Dumb Question About Eating in Disney.

Ok this might be a dumb question. We are going to disney next week and want to eat and pay as we go. So we aren't on any dining plans. I was looking at the menus for some of the counter service places. Can I just buy a buger or do we have to get the meal that comes with a side? Just wondering b/c I can order just a burger at McDonald's or Buger King. I'm not a huge eater and don't want to share a burger with my hubby or son. I really don't want a kid's meal since I don't want the side. TIA.

Not a dumb question at all.

I made SEVERAL trips to WDW before I realized I did not have to order a "meal".

You can order only a hamburger,only an order of Fries,etc.
