Dream 9/14/15 4 night

:hyper2:
Hi all. I have a couple of weird questions and this board seems to be the most friendly board to ask:)

1) We are a family of 3.. mom, dad and 2 year old boy, Jackson. We requested the first dinner seating since Jackson can barely keep his eyes open past 8:30:) Is the most likely scenario that we get our seating request and are partnered with a family of 5 to complete a 8 top table? How does that usually work?
2) Is the pull down bunk in the family veranda suites safe for little kids, or should we plan on him sleeping on the couch?
3) Jackson is PUMPED about meeting Mickey (and possible even more pumped for Minnie).. but.. he also has thus far not been a huge fan of mascots (sporting events, CF Cows, etc), so I am a bit worried that he might be in for a little shock:) Any suggestions for preparing him for it?

Thanks for the help everyone! Excited to go on our first cruise (if not a little overwhelmed;))

Glad to have you on board for the FE! We're excited to have you. I have absolutely NO answers to your questions above but wanted to extend a big welcome :hyper2:.

Since you are the one posting on the boards now...who is more excited about your vacation? You? Your wife? Just wondering. In my hh my husband is excited but I'm the one all over the place finding answers to everything. ...and this is a great place for that. These guys know everything!

I think we are all equally excited. It's been a rough year, so we are just happy to get away! This cruise is a gift from my company (they give away 3 each year and I was a lucky winner this year!), so I decided to take on the planning. I am already looking at another one for next year.

Actually, I don't think we are going to do the FE this time around. We'll get one cruise under our built and see what a FE is all about:)

60 days!

60 days!
Welcome!
Seeing 60 days makes it seem so close but I hate to wish this summer away, although it's been very rainy, not always warm and just miserable sometimes.
We are opting out of the FE too but I hope I can still be in your group guys :)
We did FE over NYE on the Dream and had a great experience. Loved making the beach bags with our date and DCL Dream and it was fun to
come back to the cabin and see gifts left for us (even my big kids 21 and 17 enjoyed seeing what we got LOL) but leaving the family and home and just
going with my mom so don't want to be walking around the ship this time leaving my goodies but it is a lot of fun.

Hope you are all doing well! What do you have planned in Nassau? We are staying on the ship this time.

Is there a meet/greet or just the FE? Thank you all.

I hear ya about not wanting to wish the summer away, but it seems to be flying by as always anyhow! I'm so excited for this vacation that I'm not minding so much!

Yesterday was my son's 14th birthday and he asked to spend the day at the Boston Museum of Science, in particular he wanted to see the Pixar exhibit. Fantastic exhibit - taught all about the making of the Pixar movies. Just incredible how much time, thought, computer power, and work goes into making those movies. Made us all more excited for our cruise. We're hoping they will be showing "Inside Out" while we're onboard.

No plans for Nassau day. Might go off ship for a walk around. Too nervous to commit to excursions - 1) first cruise and just want to take it all in and 2) the 3 year old is a wild card! We're saving excursions and FE for a future cruise. :)

I remember when my ds was 3. OMG is all I can say. My dd will be going to Boston with her friend on Thursday and saying through Monday.
She is very excited and cannot wait to do some tours. It looks like a fantastic town! We, too, plan on seeing Inside Out on the cruise. Can't wait!

I really hope Inside Out is the movie on the cruise. Is there anyway to find out early what movies they will show? I'm just curious.

There are only 55 days until the cruise! 55 days to buy as much sunscreen as I can get my hands on! :beach: We really, really, really need a sunburned emoticon. :bitelip: I guess this will do. :bitelip:

Yes, about a month out or so, you can call the disney cruise movie line number and ask what movies will be shown.. :) :) I have the number saved somewhere - but, if you just google disney cruise line move number - I am sure it is somewhere on the web too.. :)

We LOVE seeing movies on the cruise - it is our favorite part.. :)

Can't wait for the cruise.. We just got home from our little "summer" vacation and now it is time to put all thoughts and efforts into the cruise.. My 4 year old has decided we are going as Red Riding Hood, Wolf and Granny from "Into the Woods" for Halloween.. Need to figure that out and put that together before cruise time. :)

LOVE Boston! It's a great "big town city" - lots to do and see in a small, manageable area. Hope your DD has a great time!

Not sure about the movie, but my fingers are crossed for Inside Out. DH and the boys are hoping for Ant-man too.

:rotfl2: I too am on a quest for sunscreen. I'm as white as they come - well, a little pink in places at the moment. Silly me tried to work on a "base tan" this weekend. :sad2: What was I thinking!

This weekend we booked our parking, rental car and hotels for the drive. It's getting real!

Anyone know how much laundry service costs on the boat? Not the self-service, but where they do it? I am sure it's crazy expensive, but since this cruise is free (thanks, work!), I am willing to pay for things I won't in the future:) Anything to save a few hours.

We are considering booking a 7 Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy while on the boat to get this discount. Haven't even left yet... and we are already hooked;)

I would be more than happy to add you to the FE list. I just put it out today and I seriously doubt anyone will complain. I need the names and ages of those participating, your stateroom number and favorite characters if you have them. I'll get you added shortly after that.

We're so happy to have you!!!

:thanks:

Hey!

I want to give a special shout out to Daphne (Bama0914) who caught a few mistakes I made on the FE list! She is really on the ball. If anyone catches anything else, wants me to add a name or additional details, just let me know. I am far from perfect....my children will attest to that:crazy:

Hey lady! Didn't you say in an earlier post that Brayden turns 7 on the cruise? I want to make sure before I send out that list because I have that down. Whoever has you in their FE group might like to do a little something special :rolleyes1

We are celebration his and my "birthday" on Thursday Sept. 17, which is actually a week and half from his real birthday, and a week and half after mine so we are doing a double celebration. Thank you again for organizing this group!!
