Dryer Lint Filter

I'm the only one who uses the dryer here. I clean it before each load. It's just automatic to me that way. I clean it before each load even if I'm doing loads back to back. If for some reason I'm using a public machine (or someone else's machine), I'll check/clean it before my load and also clean it after my load.

Explain to her that cleaning it after you dry a load IS ensuring that it is clean BEFORE you do another. She's taking it too literally.
I've told her. But she insists that is says before so she is going to do it before. Of course in most cases there is nothing to clean because I have already done.

Only if doing multiple loads at once.

No, at some point you will dry another load. So anytime you check it between loads is after one and before another.

If I check it right after one load comes out, I'm checking it after one load and before another. Even if the next load is not yet planned.

If I check it some day where I'm not even doing laundry, I'm checking it after one load and before another.

If I check it right before I start to dry a load, I'm checking it after one load and before another.

The only exceptions are the very first time and the very last time you ever use the dryer.

Before. It frustrates me when I find a very full lint trap that clearly hasn't been cleaned by my family.

I clean it up after every load though I'm the only ones who uses it in our household currently.

It's never actually occurred to me to check or empty it after a load, it's always been my habit to do that right before I start the dryer for a new load. I really don't think it makes a difference, as long as it's done consistently. (I find that it usually only needs cleaning every 2-3 loads, but I almost always check it before each load just in case.)

In 19 years of owning our own laundry machines, I can count on one hand (with fingers to spare) the times that anyone besides me has used them, so I think I can do it which ever way I please, lol! 😂😂

For me I think it was the years of living in an apartment or doing laundry at the laundromat that makes me always clean it after a load. The common courtesy (and community rule) to clean up after your self (not that every one followed this "rule")

That's very true. I'm not sure I was great about doing that in college, mostly because I had never really been taught to empty the filter at all. I think DH mentioned it at some point when we were in a laundromat together, I had never thought much about it before then. I actually did a good amount of the family laundry in high school, but I guess my parents always came behind me and cleaned the filter without bothering to mention it to me. Kind of like how they never mentioned that getting an oil change was "a thing". That one ended badly, lol!
