DVC Resales

Just was wondering if you can purchase a resale directly from Disney versus a resale vendor. A friend of mine is looking to purchase 200 points at the Beach Club in the near future.

My understanding is that if you are a first time buyer into DVC, that your only option if buying directly from Disney is at SSR. I have read some recent threads that seem to indicate that even for existing members that the rules for add-ons for BCV has now changed.

If your friend is serious, he/she needs to call all the major resale brokers right now and let them know exactly what they want. There seems to be very few BCV listings available and they go very quickly. There is a DVC member with one for sale on the T.U.G. (Timeshare Users Group) right now. Keep checking that website as well. The link is provided below.

I'm not certain about that... We bought our first DVC contract in September 2003 directly from Disney, 300 BWV points. However, things may have changed since then. I guess you won't know unless you call DVC sales and ask!

If your friend is worried about the experiance they will have buying from a reseller, tell them not to worry. We have bought twice and they were great. We bought from Timeshare Store. We wanted OKW and that was the only way. But unless I was buying SS I wouldn't buy from Di$ney directly.
