Dressing the Part ? ;)

Does anyone "cute" up their outfits as adults? I don't mean dressing like a character. But do you go in a Minnie-ish theme: red polka dots or red shoes with bows, etc. but pulled together from everyday clothing? What about a turquoise ensemble with green belt, etc. that's along the lines of Ariel's colors? Anyone do anything like that?

I'm thinking along those directions but am looking for a bit of inspiration!

I'd love to see photos of anyone's creative outfits that are like this!!

Good question!! My twin sister and I are 28 and were also thinking of maybe getting some material like minnie's and making a top or something, but we weren't quite sure whether we would look silly or not:laughing: I have never seen any other adults dressed this way on my last two trips but if anyone has any pics of custom made disney outfits they have worn I'd LOVE to see some and get some inspiration!!!

Oh that's a super neat idea! I love it! I just have no ideas.. lol! :upsidedow

I have never done what you are describing, but I do have Disney clothes/accessories that I wear (shirts, hairclips, etc).

Sound like you will have fun doing it, so why not?

What about these?! They'd be cute and Minnie-ish:

They're supposed to be comfortable, too.

I'm not sure that this qualifies as dressing the part, but my wife takes great pains not to mix here genre's. Things like no Mickey earrings while wearing a Pooh t-shirt.

I don't know if this counts since I wasn't dressed as a character, last year for our Ohana breakfast I wore a green skirt with palm trees and topical flowers on it. I will wear something this year but the skirt is pink this time. :cutie: I call it my poly skirt.

My friend and I just got back from WDW in June. We made tank tops that had Daisy and Minnie on them and said "Friends Forever". We thought it was really cute and got some really nice comments about them. Also, we felt that it was subtle enough but would also make us stand out and profess our love for Daisy and Minnie! haha. :)

This is not a big thing, but I did 'add' a red/ehite polka dot belt and matching shoes with my white capris and white top. I wore this to CMs. The family wore hawaiin style clothing to Ohana. (the girls had a flower in their hair) we all wore a little lei.

A little can go a long way.

Last year saw two 30ish women wearing tiaras... I had to smile... they looked like they were having a great time!

YES! That's exactly what I'm talking about! Cute!

Any pics, anyone, of great outfits or outfits you felt Disneyish in?

I think I've come up with some safari suggesting pieces for AK. When I get that far I'll take pics.

Hi again,
I have some tops in mind that I'm going to try and make, just a simple summer swing top in some Disneyish material (if I can find any here in Australia!!) then I'm going to decorate them somehow...I think I might do a black swing top and sew red buttons in the shape of Mickey heads around the bodice area and maybe around the hem also. Just a thought at the moment, not sure if they will turn out okay. I'm going to go to the material shop this weekend and see if anything inspires me so and I'll post some pics if I can make anything decent!!;)

I seriously wish I had a picture of my then 18 year old daughter on our last trip as she sat next to this little girl on a park bench who was dressed up as one of the princesses. My Kaitlyn had this look of envy in her eyes. She seriously looked up at me with this look of "I want to dress like a princess". They just didn't dress-up when I took them when they were little. I love seeing how the little ones dress up these day and love to see the adults enjoying it as well.

I've been known to do a little dressing up! :cutie: I wear a tiara in the Magic Kingdom pretty often. I also wear all my Disney shirts. This is my favorite (from our honeymoon!)

Then of course there was the Pirate and Princess Party......

Bump.

Any cute pictures from people getting back from their trips??? WHERE is the photo board (can someone post a link, please)?

So I was thinking of doing something very similar to this and my DH thinks it's hysterical. I bought all my boys (including DH) matching Mickey ringer tees and got a Minnie one for me. I just found Phineas and Ferb t's for my boys but am looking for adult shirts... perhaps Perry the Platypus?? The online store only has youths and I doubt I'll lose THAT much weight by then. Anyone know of a place I could order?

I like to dress the part. This is the only place I can get away with dressing up in Disney as an adult for a whole week.

:jumping1:

Yes, I even "cute up" my DH and son! Just the other day I purchased Luau shirts for them and we are now planning the girls outfits to match. Our trip is 436 days away. A little excessive I know. Still in pictures with everyone being "themed out" and matching a color scheme we look great. Disney is my favorite place to get family pictures because everyone is happy and not having a forced smile. Cute up and have fun!

All of those sound cute!

I'm having "brain freeze" on clothing for me....I have all DC's clothing decided and DH as well. But I want to be comfortable, cute, not too hot, etc. and so I think I'm going to have to just start putting it all out on the sofa to see what "speaks" to me.

I thought there were photo boards somewhere and I hoped I could get some inspiration, but I can't find the photo boards... Any help?

An OP CampbellScot went to the Pirate and princess part in a yellow skirt to the knee with layered blue and red tank tops so it was Snow White themed but not costumey. I thought it was a great idea for still looking normal but also participating in the magic!

I dressed up a little for P&PP just because if there's any place in the world I could, it was there. I would wear the same top combo with jeans and a red headband if I thought about it.

I got lots of comments on the outfit. Snow White and her PhotoPass photographer loved it!
