Dream a Little Dream: May 8-12, 2011

It sort of reminds me of the Fastpasses, but it sounds like they aren't enforcing it. If you come at your designated time you could go in the Fastpass lanes. If you are just showing up whenever or worse never did on line registration and have to sign all your paperwork you go in the stand by line.

I was thinking the samething...But the big thing is from what I was told there will not be two lines just a heads up.

By the way did you see that we hit 700 posts on this board.:cool1:

Hi! Joining your thread - - DH and I just booked and are very much looking forward to a vacation without the kids! It will be our first one in over 5 years, and on the DREAM to boot! :cool1:

Welcome to you and your family! :goodvibes

I am a bit curious, tho. You say you just booked and we heard that the boat was full. When did you book and did you have problems booking? Just curious. :rotfl:

The "full" status of the ships changes almost everyday due to cancelations. Folks book the cruise knowing they can cancel up to 75 days from embarkation with no penalty. I would imagine the number of cabins available will stabalize after the 75 day mark has passed. :thumbsup2

Yes I was told that by DCL that some 3 person and 2 person staterooms have opened up...and yes that people do end up needing to change dates, or sad to say some even are not going to be able to make that final payment.

Some even make set up a dumb date then switch it to another trip date.

So everything said about the 75 day mark is so true.

Ok folks this week had been bad....I must say that this week is going very slow...I guess with all this cold winter weather it is just moving at a turtles pace. We also just found out that my uncle has 2 to 3 months to live...we are not very close but we are very sad that this is happening now and I don't know weather to hope it happens before we sail or after. He has been fighting cancer for awhile now. They have ended all treatment on him. It is now just waiting to find out how long. I have told my mom I am not cancelling my trip over his passing but I really want to be there for her. So I guess I am just hoping he does not pass while I am going or just before. Please keep him in your thoughts.

I was also told that the ship was full when I called DCL on Saturday, but I asked my TA to try to get us a room and she was somehow able to. :worship: I had been trying to book online for a few days before this, but kept getting errors.

We put our deposit down on Monday and she sent us our confirmation from DCL with our stateroom number yesterday. I am BEYOND excited! :cool1:

Thank you...I just got off the phone with my mom and she again has told me that I need to still go and take the kids on their trip we have planned. :lovestruc

So we are still counting down and and getting ready to fly out of here. We only have 82 days left. And the real count down is is only 80 days left at work. Which I know sounds funny but I can not wait. and since I am taking time off the chance is that I will not work that holy week. :thumbsup2

Glad to hear it will work out for you. :thumbsup2

ok I can not sleep tonight...it most likely has to do with that long nap this afternoon or morning.

But I found a real money saver today...if you need to rent a car for your trip check out hotwire. We got a great rate and saved like 100 bucks. Just wanted to pass it on.

We always rent a car and park at the port. It makes debarkation and embarkation super convenient. Disney bus transfers does a good job too, I just feel more comfortable having the flexibility of a car! :thumbsup2

Yes we too normally rent a car at the parks this is the 1st time we are taking one to port. Last time we did the bus to port and that worked fine. But we want to get there early and get off and spend the rest of the day having fun in FL. We don't fly home until later that night.:thumbsup2

The trick is to not get a speeding ticket between the port and Disney!! :drive: We are staying through the weekend to partake in a D23 event.

You are so right...no speeding tickets allowed. We are going to port the night before so we have lots of time and going back to the airport our flight home is not until 530pm so I hope to have lots of time that way too. We are spending that day looking at houses. Our plan is to some day by a house down the way and move there. So we are just looking.:3dglasses

Ditto! :goodvibes

We have been looking for awhile...but with house values dropping here I can not make a move for a few hours. We are going to look while we are there. I can not wait to lose the snow. But hey they say it should start to melt this weekend. Is it wrong that I want to have a snow melted party.
