DWTS, who is voting for Bristol?

Her staying reminds me of Chloris Leachman's season and all the people who voted for Chloris. If Bristol gets much further, it will ruin the show. Too bad people don't vote for the skills of the dancer.

Thank you for your replies. I thought there must be an underground movement somewhere. I have similar opinions that are stated in the majority of posts. Some of the responses even make me laugh. Thanks again.

Bristol has Alaska voting for her lol.

It's honestly a shame. She's a nice girl, but Audrina and Rick have done far better in this competition and deserve to still be there.

I think the judges have been way to easy on her. How many times have the judges told contestants that by week 7 they need to step it up? Remember how hard they were on Marie Osmond? She was way better than Bristol. Bristol needs to really step it up, no way was that waltz worth 24 points. At this point the voting is usually for the best dancers not like the first few weeks when it's fan favorites.

I was really upset when she was "safe". She cried at the beginning of the show because she wanted to go home. Maybe that will get people to stop voting for her. If she lands in the top four it would be enough to make me stop watching.

Every season there seems to be one contestant that stays way too long but at this point Bristol has become an embarrassment.

Bristol is the Kate Gosselin of this season except Bristol actually has a nice personality and appears to be having fun and improving. A lot of people were saying the same thing this time last season that if Kate continued they would boycott the show etc.

A lot of people are fed up with the Jennifer Grey, Bradi and Nicole Scherzinger (?sp) etc that are cast when they have clear advantages over all of the other contestants.

I have not cast any votes so far this season and have no plans to start.

Does it really matter?

Every season someone stays longer than some people think their talent should allow. So what? No matter what you think, it's also a popularity contest too. Just like American Idol is. People stay longer due to fans.

It happens every season! Nothing new going on.

This show is about who America wants to see dancing the next week. Apparently they want to see Bristol so that's really all there is to it. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't know why people get so bent out of shape over a celebrity dance contest.

The why is very simple.

You stated it in your last comment.

It's a dance contest for celebs. It's not vote for who had the best costume, who has the best pro, who is the hottest, throw a bone to the most god awful dancer just to keep them around - it should be and only be about which celeb did the best dance.

There is a vast majority of the viewers, some non viewers who just do what ever the figure head of a web board tells them to do, that don't base their voting on the celebs dancing AT ALL.

Like a previous post noted, there are boards out there ralling their members to vote for Bristol, because of who her mother is. Others are voting to keep her around because they think it's funny to keep a bad dancer around. Others really like her pro, Mark and don't want him to leave.

For those of us who truely like/love dancing and want to see celebs who grow over the season, stay and keep growing, it does get very fustrating when dancers stay who have reached their potential and are not going to improve their level of dance. And it's about all parts of the dance. The steps, the emotion, the performance. Bristol has stayed beyond her abilities.

It was very clear in the group dance. Any of us who have been around dance for a number of years, we are pretty good at knowing the difficutly level of dance steps/combinations. The area she messed up on, was very basic. She should have been able to rock it with the pro girls and she didn't. She either didn't know the steps or her nerves got to her and she messed up. Either way, making the mistakes she did effects the dance. As a dancer you fight thru your nerves and rock the performance or you don't and you should have been going home.

That's your criteria but it doesn't have to be everyone's.

.

If that were the case then only real dance judges would decide the fate of the dancers. It's about ratings, that's why they let the viewers vote. Bristol's success on the show is due to the same reasons other people with lesser talent go far.

I like her. And I vote for her because I enjoy seeing people froth at the mouth when she does well. The amount of hatred for her and angst over a silly reality tv show is very humorous.

I love that too.

VERY well said!!

Each week people are asked to vote for the couple they want to see dance another week. They are not asked to choose the best dancers or the worst dancers, but the ones they want to see again.

Exactly!

Agree. Getting pregnant as a teen is not inspiring in any way.

I think being a parent is always inspiring.

We're allowed to vote for who we want to see dance again. Sometimes I have a clear favorite, so that's who I vote for.

Other times, I really dislike one of the better dancers so I vote for an underdog hoping that the person I dislike will be sent home. Case in point... Sabrina Bryan. And it worked.

I love it when a star with better scores gets kicked off because it annoys the judges so badly. They're so obnoxious that I think it's fun to see them get all bent out of shape over it, like when Audrina went home.

Bottom line..... we get to vote for who we want. And that's what we do. If we had to vote for the best dancer, then what's the point of voting?

And technically, its dancing with the stars...she is NOT a star! She shouldn't even be on the show to begin with. I agree, I think its the people who vote for American Idol bad singers...let the worst person win.

Sorry, please name the "stars" on that show...

I can't believe anyone would think that being a teen mom is "inspiring".

I sure wouldn't want my dds to be "inspired" by Bristol. I don't want them to think it's a great thing for a teen age girl to get pregnant and not be married. Do you think it's inspiring for all the teen age girls who end up pregnant or just Bristol?

I don't dislike or hate her but I really can't see where either she or Kate Gosslin are "stars".

I have voted for Brandy this season. She is doing much better than I expected her to do. I wasn't sure if she could pull off the sensual side of dance, but she has done a great job. I don't think Kyle will win, but I do like Lacey, his partner, from So You Think You Can Dance.
