Anyone live in cold climates and get really bad dry skin? I'm contemplating moving to a warmer climate, getting tired of this.

How bad are you talking? I do get very dry skin, yet not enough to make me contemplate moving!! But I am in the mid-Atlantic states area. I guess if I was in a harsher climate, it might be worse for me.

Nothing deadly but you can clearly see on forearms and sometimes face that I have dry skin.

Dudu Osun soap is your friend. I have horribly dry skin in winter and my coworker suggested this soap. I get it on Amazon. It is black and is amazing. My skin has never felt better. Some sites say it is for african american skin care but I am as caucasian as can be and it works like a charm. I love this soap!!!

Every night after I wash my face I put a pretty good coat of vaseline on it. Been doing that since I was about 25 and my face started to flake. I haven't had a flake since. I'm not a pretty sight at night though!

I live in a warm dry climate and still get dry skin in the winter. If you're trying to move away from it, be careful where you move to. Maybe a more humid climate would work, but I bet the summers would be miserable.

"Warmer" climate? I live in southern California (I believe that's a warmer climate location) and I get dry skin in the winter, also.

As noted, a humidifier helps. And I use lots of lotion/Vaseline.

As soon as spring rolls around, my dry skin is gone. And I don't get it again until the cold dry weather comes in. So yes, perhaps a more humid climate is in order. I know whenever I go on vacation to warmer destinations, my dry skin is gone about halfway in.

My skin gets so dry on my face, it peels off like it would after a sunburn. I started using First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum (along with my usual FAB face wash and moisturizer) and my face has made a complete turn around in just a few weeks.

I also use FAB Ultra Repair Wash and Ultra Repair Cream for my body.

FAB is a little on the pricey side but this is the only product that does not upset my very sensitive skin. You can also find it at Sephora and QVC.

I've used their sunscreen on my face with great success!

Me! Me! I have dry skin in general, and eczema on my hands, both of which get exponentially worse in winter.

For my hands, I alternate between Eucerin, Aveeno, and Avon Moisture Therapy. I find that changing lotions/butters each time works better for me. Maybe alternating different ingredients made a difference?

For face, I use Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream. It's a little pricey, but you only need to use a little at a time. It absorbs completely, quickly, and isn't greasy. FYI: the "Gel" has a sweet, flowery scent to it; the "Gel Cream" is unscented. My first time buying it, I wasn't paying attention and got the Gel. I had to give it away and get the Cream Gel!

We have a humidifier though we had to turn it down a smidge when it caused condensation on the windows. FWIW my hands (especially my knuckles) get very very dry in the winter but the rest of my body not so much. I'm going to pick up some vaseline at the store this week while I'm doing my other grocery shopping. Lotions just aren't cutting it at this time.

I get terrible dry skin too. We bought a whole house humidifier last year and it works wonders. Highly recommend. It also makes the house feel warmer because of the added humidity.

As far as skin cream, I have actually been using olive oil! Yup EVOO. I had a friend who lives in Italy mention it so I figured I would give it a shot. I use it on my hands and face...morning and night, and I cannot believe how good it works. Makes sense when you think about how it is a healthy oil for your body, high in vitamin E and part of the Mediterranean diet. And no...I don't smell like a salad. It absorbs really quickly.

So all those years of fancy lotions and creams and the one that works best for my 50 year old skin is plain old EVOO.

I have terribly dry skin all year round, winter is worse though. I manage it by staying hydrated, I close the heater vent in my room in the winter and I stay moisturized. I use Neutrogena on my face and Nivea on the rest. I use a tea tree based lotion on my feet.

That gel does nothing for me... I've used a little, a lot... nothing. I find if i use that and cetafil my skin feels better.

Must be like my hands, cominations work better than just one product. Although, I don't blend them at the same time. Might have to try that!
