DVD player help

I have finally decided to buy a DVD player so I can watch my DVDs I already own. I heard that Disney movies will not play on certain DVD players. Can anyone help me decide what DVD player to get? I'm pretty much clueless about them.

I have not heard of Disney DVD's having that problem. We have A Sony, it is excellent.
