Duped Again No longer a fan of Disney- Resolution page 6

So now we are giving advice on how to get free items.

....
I feel that the DisBoards have now become more of a place to share how to "get one over on mickey" instead of being a place to share how to have fun at WDW.

This is completely out of line. No one is 'out for something free', she just wants what she paid for, a value preferred room at a resort with a pool.

I happen to be the Customer Service supervisor for a company and the advice given is spot on. Someone can always make a problem right or at least go the extra mile to try and do so. I have no doubt the Disney will do all they can to solve an issue if the right person can be reached.

She was sharing "how to have fun at WDW". Obviously, the OP could not "have fun at WDW" if she paid hard earned $$ for a non-existent pool?
(No flames from me, but I felt you were a wee bit harsh on the person giving advice. Peace to y'all.) :grouphug:

I don't know if any of you are aware that Disney staff monitors all the current forums on the internet to see what people are talking about regarding WDW. They don't post at all but pretty much lurk around the various sites. Your praise as well as complaints are reaching Disney execs., believe me. This is not to say that all problems will be resolved, but they are continually looking for ways to improve on customer service.

Wow, just before I read this post my husband was wondering if people watch this board from dis, but as he said they would really have no way of knowing who I am. I am just so thrilled.

Thanks to all the private message posters too!

Not that anyone has even questioned our usage of the pool but we do not have a pool here in western ma and have very few oportunities to swim, mostly due to weather or me not wanting to be accountable for two children with 1 adult. The kids LOVE!!! the water.. I have an infalatable kid pool but it's only 4 inches deep and about 3 ft round. It really is a HUGE part of our vacation. We use it just about every day, maybe even every day, either before or after the parks...and if one child is sleeping it's just easier for us to swap back and forth within your own resort... so glad we can now do that...

happy vacationing

I would be really annoyed if i were you and I would continue to call and insist on being upgraded at no charge to a resort that has a pool. Having to walk and extra even 5 minutes w/ 2 little ones is challenging often. Even if it doesn't get resolved, i hope you have a fantastic trip anyway!

Pinkerbell - I just want to say how happy I am for you that everything worked out! I also wanted to tell you that we stayed at Movies two years ago and loved it! I hope you have a great trip!!

Ok, I have been to Ben and Jerry's no Phish food or Cherry's Garcia.:scared1: What the :scared1: .

Some things are just plain WRONG!!!:sad2:
Have you tried the Creme Brulee yet!!! OMG!!!! It's fantastic, but I have only seen it at the supermarket..

I love these anicdotes (sp?) / comparisons :rotfl:

I will also be staying in a preferred room at the Surf's Up building at the All Star Sports during the pool closing; does anyone know where I can find a map of the All Star Resort complex, so I can tell how easy or hard to get to the other pools? Thanks so much.

I have been to Kentucky Fried Chicken when there wasn't any chicken!!

Charleyann I can relate. We were At KFC a couple of weeks ago, stopped for a quick bite and got told sorry we dont have any chicken. Hubby and I looked at each other and shook our heads in shock, walked out and started laughing at how really stupid it sounded.

Why I love capitalism, if you get sub par service you can not go. I don't mean that in a condescending way, it is how I feel. I for example will never go to Disney again because of their fascist smoking policy. I don't smoke, but I resent the policy that much (as being immoral). There are plenty of other places to go where they will treat you the way you expect to be treated, go to them.

Disney may have set the example, but it has been copied by so many. They no longer have a monopoly. Ironicaly Disney has been copying other parks now to save $. Look what they are doing to the menus and what not.

My next vacation, VEGAS! (or maybe Wisconsin Dells).

The smoking policy is immoral? Huh?

Thought I would ask this question for you as we have been before and I have never noticed a way to get from resort to resort. Of course, I wasn't looking for it either.
How do you get to the other pools? Can you cut through the parking lot, is ther a path from resort to resort, or must you walk to the front of the blg? Is there a sidewalk??

