Dream a Little Dream: May 8-12, 2011

what a generous christmas gift to her nephews! i'm going to decide this week and book. oh, also, i found great rates for transportation, if you haven't looked into that yet.
did you get an actual room assignment yet. they told me i wouldn't get one until right before the cruise so i was wondering why other people have them? was the booking agent wrong?

Yes it is we are very thrilled that she is doing this. We were set to stay at a budget this time since we are going for 10 days! :cool1: But she said that was not were she wanted the kids to stay (one is her godson) that she would be taking care of the hotel! I was like :scared1: you have to be kidding! She can be very nice that way. We have already rented a car for the whole stay and for the cruise it was just 30 dollars more than the Disney bus service for 4 to the ship and back! we are set there too.:cheer2:

yay!!! it worked. i can post another one when i find out the day we actually leave for the vacation! thanks so much for all your help and i better get off of here now and get some things done...this is addictive! i'm on vacation now that school is out but i still need to get some things done for my trip to florida tomorrow for a week .

just found out why i didnt get a room number...the rooms in the category i wanted were all sold at this time; however, i am guaranteed a room in that category or better...whatever better means. there are always a lot of cancellations so i probably wont get bumped up but it means i dont get to choose my room either...oh well, just keep my fingers crossed; i know if it is awful, my husband will never go on another cruise again. i booked a deluxe inside (thought logan, my grandson, would enjoy the virtual porthole) but wouldnt mind a regular porthole either! hey, another thing...do you know if there is a fish extender organized for our trip; if not how do i go about starting one...i think logan would enjoy it as well as the other children:

I don't think there is one. As far as the room it is Disney I don't think there is a really bad room on the whole ship! There was just an atrical about the virtual porthole and who will visit you in it! I am looking forward to the stars>>>where I can lay in bed and see the neverland stars above my head. What a great nightlight. Ok lets face it we all are just waiting for the ship to sail and more so for us to board! I can not wait to tell the kids then to board that plan! I should add we are going house shoping while we are down there!:woohoo: my husband want to move there in a few years or so and so we are going to check out areas and see what things are like!:scared1:

We just found out that my sister got us a room at animal Kingdom!!! I am so ready to go now! to bad it is not paid in full yet but we are more than 1/2 there this weekend with the airfare paid for!

Just want to add I can tell we are all getting ready to sail as we have more families on here and more posts coming faster than before! You guys make waiting more fun.

oh, that is one of my 3 choices...cant make up my mind. i will decide in the next few days between AK, Poly, or WL...i think? I am so happy for you; do you know what kind of room you got? This is too exciting!!! I keep coming back to this board between chores...i ironed, back to board; cleaned up kitchen, back to board, measured windows (we are getting new windows), back to board, took Libby (our mini daschound) for a walk, back to board!
This is worse than when I first joined facebook!

My sister loves animal Kingdom she said she has a hard time staying anywhere else. I love the new Bayview it is really nice and would have loved to stay there. You can have the music to the fireworks piped right into your room and see wdw fireworks. But hey I will stay where ever it is Disney and I just can not wait to go. Something tells me that the kids are going to find out before x-mas. I have 5 months I wonder if I can get a sound proof room where I can go and shout it to the roof and the kids won't hear me.

:rolleyes1once my daughter found a princess something house that i had hidden for her. it was for christmas and was the one thing she really, really wanted. she found it and was so excited. i told her that i was holding it for the little girl next door as a surprise so dont tell anyone. although disappointed, it was forgotten about and was very surprised that santa bought her one also! if they start to catch on, maybe you can tell a little white lie and say you are helping out a friend make plans for a trip!

