds were light all week, except at the HP. I guess I was spoiled by the light crowds b/c I was a bit disappointed in the crowd at the party. The parade was wonderful though. We saw the second one and had great seats.

Saturday we ate breakfast at Cape May Cafe and played Putt Putt. DD was quite exhausted. We took her back to the room and she took a 3 hour nap. Afterward, we planned to go back to Downtown Disney, but she had a headache. She sent her Daddy for a specific charm for the end of her lanyard and we just hung around the room and relaxed and packed :sad1:

Sunday we left a little after 8am, and arrived home at 7:30 pm. Today I'm trying to get my house back in order!!

Our next trip will be the cruise. It cannot come fast enough!!

It can be dry or wet, depends on the cook. I like it wet!!

Susan--Sounds like you had a great trip!! I had heard that September had really light crowds, I'm glad you got to do everything you wanted to.

Tammy--I've never had the dry, but I can tell you that Iowa pork soaked in BBQ sauce is pretty good. I would think it would be even better with homemade sauce on it (not bottled!).

DS survived the day at school, he goes to the orthopedist on Wednesday morning. Not much else going on except that it is HOT here. 89 yesterday and today, I have the A/C on, I couldn't sleep last night because it was so hot and uncomfortable.

Thanks Stacie. I can't believe how close your due date is. DD wants so badly to know if we're having a boy or girl. Hopefully we'll find out in November.

We've been in Sept. twice. The crowds were even lighter for our first trip, the first week in December in 2004. But DD has a track out in September. We're thinking that after the cruise, we plan an annual trip every September track out.

Hope your DS continues to improve.

Susan really sounds like you had a great time. I might be sorry I'm going at Christmas. I hear it is packed. I want to see all the festivies going on.

Stacie hope your son is ok here is some pixiedust: for him.

My Mom used to make the best BBG, pulled pork, home made BBG. It had just enough BBQ sauce, not to wet, & not to dry. Now her sloppie joes you needed a napkin to catch what feel out of the sandwich. I'm one of ten children so when she made BBG Or SJ she made a big pot full. I mean big. three times the size of a dutch oven. Of cousre every thing was cooked in her BIg pot. She bought it a resturant supply store :rotfl2: .

Hope all is well with everyone.

Not much happening at Queen's house. The laundry area is finally done, it looks great. Now I have to start on a multi per room. Or should I say catch all room. We want to make a living room with it. Stacie send that back hoe quick. :lmao: . My husband said just get a dumster & throw everything away. I can't do that there may be things I've been looking for :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: . You never know.

Everyone take care.

Susan - sounds like a fun trip.

I'm ready for my mini-trip to Disney in October for the Food and Wine Festival and MNSSHP while I'm at home visiting family during my fall break.

Term is over in 10 days. And boy am I ready.

All this talk of BBQ is making me crave a pulled pork sandwich...sadly the choices among Worcester are slim.

:wizard: Pixie Dust for your son Sharon. I hope he gets well soon.

Stacie--hurry up and get us a Dis Baby!!

Tammy, thanks for the pixie dust for DS. Lets give some to Stacies DS also, he needs it more.

Did I tell you i'm going to Florida the 28 of this month. Got a time share for 299.00 for a week. Anyone a Veteran, or know one. They have a site Veteransholidays.com you can get last minute time shares for 299.00 We happened to get one in Orlando. Not going to Disney this trip. If you want one for a certain date in demand the cost is higher. To let a friend go you pay an an extra 49.00 . If anyone sees something they like let me know. If I posted this sorry, I suffer from CRS :confused3

We are having some beautiful weather here in the First state. Sunny skies & just a slight breeze.

Take care

Hi all. :wave2: I had a dr's appt. today. I told him I thought my tummy was too small. I just thought with a second pregnancy, I'd be in maternity clothes by now. Some of my normal clothes are snug, but I can pretty much wear most of my normal clothes. I should be 15 weeks 4 days. He felt my tummy and brought out the tape measure and said I was measuring 17 weeks. We're doing an ultrasound next Wednesday. I plan to check DD out of school early so she can come.

We heard the heartbeat on the doppler. It was 160. That says girl to me. We'll see...

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm looking forward to some Fall weather. It's still too warm here.

