Dream Maiden Voyage Trip Report, A Dream Come True = Completed

Hi Claire
I'm lovin' your trip report and it's really making me look forward to our first Disney cruise in October. :)

Thank you so much for all your amazing pictures!!

I'm going on the one year anniversary of the dream! (Well, I'm getting married on castaway cay via the dream :) we had no idea when we booked the date that it was the one year anniversary!)

I've been looking for pictures and have been coming up short and then found this! Again, thanks so much! It makes me even more excited about getting married on a disney cruise!

Just caught this report and loving it, DW and me are doing the Dream in Sept as part of our 25year vow renewal celebration so eagerly awaiting the next installments.
Just love all the photo's, do you mind telling me which camera it is you have? I know a good eye makes a great picture but the equipment does help also.

All those cocktails look delicious! And those pictures of Donald on the Aquaduck... :lmao: Amazing!

Can't wait to hear more :)

Wayhey...another part added, thank-you Claire! :goodvibes

More amazing photo's, I love the ones of Donald before he boarded his Aqua-duck, those came out amazing! :lovestruc

I just keep looking back at the ship photos and I'm amazed (but I'm not sure why, as we never get anything less from Disney) that the ship looks immaculate, even when there were guests on there. I know it's brand new, but it just looks amazing and shiny!

Saturday 29th January 2011 – Castaway Cay

We woke up about 6.30am Lee went for a run, meanwhile I started to pack (mainly my shopping  ) as I didn’t want to leave it all to later. Once Lee was back we both showered and got ready and headed off for some fun on Castaway Cay! It was a lovely sunny day, in the high 70’s. Our first stop was the Post Office to send ourselves a post card, this has become a new tradition as we have done it on both of our cruises and we will continue to do it each visit. We took tons of photos as we slowly walked along the pathway to the beach.

We stopped off to see Minnie & Goofy before having a walk along the beach.

We popped into the “She sells Seashells” & “Buy the Seashore” shops where I bought a few t shirts. Afterwards we had a look at the new Pelican Plunge area where we bumped into Pete & Walter so we chatted to them for quite a while.

Even though it was still morning we decided upon a cocktail so we stopped off at the Heads Up Bar. Lee took the more sensible option of a Lava Smoothie (a Virgin Pina Colada mixed with Raspberry Puree) I had a Nutty Buddy which was very yummy! (Baileys, Frangelico, blended with Cappuccino Ice Cream):

It was so relaxing sitting in the sun overlooking the water and the Dream that we could easily have stayed there all day, so we decided to have another drink. ;)

Lee had the same again and I opted for a rather large!!!!!!! Konk Kooler – Dark Rum, Light Rum and Pina Colada mixed with an Orange Passion Guava blend:

I was feeling quite hungry after my liquid breakfast so we went to Cookies BBQ Too to get some food, between us we had a mix of Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chicken and Ribs.

Afterwards Lee took my pic with Donald & Daisy as there was a very small queue.

We then took a slow walk over to Serenity Bay where we chilled out for a while and had a few more cocktails, Pina Colada for me and Lava Smoothie for Lee:

Lee had brain freeze!!!! :rotfl:

After a while we decided to head back to the ship so we got the two trams back.

Once we got back on the ship we dropped the shopping off in the room and Lee changed into his swim shorts as it was time for him to ride the AquaDuck!!!!!! There was a 15 minute queue and I was waiting on deck to take some pics, although I got chatting to a cast member and almost missed him. Lee loved it and gave it a big thumbs up. :thumbsup2

We went over to the Cove pool bar and paddled in the water, then took a seat at the pool bar. Lee had his usual Lava Smoothie and I had an Island Navigator which was delicious!

We grabbed a hot dog each from Flo’s Café and had another round of cocktails, we remembered that they had a Farewell party in the atrium at 4pm (aswell as the evening one) so we thought we’d head inside and have a look. The characters came down the stairs and then took up spots around the atrium for photos so we had a few taken. Please excuse Lee’s wet T shirt, he was still wet from the AquaDuck.

After the Farewell party we went up to Shutters to sort through what photos we wanted to buy. We ended up spending $180! We went back to the room and chilled out, I had a lie down on the bed a quite possible had a cheeky power nap. ;)

We got showered, changed and finished up the packing in time to go and see the show tonight, which was Believe! We took our seats in the Walt Disney Theatre and they had a server going around taking drinks orders! :woohoo: So we ordered a Corona for Lee & a large Pinot Grigio for me. The show was very good.

We took a few photos but they didn’t turn out too well as you are not allowed to use flash, even though some people still did.

After the show we went to dinner which tonight was at Animators Palate. We loved the décor in the restaurant, so many nice little touches all around the restaurant.

We were soon joined by Karen & Sophie and once again had a lovely meal with them. Firstly we ordered our drinks a Corona for Lee and I chose a “Golden Breeze” – Vodka, Amaretto, Galliano, Orange Juice and Pineapple Juice:

During the meal Crush and friends made appearances on the screens all around the restaurant, it was fun and a great way to keep kids entertained throughout dinner.

For Appetizers we both had a Wild Mushroom Risotto and Porcini Twist:
(Sorry for the dark photos, we didn’t want to use the flash)

We both then had the Baked Potato and Cheddar Cheese Soup with Bacon Bits and Chives:

After dinner we went to the Bon Voyage bar with Karen and Sophie for a nightcap. Lee had a Corona & I had a glass of Enchanted Rose Sparkling wine, as we were sitting there having our drinks Monica walked past and came to join us for a drink, then Deb (one of Karen & Monica’s friends) so we all had another round, this time I had a Mojito. Deb suggested that we all go back to her room for drinks on her verandah with her husband John, which we did. They had got very lucky and had been allocated a huge verandah which was double the width and length! We ordered a bottle of Fairytale Cuvee and all sat on the balcony under the stars chatting and drinking Champagne. It was the perfect end to an amazing cruise! :cloud9:

We finally got back to our room about 1.30am and found another wonderful gift, this time a commemorative keel coin.

I was out for the count as soon as my head touched the pillow! Nothing to do with all the cocktails, ;)
