Dream - 6/20/12 - 4 nt - Great Start to the Summer of 2012!!! FE #217 DIS Meet #216

What page is the listing of the FE participants on? I want to start putting the things together and was wondering if there was a listing with rooms, kids ect.
I know OCD but my kids will be in town for Father's day so don't want to leave everything for the last minute.:crowded:

The closest post to here is on page 13, post # 185; Jan set up a link to a spreadsheet. :)

It appears the most recent link is included in post #195 from Jan. It mentions the 14 cabins updated.

Anyone else excited???? :beach:

Hope this helps,
Thanks,
HJ

Yes we are all getting really excited. I found a "craft tip sheet" at Joann's with a Mickey Mouse theme and I made count down calenders for the out of town grand kids.

Some of the out of town kids & grands are coming for Father's Day. The rest will be here 2 days before on Monday.

It's been a year since they have all been here at the same time, (good thing we have a 4 bedroom house and a RV we can put in the backyard) having the house full are the best times!

:crowded:

This August, will be the first time in 2 years that all 6 grandkids are together. Can't wait for that event, too!

2 months from today, we will probably be at sea after spending the day at Nassau. :thumbsup2

Just curious - is our Pirate Night on night 2 leaving Nassau or Castaway Cay? It appears it might be different, based on our itinerary B route. I saw an Itinerary B Navigators the other day and if I remember correctly it was on night two, Nassau, however for that particular cruise they changed their day for Castaway Cay due to weather so I'm really confused :rotfl:

Just curious - helps in figuring out when to deliver some FE gifts... :)

Hmmm...since castaway cay is usually the day before returning to port and pirate night included fireworks at bout 1030ish pm, I would hope it's not that evening. It would be very hard to have your luggage packed plus keep costumes and next day clothes available.:worried:

I have seen Pirate Night listed as part of the night activities for our 'At Sea' day. I hope so, it gives us all day on the boat and more time to get dressed up. ARRRRGGGHHH:cool1:

I called Disney on Monday and was told the following about Pirate Night Wed is Crusie casual, Thursday Night is Pirate Night. Great made 5 outfits for the boys/guys.

I talked to them also regarding our early seating at dinner and the cast off party, and was told that the dinning room OPENS at 5:30 but dinner isn't served until 6:00 leaving time to see us pull away from the dock and wave at the suckers at Jetty Park.

I don't know for sure what day is spent where.:scared1:

I'm assuming we will leave port at 5pm if there are no last minute issues. We go to deck 4 to watch the CMs wave to us from port, and then watch people at the restaurants and boats waving to us. If we leave at 5pm, we will sail past Jetty Park by 5:15 or so. It's also fun to watch the pilot boat guy jump into the pilot boat. This happens just before we get to Jetty Park.

We usually are scheduled for early dining and have plenty of time to refresh and get to the dining room in time for dinner. Don't like to be late to dinner - especially Dave!

Well, Dave has been retired for 4 weeks now. He has tackled his honey-do list without any prompting from me! He now does the grocery shopping, laundry, changing of sheets, errands - all stuff I would have to cram into a weekend or try to do at night after work. And he cooks!

I am giving him a surprise retirement party this Saturday in the Detroit area, where we are originally from and where many of our family and friends reside. He has no clue - I think! He thinks he's going to a surprise party for an old high school boyfriend of mine with whom we are friends. Several DIS friends will be there too. So many times I have started to mention someone who is attending this party and realize I have to stop talking immediately! It's so hard to keep a secret!

8 weeks from today at this time, I will probably be in the Dream gift shops, then head to the evening's entertainment. My grandson (8 years) who was on the Dream this past January just told me that I cannot buy an Aquaduct shirt until after I go on the Aquaduct. Cute!

Enjoy the weekend!

FE Info in Post #57.

Jan
We are first time Disney cruisers -kldip & 4 Grandsons! How important is door decorating and the FE?

Welcome kdlip and grandkids!

Let me know ASAP if you want to join the FE list. Cut off is this weekend as we are getting closer to our sail date. :thumbsup2

For all FE participants, I will post the final FE list tomorrow evening.

A friend of mine is on the Wonder in Hawaii. She is posting lots of pics and video on Facebook. They had rough seas the first 2 days.

Has anyone gotten a good deal on a car rental? I know there aren't many deals when picking up at Cape Canaveral and dropping off at the airport, but prices seem so high right now. Pre-cruise, we are using Magical Express to get to WDW and we've booked DCL transportation to get to the ship.

Enjoy the weekend!

Hi Jan! How did the retirement party for Dave turn out? Were you able to keep it a surprise up to the last minute? :lmao: I hope it all turned out well! :thumbsup2

So close now! WE ARE CRUISING NEXT MONTH!

I wouldn't say our cruise rental is "good" but it's fair enough. It seems some of the weekly deals out there are decent. We only need the car rental for when we arrive at MCO to get us to Cape canaveral and the 1 1/2 days before the cruise. We are using Budget for a "Ford Edge" or similar and it's about $90ish total. We will drop off the car rental at the port around 915 and then TOny will take their shuttle back to the hotel so we can all go together to the ship from the hotel's port shuttle. SO EXCITING!!

I was actually going to come ask about an updated FE list so I'm glad that's coming tomorrow ;) I want to get mine finished so I can coast for the next few weeks.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekends - we are getting closer and closer!!

Heather

Dave's surprise party was truly a surprise. We had a great evening with relatives and friends.

I have a car rental booked through Travelocity but I keep checking websites for a better deal. I have also subscribed to the June 2012 rental car thread on the DIS boards.

Jan

Just finished the FE for our 5 rooms what fun too many design ideas and choices but I am happy with the outcome. I have 5 pirate outfits done, 3 girls outfits (Tangled, Ariel and Pocahontas). The signature pillow cases ready. Our families matching shirts are here and I've began embroidering of them. Thanks again Santa for the fancy embroidering machine you got me ;).

Now to put the FE gifts together, the time is getting shorter, the lists are getting shorter and I am getting excited!

What was decieded about getting together after we board??

:cheer2:

:cheer2:

For a DIS meet the day we board the Dream, let's meet at 3pm at the 687 Lounge in the "District" section on Deck 4. That will give us time before the 4pm life boat drill. Also, by 3:30 pm or so, bars stop serving and pools shut down due to the life boat drill.

Jan

Thank you so much for the updated list!

I have been driving myself crazy making things for everyone. :upsidedow:upsidedow

I unfortunately was elected (or assumed) that I would make everyone's FE gifts.

44 people times 4 cabins = 144 gifts! :faint:
Plus something special for Pirate day! pirate:

Of course I had to make for everyone in my group too because they wanted what I making too.

It seems that everytime I turn around there is something else to be made(because something changed) or buy (not enough supplies). I just hope I still have money left for the trip! ;)

We are all really excited and are now counting down the days.
36 days for me as we are driving down and spending sometime in both WDW and US.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!:dance3:

So...we have cancelled this cruise.
I don't know how many of you are DVC members but the e-mail made me do it. We are now booked on the Fantasy for the 16th for the 7 night. It is an amazing deal. We took a bit of a hit cancelling this one but we get to be on a Disney Cruise for 7 nights instead of 4, and the loss is not nearly as bad as being able to book a family stateroom @ a 50% discount!:cool1: We still come out ahead. Plus we will be able to come back around the holidays, which is something I have been wanting to do again.
So, sorry to say Good Bye but :moped:
Later,
Sue