Oh...what are you guys doing after the cruise? We're trying to plan our after cruise trip. We just have to be at my parents' home on 12/24 at 6:00 pm. We're thinking of the Wilderness Lodge for one or two nights. We ate at the Whispering Canyon last week and walked around the resort some. Do you guys have any tips? Thanks.

Absolutely!!! Stacie, I am sorry I missed that post. I hope your son is better real soon!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Glad to hear the DIS babies are coming along fine. that is good news. :cheer2: the race is on we know one is a boy, lets hope we have 2 boys. they could be buddies on our future cruises. My wish is you both have healhty babies, boys or girls.
When I was pg with my first child my mother wanted a GD it didn't matter to be. I am blessed with 3 lovley children. God sent one to me to give extra love too. I'm very lucky to have him. He was very sickly as a baby & young child. He is the one in Special olympics. He some times has very bad grand mal seizures. He hasn't has one now in about 4 years. He still has petie seizures. He takes 4 different kinds of anti seizure medications, 25 pills daily to control them. He also has a full time job with MBNA/ Bank of America.

Hope everyone is enjoying the nice fall weather.

Hey all! Sorry I haven't posted for awhile. Thanks for all the good wishes for DS. The orthopedics Dr. said that he has "loosey goosey" joints. If he displaces his kneecap again they'll do surgery to tighten it up. He starts physical therapy tomorrow to build up more upper leg strength in hopes that it won't slip again. It probably wouldn't hurt him to gain some muscle he is such a skinny little pole.

Susan--glad everything is going well with baby. My baby's heartbeat has been all over, mostly in the 140's. He's to the point now where he's running out of room so he's constantly kicking me in the ribs.

We got the baby's furniture, the carseat, and went to Babies R Us the other night. Everything is clean folded and put away. Now we're just sitting around waiting for the big day. I go to the Dr. on Thursday then have to go every week. I'm supposed to be having another ultrasound one of these days.

Melissa--I'm sure it feels good to have the first term done. Only two more to go?

Sharon--The backhoe would get the job done, but you might miss finding something you needed, like the missing piece to the puzzle you put together five years ago, or the lucky penny youv'e been looking for.

Cristi--I haven't read the whole thread you'd linked to. Has anyone else fallen of a pier? :rotfl2:

I think we're just flying home after the cruise. I think both my parents and my mother-in-law would be VERY unhappy if we weren't home for Christmas. We're flying down a few days before our March cruise and doing the parks, and doing Cape Canavarel the day we disembark then flying home on Sunday morning. That trip is less than 6 months away, I need to get my dining reservations done but I'm not sure where we want to go.

Well enough jabbering for now, I should go get something done.

Hi all! How was everyone's weekend? I did the Race for the Cure this morning. I am pretty tired and my legs are pretty sore. I really need to start working out more. We are re-tiling the entryway this weekend so I have a layer of dust all over my house that is at least an inch think. I am refusing to clean anything until DH is finished. I think we will be ordering chinese tonight.

Stacie, no I didn't see any other pier incidents. I did see several curling iron or kitchen appliance incidents though. :)

I am sure we will come home right after the cruise too. I just can't see us being gone for Christmas either. We probably won't get there until the day before the cruise either. I don't want to take the kids out of school for any longer than I need to.

WOW conragulations. I wish I could get tagged just once. Maybe this year. "The Year Of A Million Dreams" Dreaming doesn't mean getting :teeth:

Stacie went through part of the shed today, found over 5.00 just in coins  . There was 6.04 found. :cheer2: . Six dollars I didn't have

It is just hard tp throw things away. My keep pile is bigger then my throw out & Give away piles. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

I was going to spent a week a WDW after the cruise. Have my son, & hubby meet me there. With Hazel passing , & DS Going to China plans are subject to change :confused3

Hi Stacie. Good to hear from you. Even though dd is almost 6, I still remember the end of my pregnancy when she was in my ribs. I'm not looking forward to those days of discomfort.

Cristi, thanks for the link. I've gotten quite a few laughs from it. I've debated putting my silly mishaps there, but I'm not sure if I really want to embarrass myself.

Sharon, I'm dreaming for a tag with you!!

I'll post again after my ultrasound on Wednesday.