Hope this helps...
good luck and enjoy your vacation

NO flames from me OP...I agree with you completely. AND if it is off season then there should be plenty of rooms elsewhere to accomodate your preferred request and additional payment of such request.....It's getting to the point that I feel like spending ALL my hotel dollars at a UNIVERSAL hotel and taking a cab to disney for a few days instead of the other way around.

And, Disney exec type lurkers....I hope you hear that too!

I've been to a Burger King and they didn't have any burgers! But they also didn't charge me for a burger...

I would be devasted to find out the pool was being refurbished and would be closed if it were me. I just have a feeling that guests should have been notified by phone (call me crazy) but to get something in the mail, would really peeve me. Yes, you are going to be at Disney, and yes that is a beautiful thing, but even at the value resorts you are paying a pretty penny to stay on property. It is a good thing that other pools are available at the sister resorts, but if it were me I would still be upset. I think Disney should do everything in their power to compensate or upgrade when such a great part of most people's trip with kids is being able to use the pools. And I wouldn't want to have to walk to ASMusic or ASMovies to have a pool. They should provide shuttles every 20 minutes.:lmao: I have tickled myself with that, but just sending notice through the mail and not being able to get satisfaction is unacceptable. Where has the CUSTOMER SERVICE part of the Magic and Pixie Dust gone too? I hope the OP can still manage to have a good time and wish all the Pixie dust on their trip.:wizard:

I am glad that you had a positive resolution to your situation. I think sometimes if you try to talk to people, ask to speak to mgmt if needed and just let them know the situation, they will resolve it for you.

I've been on 3 week long trips to Disney and (knock on wood) no issues. I say that now my trip in Oct will be bunk LOL

When I posted we had been moved to ASMo, I was not sure if we had been moved to another prefered room or not. I was just so excited to be back at a resort with all pools fully operational I was happy. I did get online and check our reservation and sure enough, we are at ASMo in a preferred location!!!
I will be sure to send a letter acknowledging the wonderful service I received from the woman who helped me, I have noted her name.
I have to say that Disney has improved 100% over last yr in handeling this situation and I will be a much happier guest beacuse of it. After all who wants an unhappy guest holding onto their wallet for two weeks of vaction :rotfl:

thanks again and happy vacationing

I am so glad that everything worked out. It must be Disney Magic!

I think that over all resorts at WDW are awful. They rely heavily on their design and decor and their service is attrocious. Last time there I arrived at 8am. Room not ready, obviously it shouldn't be, no biggy. 5pm, room not ready. Luggage not available.

I'm standing in the lobby asking how this is possible, people are being assigned rooms all around me, I was there at 8am, how is this ocurring? Manager has no answer, my room is dirty. I didn't want a specific room, just a room, not preferred so at this point I'm very puzzled and frustrated. I phoned their customer service department in front of the manager on my cell phone and told him its a race to see who can give me the worst customer service. I'm obviously being very rude, but I don't care. My call gets routed as he's talking at me about this and that. They got me a room within about 3 minutes, called the hotel and gave them the number to give me. I was surprised, didn't really expect that.

Of course the luggage was missing until around 11pm but I had a carry on with everything I needed as I know this can happen and it wasn't a big deal. What made me so mad was how useless this guy was. I've worked in service in the past in management positions and I don't see how he couldn't make something happen.

The OPs pool experience is similar. He paid for something, as did I, and it was not given. Now, for those who think that I over reacted, I"ll pose the same question to you I did to him, will they cut me any slack if I choose to check out at 4 in the afternoon or whenever I feel like it? I doubt it.

I only see this kind of awful service in the Disney resorts in Florida. I've been to 3 of Disney's park areas and only experience it there and its uncommon for me not to see someone in the lobby with a similar problem. I believe they have a training or implementation there that they choose to ignore.

To be perfectly clear - the OP posted resolution to her concerns four pages ago. I guess lots of people have been missing that.

She got what satisfied her - moved to another resort, in a preferred room with pools that are open.

:)
