Is there a database or diagram that shows which cabins have the murphy beds in the cat 4 cabins on the Dream?

I have 2 younger kids and would perfer that they sleep on lower beds, so I'm looking for the configuration with the sofa bed and murphy bed. I don't see it listed on any of the ship layouts and couldn't find it on a search.

I thought on the Magic/Wonder they all have murphy beds but I've found that is not true on the Dream. We had our cabin reassigned on our last cruise because originally it did not have one.
Thanks!

I am thinking you may be confused on what they mean by "murphy bed" on the Dream. You mentioned them being on the Magic/Wonder, but they don't have them at all... what they have is what they call a pull down "berth bed". It is above the couch on the wall, and besomes like a bunk bed above the foldout couch. These pull down berth are the rooms on the Dream that sleep 4 as well. The Murphy Bed is another bed that folds down out of the wall to the ground by the window, making 3 sleeping areas for rooms to handle 5 people.

I just re-read your original post, and saw you are mainly wanting them to be able to sleep on bottom. I haven't seen anywhere that lists the rooms with murphy's specifically. They say "most" Cat4 rooms have them, but they are specifically for families of 5... even though not exclusively for them. YOu may just have to call DCL and tell them your room and ask if you have one in your room. Good Luck! :thumbsup2

Our room 9636 had the " murphy bed" we also could not find any way to determine which rooms had what layout. We were told my our stateroom host that the dream does not allow children under 6 in the top bunk. Our daughter is months shy of 6 and has slept in the top bunk on the Magic, she was very upset to find the top bunk not put down on the first night, but we were able to get them to pull it down for her. I would suggest calling Disney and asking them if they can tell you what layout each room has. Also another family we were traveling with thought their room, which slept 3/4 had the top bunk but it was only a sleeps 3 with no top bunk. So it seems information is hard to get and not always correct. Good luck.

Well what do you know... there are murphy beds on the Magic/Wonder! In the Cat4 rooms, they have them. I have never stayed Cat4 on them so had no idea. :)

Still no luck finding more info. I thought I had a thread bookmarked from someone who went on first cruise and they listed tons of info, pics, etc about individual rooms, but I can't find it <sigh>

Thanks for the help....

My kids (twins) just turned 7 and we've always had the murphy beds (twice on Wonder, once on Dream).

They would probably handle the upper bunk just fine, but I'm trying to avoid a potential problem. Without a murphy bed, I envision 1 of 2 things happening: 1) fighting over who gets the sleep in the upper bunk or 2) both claiming to be too scared to sleep in the upper bunk.
Having the murphy bed avoids the problem.

I got a quote from DU this morning and they said that there were no cat 4s with murphy beds available for the trip we were considering. Now I'm trying to research some more. I doubt we would not go or shift to another week because of it.

I think my best option is to see what DCL is listed as open and check them versus the stateroom reports, which seems kind of tedious.

Any chance DCL would be holding back on giving us those rooms incase a family of 5 or a family of 4 with 2 under 6? Quite honestly, it would make sense to me if they were. My kids "should" be old enough to handle it.

I have no idea how DCL works, but from word of mouth it seems like the CM's dont even know the layout of each room. You can go to the web page and try to book 5 people in a room and if it takes probably it has the Murphy and the pull down bunk. If it only books 4 then one of the beds is missing but there is no way to know which one. I dont see why is this day and age they dont have the exact details of every cabin. Best of luck, hope everything works out.

You are a genius!

For the week we are looking at they are putting a party of 5 into a 1 bedroom suite (not paying that), while other weeks they have cat 4s as an option.

Thanks again!

I personally know that 7124 (cat 4c) has the murphy bed on the Dream. We were in 7122, and friends were in 7124. Ours did not have one.

We were on the Dream in May. We had 4 adults and 1 child in a cat 4D room. The bed with the red blanket was the murphy and the yellow is the sofa pull out. There was enough space for the 5 of us.

Having the murphy bed avoids the problem.

For problem #1, our solution has been to split up the nights and have each child sleep half the nights on the top bunk (once my younger child was old enough to want to be up there, too).

When you book, if you want a Cat4C to have a Murphy Bed, you need to ask the question and book the cabin. Even if you are a fam of 4, you can still book the stateroom with Murphy Bed; they are not only reserved for families of 5! We are a family of 4 and we had a Murphy Bed...I found this out about 5 months prior to sail....I luckily was re-assigned at that time when I asked the question. Murphy Bed was great!

Hope this helps!Enjoy the Dream! WE LOVED THE DREAM AUG.12-16TH! AWESOME!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Here's a spreadsheet from another thread that I found super useful in knowing which rooms have what type of bed configurations https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...UJZ-yFsb4U1KPZUd3AC8RN-kl8/htmlview?fs=e&s=cl
