Driving.

Drivers ed here is 8 classes. That's 8 four hour sessions. So, 32 hours inclass. And there's 10 incar lessons. One has to be at night. There's a test I need to pass, and I have an extra lesson before my drivers test.

For us we take Drivers Ed for a marking period in school...where you take the test at the end of the marking period and you need at least an 80. Then you have to wait for your 16th birthday to get your permit. At 17 you can get your provisional license but you need at least 6 months driving with your permit. At 18 or a year of driving with your provisional you just go in and get your real license.

I have my provisional, I got it on May 11th (my birthday). No accidents...some close calls but really werent close just didnt see something and it was there and it freaked me.

getting a license in tennessee is so easy. you have to have someone sign saying that you've completed 50 hours of driving (10 hours of night time driving) and then your driving test is, pull out, turn right, merge, turn left, turn left, turn left, veer right, turn right, turn left, park.

its so easy. when i took it the only thing the guy said was to make sure i looked to see it was clear when i merge.

WOW!! Michigan is so much different than what i'm reading!! I took segment 1 of Drivers ed when I was 14 yrs, 6 months. Then, when I turned 15--my birthday--I got my permit. I had to have 50 hrs of driving, 10 at night--which I finished early. I took segment two last year, in march, then I got my drivers license on my birthday last year! I've been driving now for almost 8 months. In michigan, when you get your license, you can drive alone! I absolutley love driving!

The driving system here is @ 16 you can take a written test to get your G-1, with that you can drive with a person whose had their full license for at least 5 years in the passenger seat. Then you can either do driving school and go for your G-2 8 months later, or skip driving school and wait a year to get your G-2, with you G-2 you can drive alone, drive on highways, but can't drive with more than one passenger after 12am or something like that...and you blood-alcohol level must be 0.
Then after a year of having your G-2, you can go get your G, which is your full license, the only difference being the amount of passengers you can have, and you must have a blood alcohol level that is at or below the legal limit.

I've had my G-2 for...almost 3 years, I have until 2010 to go for my G or else I have to go back and do it all over again. My bf just got his G yesterday, I could do it tomorrow if I wanted but it's just pretty much laziness. lol

I drive all the time, I have to drive to and from uni everyday in the school year, to and from work, to and from friends houses--as I don't live in the same area as most of my friends. I don't mind driving all that much. I really love driving in the country. When I go to my best friends house, it's an hour long country drive---it's wonderful though I love it. And when I go to my BFs uni campus, it's an hour long country drive and I absolutely LOVE it--especially in the summer :goodvibes

For us you can get your permit when you turn 16 and your license when you're 16.5 You have to take 30 hours worth of classroom work, 12 hours of driving with an instructor, 6 hours of observing, and 40 hour of supervised driving. Your parents also have to go to a 3 hour long class. The only way to get out of all that is to wait until you are 18 to get your license.
I think its way to expensive to get your license. I dont know how some kids can afford it. So far it has cost me almost $1000.

I don't mind driving. I haven't driven alone though because I don't have my offical license yet. I am going for my road test next week though!

Here, it's so easy. At 14 you take a written test and get your permit, which means you have to drive with an adult in the car. At 16 you take the driving test and get your restricted license, which means you can drive by yourself but if you get pulled over even once your license is taken away. At 18 you get a regular license.

The driving test is SO easy. You pull out of the parking lot and go up some rinky dink hill. Turn right. Turn left. Turn right. Pull into parking lot again. It's a residential area with tiny dirt roads on the side of a cliff, that's the only thing that could be thought of as difficult.

Permit at 15, and lisence at 16 is what the system is here.

Im done with driving now. I never want to drive places anymore! Every once in a while I won't MIND IT (its not like im excited about it tho) but mostly its just like.. "yeah whatev"

I wish I lived in a state whre the permit age was 14 or 15:headache:

Your laws are much more relaxed than ours. Other than the 8 month rule, which we're switching to now.
We can only drive up to three passengers, and blood alcohol has to be zero until the age of 21 (which is stupid because legal drinking age is 19) and all passengers must be sober (so screw the designated driver?). We also can't drive between 12 and 5 am until 18.
Most of it doesn't apply to me, but it seems silly.
I believe because I did drivers ed I skip to a full graduated license when I pass my onroad test.

Here in AZ you get your permit at 15 and 7mo. You have 5 months to practice driving. I took drivers Ed and Behind the Wheel. I just turned in my hours to the guy at the DMV and I got my license. It felt too loosey goosey IMO. We have such bad drivers around here!

Let me get this straight.
No test?
Because that does seem too easy.

I have my license..or provisional license.
I like driving, it's ok. I prefer to drive as little as possible because I have to pay for my own gas.

Well the Behind the Wheel class is the 'test'. You go out with a retired policeman and he tests you on everything. You get the slip and take it over to the DMV

The worst part was learning to actually drive. My dad was not helpful with this at all. Everytime I made a mistake he would freak out, which made me nervous and I'd burst out in tears. So anyone who is experiencing that, just tough it out and don't give up. :)

It's really hard to learn with your parents. They're more worried because they're your kid, and it's their car. Also drivers ed people usually have their own break, they can control the car if they have to. My dad does the same. I cried the first time I went. My mother, it's fun because she freaks out, but more out of fear than anger. So I just chuckle. Because I don't go with her a lot, she doesn't know I know what I'm doing. She doesn't know I can get myself outta some situations.

I got my permit the day I turned 15 1/2 and I got my license on the first try the day after my 16th birthday. && I only missed one point of the test. (:

Anyways, driving is fun. I love driving around my town with my windows down and the music loud. I guess it kind of makes me feel free. Freeway driving is ok I guess. I love driving fast but I get so paranoid that something bad might happen thanks to my stupid driver's ed. teacher.

I'm not a bad driver. However I am still inexperienced so it drives me crazy when my boyfriend or my mom make fun of my driving. I'm kind of an agressive driver too. I get mad so easily and I hate when people drive stupid. It bugs me to no end.

My dad's really unhelpful too, and my mom doesn't drive so I have no choice but to drive with him. But I don't get upset when he yells at me, I yell back and then he yells more, lol.

i havent gotten my license(im 15) but i think im going to wait until next summer to go to drivers ed cuz all of my friends are bearly turning 15

When I was learning, my dad was way more helpful than my mom. Everytime I would brake she would do this *WOAH*, and I would end up yelling at her. It got to the point where I couldnt even be in the car with her if I was driving. We don't get along...