Oh yeah, i just made reservations at the radison for the night before the cruise. I hope I'm happy with it. Free shuttle to port and its just an overnite thing so we dont have to travel in the morning. I figured it will be a cheaper hotel and closer than disney so we can check out of our hotel on the 7th, have them hold our bags for the day and then when we are tired, grab our bags, catch our ride to the radison. have dinner around there (a change) maybe catch a swim before bed, wake up, breakfast and leave...YAY!!!! As you can see, I am excited for the cruise, not so much DW. I am excited for DW to see it through my grandson's eyes. I have fond memories with my two children but also remember how hot and tiring it always was...and oh my gosh, the lines!!! so i just don't think about it.

We too are checking out of disney on the 7th and plan to check into the radisson! we are spending that day at kennedy space center! then maybe hit the pool a put our feet up for the dream! We plan to head over to port real early we have a rental car so we can go whenever but my husband wants to spend sometime there and he has thing about watching them load the ship (wants to see the food go on)! I don't know and don't care whatever I am just happy we are going!

we went to the space center (when our children still liked traveling with us) and it was the best thing i ever did in FL!!! So interesting and informative. Both children loved it also. it was the day before a shuttle launch so we were able to see it all ready to take off! I think they were 9 and 15 when we went. i think logan is still a bit too young to grasp what it really is, so we will wait a bit on that one...maybe when we take him on another cruise (because we are going to love this one so much)!!!
:dance3:

i can't believe that i figured out how to put an avatar on here! OMG, I better unplug this computer.

Too funny but true you will love it. My kids will be 7 and 9 so they both really like space and have studied it in school. I think it is the best chance for them to go. Also a nice day where we can take our time. Which is not what we do when we are at the parks. We are always on the go. We have 4 days of going to the parks so a slower paced day will be nice. :cool1: Then we can sit by the pool or whatever we choose that night. Me I will be washing clothes so we don't have to pay for too much baggage at the airport.

great idea to wash clothes; hadn't thought about that! maybe i'll see you at the laundromat!!!! My name is Amelia by the way.

cant believe i got my supper ready with being on this site most of the day. well, i have to go pack for my trip tomorrow. see you all. hopefully when i get back someone would have started a fish extender thread, or i will.

Yes we might just see each other there....We do that so we can pack less. We hope to have our trip plans about set this Friday! and then comes the big part paying for it!

I don't think it is too far away to be super excited at all!!! I am so glad to know others share my "madness" :goodvibes I LOVE going to WDW and love love love Disney cruising!!! I am on that ship every night in my head when I go to sleep:cloud9:
You are SO right when you say that it will be here before you know it!
Last Nov we did a quick 3 day and did the Space Center before sailing. DH is very into the Space thing and DS10 also had a great time. There was supposed to be a shuttle launch that would have gone right over our heads as we would have been leaving port but,of course, the launch was cancelled. DH was SO bummed! (My youngest DS only cruises with us. DH 17 stays at home with my FIL.)
We stayed at the Radisson in Nov. It was cold and rainy so we did not get a chance to appreciate their pool and the room was just ok. However, I had found an online special for $99. For $99 it was a great deal and I would totally do it again! I read here on the DIS that their shuttle fills up MONTHS in advance. (We were returning a rental so we took another shuttle.) The Residence Inn looked nice but $179 is way more than I can do:sad2:
I cannot wait to check out the new ship! I wish they would put out more updates!!

See and my husband thinks I am crazy....I think he is the crazy how can you not be excited to go to wdw and the cruise on the new ship. I am so ready to go now. We love the parks too. We are working on getting everything lined up. I am getting a book that has lots of info about the dream and I will share once I get it. I just 1st want to make sure it has as much info as it says it does about the new ship. If you check the passport boards there is someone who went to the werft and posted photos and info. You can also visit www.meyerwerft.com . click on the flag in the corner (right) so you can read it. Then under shipyard there is a web cam go to that and you can see the dream. The web cam updates weekly. Every Monday something changes in the photo might be small. They are now working on the inside and in OCT it will take a test sail. I am sure it will pass. Well I am off to work keep up the planning everyone we are closer than we think.
