We always aim for a few choice souvenirs that we want when we travel to WDW or DVC locales. ANd I know there was just a new article about this in the latest mailer. And I know they may not want to pay the licensing fees for the characters....but COME ON!!! DVC has the lamest souveniers!!! I aim for a big mug, a photo album, a picture frame. The three DVC locales we visited recently had the lamest choices. They are going to this new logo at some of the resorts...3 turtles at VB, 3 fish at OKW. But these images are so boring. The mugs with these logos are so boring. The fridge magnets are boring. I love the resort magents that you can put the pics inside of, but we don't get that choice in DVC. ANd the mugs...BC had the best options, but still boring images. My DHs company gives out more interesting freebie mugs at their conventions. Please!!! I wanna buy stuff...and the DVC merchandise left me unsatisfied!

ANyone else feel this way?

What about the OKW picture with Mickey and Donald fishing by the lighthouse?

Even teh DVC watches suck.
This is what I have my heart set on to buy next week. Are they really that bad? I've only seen a picture on ebay. :listen:

OKW had beach towels with three fish on them. The fish were nothing special but the towel was much thicker than the normal WDW towels.

In April, they had the old stuff, which we bought lots of. I am glad I did. :flower:

IMHO Carol save the 125 dollars and spend it on a nice meal. The ones my wife and I got the Fossil ones were terrible mine got water in it and it was only dipped in the sink quickly forgot I had it on. And my wifes has scratches all over the crystal and the band is broken.

Thanks for the advice Charles. I'll take a look at the Mickey watches instead.

They had a very nice navy DVC jacket when I was there last month. It has the DVC logo in full color. I bought a similiar one 2 years ago, the logo was just beige. Pricey though - about $70 or $75.

I don't remember a pic of Mickey and Donald.

And I do love our VB beach towel and bucket that we got for buying-in with the color pictures with characters. But that is it.

The logos on the items in the DVC shops are so boring. I have several large mugs that have the resort pics on them. I would love at least to have the resort pics with the DVC name for the resort on the mug. I would have loved to see the color logo that was on our hats to be on some cool things. (and yes, I remember the cool jackets, but everything that had the color logo on it was dark navy.) Instead there are numerous monochromatic items like the mugs and shirts and such. At least there was a yellow shirt with the mono log on it for VB and a red shirt with the mono logo on it for BW. But otherwise, things seem pretty boring. Like I said, the new 3-themed items that are mentioned in the latest newsletter are so generic they could have come from any resort, anywhere.

The resort-resort items are so fun. I would have totally bought a nice robe with the BCV name on it, not just BC. I would love to see the full color DVC logo on robes and towels and big mugs with the names of the resorts on the back.

One thing we always buy is the "artists rendering" of a particular resort we are staying at. We have a wall in our home with 6 of these, DVC and otherwise. But at BC there is no artist rendering. BW and VB had them.

Just wanted to say that we were disappointed.

I'm always looking for cool (not run of the mill) DVC stuff to buy. Sadly, I never find much.
I guess Disney just doesn't want my money.

Disney auctions (the unit that sells licensed Disney merchandise on eBay) has had these regularly up on eBay over the last few months. Interestingly, unlike other stuff Disney Auctions posts, these jackets are not discounted at all - the "buy it now" price has been $78.00. Many of the auctions have ended with no takers.

I was at VB a few weeks ago and they had a GREAT new graphic of the pool slide on shirts and mugs and a a few other items. I spoke to a manager there and mentioned how great the graphic was, and they needed to put it on as many items as possible. I also hope they use the same style with other iconic elements for the other resorts.

Donald - NO WAY! There was no pool slide t shirt when we were there last week! UGH! I would have bought that just for DH and DD!

I got one of the jackets through Disney Deals on Ebay for $39. A couple of weeks later (after I got mine) they were $29. I posted about this on the community board so DIS board folks could take advantage of the great deal. The only snag was there were only size small available.

A photo album /scrapbook with scrapbook die cuts / stickers would be great. :flower:
a nice thick Beach Towel with each DVC resort name on them, DVC Bath robe, DVC golf umbrella :umbrella: , DVC large coffe mug ( love my dvc metal travel cup)
:scratchin dvc "fun" stuff for kids, kids backpack, kids water bottle, dvc flip flops, sandbucket, beach ball , beach robe :hyper: DVC beach blankets, DVC cooler bag on wheels, mugs that you put in the freezer, DVC wine bottle opener, wine glasses, champagn glasses to toast your DVC purchase or add on :drinking: :crazy2: :teeth:

I really wanted one bad until I saw them. We couldn't figure out how the wrist band worked. It fell off when the CM took it out of the case and we couldn't get it back on! Found a nice one at the watch store on Main St. in the MK.

I'm surprised there are so many bad reviews on the Fossil watches. I wear mine every single day and love it. Dh has one, too, and neither of us have had any problems. Maybe we just got lucky?? :confused3
