Dream a Little Dream: May 8-12, 2011

Very cool....I can not wait to dine on the ship. My husband and I talk often of the food on the wonder.

its good to hear that. from what i heard, the food is just ok on disney ships. i was planning on not expecting too much in that category so maybe i will pleasantly surprised! leaving in a few to catch my plane.:cool2:

I don't think it is too far away to be super excited at all!!! I am so glad to know others share my "madness" :goodvibes I LOVE going to WDW and love love love Disney cruising!!! I am on that ship every night in my head when I go to sleep:cloud9:
You are SO right when you say that it will be here before you know it!
Last Nov we did a quick 3 day and did the Space Center before sailing. DH is very into the Space thing and DS10 also had a great time. There was supposed to be a shuttle launch that would have gone right over our heads as we would have been leaving port but,of course, the launch was cancelled. DH was SO bummed! (My youngest DS only cruises with us. DH 17 stays at home with my FIL.)
We stayed at the Radisson in Nov. It was cold and rainy so we did not get a chance to appreciate their pool and the room was just ok. However, I had found an online special for $99. For $99 it was a great deal and I would totally do it again! I read here on the DIS that their shuttle fills up MONTHS in advance. (We were returning a rental so we took another shuttle.) The Residence Inn looked nice but $179 is way more than I can do:sad2:
I cannot wait to check out the new ship! I wish they would put out more updates!!

i got scared...changed my reservation to country inns and suites...hope that is ok because i probably wont change again; after all, its only one night.:flower3:

I am getting a book that has lots of info about the dream and I will share once I get it. I just 1st want to make sure it has as much info as it says it does about the new ship. If you check the passport boards there is someone who went to the werft and posted photos and info. You can also visit www.meyerwerft.com . click on the flag in the corner (right) so you can read it. Then under shipyard there is a web cam go to that and you can see the dream. The web cam updates weekly. Every Monday something changes in the photo might be small. They are now working on the inside and in OCT it will take a test sail. I am sure it will pass. Well I am off to work keep up the planning everyone we are closer than we think.[/QUOTE]
thanks for sharing that!! it will be so cool to watch-even if we can only see the outside. just seeing the ship makes me happy:yay:

Sorry! didn't mean to scare you. The room was ok but I guess the rooms could use some updating. Maybe that is what turned me off. :confused

I have been looking at the Country Inn and Suites too.
I'm with you guys on the dining too. I can' wait to see what they have in store for us!

We too have looked at all the different hotels in the area....I am not in a hurry to book that part yet. I am busy paying for the rest 1st then we will see where we end up. I enjoy make the plans for this trip. I went to the bookstore today and got some Travel books to read to keep me busy. I don't think 3 books is too much do you. Two today and I ordered one.

So I got the husband to buy me wdw travel guide yesterday and I have been reading it non-stop. I am shocked by all the changes since I have been there. I guess this will make planning that much more fun. I can not wait for my DCL guide to ship and I should have a date this next week. On a side note I have my TAP exam this week so everyone keep your fingers crossed for me.

fingers crossed and sending pixie dust your way:wizard:
what is a TAP exam?
do you have to ask ( or pay for) DCL to send you a guide to the Dream or do they send you one because you've booked a trip?

I take the TAP exam on July 8th it is the travel agent exam....:teacher: I so hope I can get all the studying in that I need too.

The DCL guide that I am getting is not from Disney! It is book you have to pay for! Once I get and review it I will let you know if it is worth the book. In the past I have had this book and was blowen away but this one will cover the dream so I pre-ordered it and will get it soon. IF it has all the info I think it will have I will then let you know to order. I just don't want anyone spending 40.00 dollars and it not worth it for our trip. I will keep you posted once I have it.

Just in case any of you are thinking about applying for a passport for this crusie, the fee for a new passport is going up from $100 to $135 on July 13. Other fees (passport renewal, visas, etc) are also going up.

Really do you know what the new fee for a childs passport renewal is going to be. I guess I could just check the website. I am thinking of geting the kids new ones they are still good for about 6 months after our trip but they have changed so much since we got them.

A child's passport will increase from $85 to $105.

Thanks for the info and Yes I went to the website and found out...I was hoping it would be a small increase but I guess 20.00 bucks is not that bad.

:woohoo:Well we got a great deal on airfare today!!! We now just have to payoff the cruise and we are set! I can not believe that this trip is really coming together! :cool1: By the way if any of you need to look at airfare I found continetial is cheaper than united! But we are flying on united! Less than 200.00 per person.

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy 4th of July!! I can not wait until Next Mothers Day it we get to see the best Fireworks on the Ocean.
