DVC Friends... What is your Username About?

:goodvibes I didn't expect such a quick response... and now we know. Cool.

How's your weather? A few years ago you were dealing with horrible drought, now we have been dry for about two months. I think I missed any final TR about your VB trip. I saw some of it. I know you all love it there. Makes me happy for you all. Truly.

What's in your all's plans for the future?

Take care my bestest DIS friend.

starbox and I both joined in July 2006. We both loved VB and just became friends.... She is the originator of the VB Adoration thread.

Weather is hot and smoggy - we've been in violation of federal air quality standards for over two weeks I think. Gross in the city.

Totally loved Vero, we rented the same house for next year and plan to let DD get scuba certified. Still planning to move to VB before 2015. Could be sooner, could be later. My heart is still there.

Quirty was a nickname my brother gave me as a baby (the story goes that they brought me home from the hospital and my brother, who was 15 years older, said, "Look at the squirt." One of my sisters, who was not yet 2, tried to say "squirt" but it came out "quirty." It stuck.) He continued to call me that until he passed away about 5 years ago. I kind of miss it. 30 is my birthday (October 30th to be exact.) I was divorced several years ago and the screenname I had used on other forums for many years was a combination of the ex's name and mine and our last name. I decided I wanted something that was uniquely me - thus I created Quirty30 - thought it had a nice ring to it.

Admin = obvious. All my jobs, no matter what field, involve some sort of Admin.

Jedi = I was assistant to the CEO in my last position and I always worked miracles for him and the company. He told me to make sure to "only use your powers for good".

I've been on the internet for years. Did you know you, that once upon a time you could access the net with a C64? When they were obsoleting that access they sent me info on AOL.

I tried to choose Andrea, AndreaRose, and Andi, but all were taken and I didn't want a numbered variant. So I tried AndriaRose, which was kinda a mix of the old kiddie nickname and my actual 1st and middle name. It was available. I only meant to access occasionally for info (net and especially long distance charges back then were pricey), but kinda got hooked into RPG. After 5 years of being called AndriaRose, I really couldn't seem to see any other name to use. So even when I moved on the name stuck.

Well mine is my name Alan (for some reason I did not include the L) and the 1701 is the Geek in me. That is the number of the Starship Enterprise.

My name comes from another board where I am a moderator. :goodvibes

It's a small site that is designed to help people with "life challenges" enjoy their Disney experience, called mouse-aid.com. I am "pogo" over there but it was already taken here...... so mouseaider it was.

We are also in the process of starting our "Not for profit" organization which I have been appointed Treasurer.

I have three articles published on the home page that deals with coping with life and death and another coming very soon about my buying into DVC experience.

I love disboards for all the knowledge sharing that happens here....:worship:... and I'm afraid you are stuck with me. popcorn::

I'm Steamboat Girlie because Steamboat Willie is my favorite Disney character, and my sister and I both call each other "Girlie", sort of a pet/nickname for each other. It's confusing to my kids though. I call her "Girlie", so they call her "Auntie Girlie". But she still calls me "Girlie". But my kids always say that I'm not "Girlie", she is! :goodvibes

Mine comes from my Grandfather, Felix Monkeyknuckler III, who fought off swarms of capuchins during the Great Cebus Invasion of 1923 in South America.

I was entertaining some customers from our annual conference, and we were at Pleasure Island. Back (In the late 90's), when Pleasure Island was a fun place for adults to unwind and have fun. As we were leaving I bummed into (Literally), another customer who was visiting with some of her friends and family. It truly is a small world after all. Pun intended. Anyway, she asked, "What we were doing, so on and so forth". I jokingly said, "We got asked to leave the club". I told her, "I don't mind getting tossed out of a club", but by a bouncer/doorman in Mickey Mouse attire. That's just not right. I mention to Lisa that the person in the suit told me his name was, in is best gangster voice "Mick The Mouse". When she got back home she told some people in her office about this encounter, and what I had said. To this day, we all remember that evening with a chuckle.

After this long winded story. When I joined the Disboards, the first name that came to me was based on this story. And how mad the mouse was that supposedly (But never did really happen) tossed us out of the club. Hence the name; Madthemouse.

And you never thought that I would get to the "Verb". :scared1:

wildernessDad

wilderness - I love Wilderness Lodge

Dad - I'm a dad and wanted to emphasize that.

I can never remember my user names and for online accounts. :confused3 I have a painting which hangs over my desk which is painted by Albert Swayhoover. He signed it "Albert Swayhoover, '90" hence the name. Helps me remember.

This is fun! I like hearing the stories behind names I see everyday.

I've been on the Disboards for over two years, and my user name just used to be my name.

I had to create a new user name, so I spent a lot of time thinking about it to get it right. Like the good nerd I am, I went to my bookshelves for inspiration. I have a framed print from Alice in Wonderland (book) sitting on top of one of my cases. In it, the Cheshire Cat is telling (or not telling) Alice which way to go. I knew I wanted to try to do something from the book.

Then...I found the avatar I currently use, which I can't even describe how much I love. I tried a combo of words about "mad people" until I found one that wasn't in use, or super long.

So, my avatar actually came first, then my user name :)

We'll actually Woody gave me this name... :)

No but really I used to have my last name as my username and decided I wanted to change to something anonymous. I wondered if it would still be possible to get an original Disney or Disney-Pixar character name on the Disboards and finally after much searching I found to my delight "Bullseye" was available. So now and forever I am the original "Bullseye" on the Disboards. :yay:

Last mane combined with the fact that we have 4 boys. Not very original, but we became DVC's for them, so it fits.:thumbsup2 Really it was for me and DH, but we like to tell them that!

ajf = initials
1007 = our first home street address

I use it everywhere and the last time I tried to get "creative," I ended up with many usernames and could never remember. So once I created this one... it's used everywhere. And we don't even live there anymore!
