DVC Resort Survey

I did the survey. I'd like to see the results.

You had questions regarding access to all the parks except Disney Studios. This should have been one of the questions as well. BWV has the advantage here, while BCV has the advantage for Epcot.

I didn't finish the survey.

It really needs a N/A or "I don't know option" like others have suggested. I have no children, so once I got the childcare question I just stopped. When I couldn't truly compare the resorts, I usually opted to give my home resort the best score...so this survey may be a bit skewed for some whose experience is limited to 1 or 2 DVC resorts.

Ian, would it have been possible to allow the forced rankings to have a greater range than 1-5 to score from. If for example it was allowed to score from 1-10 it would then be possible to score BCV and BWV with a 9 and a 10 respectively for access to Epcot and the other resorts lower down to reflect their positions. Again with child care BCV and VWL could score 9 and 10 respectively, BWV maybe a 6 or 7 as one has to walk the kids to the childcare and SSR and OKW 1,2,3 or 4 depending on how one feels about the issue.

IMHO there are some issues where the differences are so close it isn't fair to differentiate and some issues where one or two resorts are so superior in their choices that a single mark doesn't tell the story.

I had thought about a 1 - 7 scale or a 1 - 9, but opted for the 1 - 5.

This is just the first trial. I've gotten lots of excellent feedback that I'm going to incorporate into the next survey.

Now, start sending me those ideas for surveys. It should be an interest area that would need to be larger than a single question poll.

Some ideas I have are :

• restaurant ratings (I think 1 -5 would be appropriate there, with no forced rankings)
• Attractions ratings

I'm sure most of you are much more creative than I am. It's a powerful suvey tool, so send those ideas on along to me!

Great survey. Don't be concerned about the people that stated that BCV and BWV transportation are "virtually the same". ... They're NOT! If the boat stops at Swan/Dolphin then the next resort before the one you're at, and you're stuck standing, it is certainly NOT the same. This is experience from someone that's stayed by Hospitality House at OKW when it's the last stop before heading off to EMH in the morning!

In response to questions:

• The survey will stay open until 2/15
• I hope to post the results on 2/16

• So far 175 people have entered the survey, but 5 were passed away because they answered that they had never stayed at any of the DVC resorts

• The results so far are VERY interesting. Some of I would have expected. Some, I knew my personal opinion, but is is interesting to see how different the consensus is.

• Keep sending me suggestions for surveys!

Survey Suggestion:

I was wondering about DVC owner demographics. Things like where they live (regions of the US, Canada, Europe, etc.), make-up of the families (children, young, grown, none, how many), types of jobs they have (manufacturing, education, business, etc.), annual income (a range of course). These types of things. I was just curious of the 80,000 families that currently own DVC properties where we fall in the scale of things.

Great idea for a survey! I'm going to have to look through the suggestions and start working on the next one, getting it ready to go when this one closes on the 15th.
