Have never gone, but just discovered there's one not too far from me now. :teeth:

But I have a question. Do you come away with a recipe too for what you've made (assembled)? Or are you supposed to just keep making it there every time they offer it if it's something you really like?

I have a review posted somewhere -Im not sure if the search function would find it or not.
Anyway - it does come with instructions that are stuck to the freezer bag/container. It does not come with a recipe- I think they feel they would not make any money if you did their recipes at home.

I did this not too long ago. Ours is called something else....Lets Dish, I think.

We did not come away with any recipes, but most of the meals we made only had a small number of ingredients and would be pretty easy to duplicate. I have to say I was really impressed with both the quality and the taste of each dish -- even my kids will eat it, which is really saying a lot! We're doing another party in March, I'm o.k. with doing it every other month or so. For me, time is money, so I don't mind paying for the convenience of having them doing all the shopping and prep work.

Mare,
If you're talking about the one in Man Mar, I am going either this weekend or next, so I'll let you know how it is. I am tired of coming home at 10:30 from school and have to cook. This way, DH will just have to stick it in the oven.

That's what I figured, but I'd really hate to come home with a meal that EVERYONE liked and not be able to duplicate it.

That's the one. Good! Let me know how it goes. I emailed a friend to see if she'd be interested in going, now that it's so much closer (she's in Warren). I think the closest one before was in Milford. Every so often we talk about going, and never actually follow through.

Hi fellow Rhode Islanders! Just wanted to let you know that I've done both Dream Dinners (in Milford) and Super Suppers in Lincoln and we MUCH prefer Super Suppers. Let me know if you have any questions!

If you're interested in recipes, several of these companies have come out with cookbooks. I have "Don't Panic: Dinner's in the Freezer" and "Dream Dinners" and my family MUCH prefers "Don't Panic". I've used some of the advice from "Don't Panic" to do freezer versions of old family favorites too.

I just went to Dream dinners today. :goodvibes

No recipes but I've gone so much I can pretty much remember what they have in each recipe.

I did a pretty big order today and got it all done in an hour. That is just such a convenience to have in the freezer. I just have to remember to take them out to thaw!

Of course what did I have for dinner tonight?...frozen lasagna from Walmart (which isnt half bad BTW!)

We have Let's Dish near me and I just looked at the menus. My mouth is watering!!! I'm going to try this soon.

ETA: I just found out that I have a Super Suppers near me too. Anyone prefer one over the other?

Don't know about Dream Dinners but My Girlfriends Kitchen *which I go twice a month to* rotates their dishes out so that you don't have the same thing month after month. They do bring them back every so often but I've found if I pay attention to what was in it I can make it pretty darn close to the original recipe. I also have gotten to the point sometimes where I print out the ingredient list and then make a mental note of some of it.

I love the convenience and I save so much $$$ doing it and dh and I can make 18 meals in less than 30 min now! It's great!

I also like that if we DON'T like something we tell them and get another entree for free the next time. Very handy!

ok, dumb question here... what is dream dinners? I live in RI and never heard of it.

They are a food prep place. You pay $$$$ and go pre-prepare meals that you bring home to freeze and then thaw to cook & eat later.

There is a Let's Dish in the next town over. I looked at their menu and it looks really good! I might try it but it would be about an hour drive for me so I dont know.

Thanks! I just took a quick look at Super Suppers website, and they'll even assemble it for you for pickup AT NO EXTRA CHARGE! Cool! (Hey Jenz...could you check this one out too before I go? :teeth: )

I haven't reserved it yet, but now I'm seriously considering Super Suppers.
Oh what to do... what to do?

Jenz, Dream Dinners is doing “A taste of…Dream Dinners”
Get a taste of what Dream Dinners can do for your family with this special one-time introductory offer. Prepare three Dream Dinners (six servings each) for only $49.50.

Here are the prices for Super Suppers:
6 Super Suppers Entrees are $129.00
12 Super Suppers Entrees are $231.00

I'm thinking if I just want to try out the concept, I'd try Dream Dinners first. Also, they're having an open house Tuesday. (Darn...I already made plans for that night.)

Hhhmmm...decisions, decisions

My mistake...the open house is WEDNESDAY night.

DW Caropooh & I have gone to a few different places like this. We even gave DMil a gift cert for one down in So Cal so she and a friend could try it.

These places are great. The one we like the best is called "Dinners Ready" and I know they are expanding nationally.

We try to take turns and will take one or the other DD to help. I think DD12 and I did 18 entrees in a bit over an hour two weeks ago. One of the greatest things about these places: NO CLEAN UP . And the food tastes good. We have had a few that we did not really like, but in over a year in going, only one that was awful, and that was this week. The operators of the franchise said they will replace it free and we are going to pick up the replacements this afternoon.
