I'm booked in 8664 but I noticed on deck plan it seems very close to aft elevators. Just wondering how much noise there will be. Not sure if I should switch rooms. Any suggestions? TIA

I'm booked in this cabin on the August 28th sailing and I'm interested in knowing this too.

My family is booked in 8666 and 8668 for this October. We have a little one so we like being closer to the elevators. I can get to the drink stations quicker for that sippy cup of milk and juice in the morning before room service starts. :thumbsup2

I am wondering how noisy it might be being so close to elevators.

If your concern is 'hallway' noise, I've found that a stateroom in the middle of a long hallway has more disturbances than one near an elevator. (Something about a long expance of hallway seems to prompt running and yelling!)

Are you concerned about mechanical noise from the elevator itself? I've never known that to be an issue on the classic ships and would doubt that it would be for the Dream either.

We're booked into this room for the October 14, 2012 cruise:cool1:. I look forward to any reports as well.

Mainly concerned about the foot traffic around the elevators/stairs.

The elevators are nicely put on the DREAM. Hopefully this will make sense... they are in their own hallway, not just across from the room. Like in a hotel, you would walk out of your room with the elevator right across.. on the dream, you walk out of your room, there would be a blank wall across from your room, then you have to walk to through the entry way and around to get to the elevator. hmm.. that doesn't make much sense... does it.. anyone wanna help me explain it better. :confused3

We were in 8678/8680 (so down the hall a bit) and very few people turned when we did off the aft elevators.

I can tell you there is nothing on the 8th floor but staterooms, so there won't be much traffic except going back to the room. Also the inside staterooms are on the port side of the ship in the aft, so that will cut down the traffic as well.

If you are looking for definite pros: the Dream needs to back into Castaway Cay, so you will have a view of the activities side of the island, and be right at the aft, so getting off the ship you are right there!

Also, the aft elevators really do not lead to much: Animators Palate (although most people were taking the mid-elevators), Cabanas (so it can be noisy in the morning, I guess), Remy/Palo's (some adults may make a lot of noise), and the gangway for Castaway Cay.

Thanks for the info. Looking at the deck plan I thought that was a wall across the elevator so it seems the noise should not be bad at all.:thumbsup2

Last month I was in 9560, which is very close to the midship elevators. Didn't notice any noise from the elevators or stairways.
