Can you tell me if we can get a discount on advanced purchase of the Unlimited Magic Passes? If not, is the DVC discount better than the discount for advanced purchased passes?

No. There is not a discount for advance purchase UPH... and you can not purchase them unless you are using one of the packages Disney offers.

Recently we compared getting the UPH for our 7 night stay with the 10% discount or advance purchasing 7 day park hopper plus passes... and the UPH with the 10% was a bit cheaper..not significantly.. only like 26.00 for our family of four.

and you do not need to have a package. The link posted above explains it well.

I have not done the math, but, I am sure, armed with this information, you can do it. :)

Please correct me if something has changed recently, but it has always been my understanding that DVC members could not pre-purchase the UPH. The only option was to purchase at check-in with the pricing based upon the "resort purchase" rate less the 10% DVC member discount.

Under these two scenarios, the DVC member discount route will be a bit cheaper.

You can save a little bit more if you are arriving late or leaving early. When purchasing the UPH at the resort CMs should allow you to exclude (drop) either the arrival or departure day from your pass. You get one less park day, but if you're not going to be there all day in order to take advantage of the day, then why pay for it???

:confused:Could I ask a possibly dumb question? What is a UMP? (don't see it on Deb's page either)

All of the following are synonymous:

UMP = Unlimited Magic Pass
LOS = Length of Stay Pass
UPH = Unlimited Park Hopper (current name)

It's the pass that gives you access to all WDW parks / locations for the duration of your WDW resort stay.

This pretty much sums it up for me.

Ultimate Park Hopper Passes are available to guests staying at any WDW resort hotel, the Swan and Dolphin, as well as the Downtown Disney Resort Hotels.
