Dream a Little Dream: May 8-12, 2011

:cool1: We're booked and can't wait for the Dream. This time we're bringing the grandparents with us.

Disney Wonder May 6, 2010

Hello Everyone! I just checked to see if a thread for our cruise had been started yet, considering we have a ways to go- and was pleasantly suprised to see you all had gotten a big long start already!:goodvibes
We will be joining you as well. Myself, DH and our youngest DS who will be 12 at the time of sail.(Our oldest will be at the tail end of his senior year in high school then.) This will be our 4th Disney cruise and we are so excited to be going on the Dream:woohoo:

Another month down! 11 more months to go before our cruise sails!:woohoo:

I see we a few more families joining us. Welcome everyone!!!:cool1: I am with you all in counting the days. I can not believe how fast the time is going by. Before you know it the dream will be in the water and ready to set sail!

Just for those of you who do not know the Dream will be taking its final test in Oct!!! It will set sail then! :woohoo: I am sure it will pass this test with no problem!:teacher:

so I started looking at air fare for our trip and I am shocked at what I found.... 981.00 1026.00 and 1800.00:surfweb:,. Like that is out of the budget...I will be waiting for southwest to post their fares. I hope the cost comes down here pretty quick because that is insane. I should add it was for 4 people from chicago to mco. I 1st said this has to be a joke:lmao: but later I found the rates were all there. Just wanted to give you all a heads up.

Wow! I hope you can find less expensive airfare. I'm close enough to Cape Canaveral that I can drive - should take about 7.5 to 8 hours. I planning on driving down several days prior to the cruise so I'll have some time to check out the Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach. I've already made my ressies at the Radisson near the port.

Is anyone else planning to arrive at the port prior to the cruise?

Good Luck mickey4!pixiedust:

We are planning on staying at the same hotel the night before!!:goodvibes We are going to hold off and see if we can find lower rates!! :wizard: We are in chicago so we are 19 hours away and realy don't want to drive that far and we are renting a car when we get in.

I just don't want to look seriously yet, because we fly from Toronto (flying from Sudbury is another $400 each X 3 = $1200!). Last time I checked, it was $450 each. Since it's our first time, I look but I don't know if prices will increase or decrease. Anybody can help?

Now, to answer the other question, we will be at the Poly for 8 days prior to the cruise.

It helps me a lot to be here, on this thread.

Do any of you knows when we can book our stay at the Poly? Should we wait till the 180 days, or is it better to book earlier? Even now?

More Pixie dust....:tink:

It's my understanding that you can make Disney Resort reservations 500 days in advance so you could make them now. The 2011 rates are not out yet so your deposit will be equivalent to the most expensive rate for 2010 - holiday season (as least from I've read on the Resorts board). The 2011 rates should be out in August so you could wait until then to make your reservations. AAA discounted rates (or CAA in your case) are usually released in August also for the next year, so if you're a member, make sure you ask for the discount. You also want to watch the "codes and rates" sub-board on the Dis for any discounts which might be offered for May 2011 as the month gets closer. Another good site to watch for discounts is mousesavers.

I called Wdw and asked the other day...They said the Rates should be our July or Aug. so I am waiting on them. They did tell us the rates can change if you try to book now so your rate is no locked in until the rates open up. So I would just sit back and wait.

Airfare wise we are waiting.....I refuse to pay of 1,000 for 4 to fly there. So I am going to just watch the rates and see what happens. I know this family is really into planning mode now that we are almost 9 months away so hard to believe how fast it is coming up. I am thinking of sending my final payment into DCL in July. I guess we will see.:woohoo:

Wow, I love the DISboard and it's people. The answers from you guys are quick and seems clear and precise to me. So I think I'll wait for the rates in August, then.

More Pixie dust your way!

You are welcome!!! I too love the boards it makes planning so much more fun since you are working with a group of people also makes the time go by faster. I am glad we could all help.

I can not wait I just found out that my book with more info about the Dream will ship this month!!! I can not wait I will share whatever news I find out.

Peeking in to wave at everyone. Nice that we can say "less than a year". Hope everyone has a lovely summer!

THis will be our 2nd cruise. The 1st one was a fabulous family THanksgiving trip 2009. Due to the expense it was to be our first and last. But now sister out of nowhere announced she was going to get married on the May 8th cruise aboard the new ship! My husband said there were only a few circumstances that would allow us to cruise again and this was one of them.

We recently moved from Atlanta to Pittsburgh and its been a hard move for me. Not a whole lot to be excited about until this. I actually banned myself from this Dislist I was so sad after cruising the first time, knowing we were never coming back. Now I can look forward to almost a year smiling and laughing my way through tip reports and new news about the Dream and scoping out fun wedding ideas for my sister. I feel so selfish, my sisters big day and I keep thinking about all the things I didn't do the first time and will my boy grow 2 inches for the aqua duck and can I loose some weight...
