Dream - 6/20/12 - 4 nt - Great Start to the Summer of 2012!!! FE #217 DIS Meet #216

So...we have cancelled this cruise.
I don't know how many of you are DVC members but the e-mail made me do it. We are now booked on the Fantasy for the 16th for the 7 night. It is an amazing deal. We took a bit of a hit cancelling this one but we get to be on a Disney Cruise for 7 nights instead of 4, and the loss is not nearly as bad as being able to book a family stateroom @ a 50% discount!:cool1: We still come out ahead. Plus we will be able to come back around the holidays, which is something I have been wanting to do again.
So, sorry to say Good Bye but :moped:
Later,
Sue

Aww..so sad and happy at the same time! We aren't DVC members so I'm not aware of your offer but it sounds like it worked out for you guys and you get to cruise longer!! We'll be like two ships passing in the night...:lmao:

Have a great time!!

Heather

Thank you so much for the updated list!

I have been driving myself crazy making things for everyone. :upsidedow:upsidedow

I unfortunately was elected (or assumed) that I would make everyone's FE gifts.

44 people times 4 cabins = 144 gifts! :faint:
Plus something special for Pirate day! pirate:

Of course I had to make for everyone in my group too because they wanted what I making too.

It seems that everytime I turn around there is something else to be made(because something changed) or buy (not enough supplies). I just hope I still have money left for the trip! ;)

We are all really excited and are now counting down the days.
36 days for me as we are driving down and spending sometime in both WDW and US.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!:dance3:

Stephanie, I can't wait either! We just changed our pre-cruise plans. We upgraded using DVC points to the Poly! :thumbsup2 We had points we could not use at a DVC resort, so decided to splurge. Works for me as we are having breakfast twice during our stay at Kona Cafe. Love the tonga toast!

Sue, enjoy your cruise on the Fantasy! It was an awesome deal extended to DVC members. Makes me wonder if DCL cannot fill all four ships each week.

Jan

Well the count down for me is 33 days as we are leaving a whole week ahead to spend some time in WDW, SW & US! I think I will need the cruise to relax! ;)

Sue, I hope you have a great time on your "new" cruise. Friends of ours are on that one and we are hoping that we get a horn battle as we pass. We were supposed to do that one as well, but I was afraid since this is my first cruise on anything.

I'm winding my FE gifts up and have created a map of each deck showing where each cabin that is participating in the exchange is. We are all over the boat!
I don't have it quite done as most of my family group is a 9A GTY so we have no idea what our cabin #'s are yet.
When I get the map completed, I would be happy to share it as a pdf if anyone would be interested. Just let me know.
I'm not sure how to attach a pdf to the this thread, but I'm sure someone does.

IT'S COMING CLOSER!

Stephanie, I'd love to get a copy of your map! I have indicated on the FE list the stateroom locations - forward, midship, and aft, but your map will be a tremendous help to all.

Where are you staying pre-cruise?

No problem!

I am patiently (no, not really-actually on pins and needles!:hyper:) waiting for our cruise documents to come with ANY information on them about where are on the ship. As soon as that information comes I will update the file and send it off to you.

Any idea how to post it?

We are POR (regular room) for our pre-trip at WDW and Lowes Pacific Palms for US and IoA.
We usual stay at FW in the cabins so this will definitely be a new experience for us!

Can't wait!!!! Is it wrong to have some of our bags packed already? :yay:

Count me in too! I'd love a copy of the map once you're finished! I was going to work on something after you all got your cabins so this saves me time! :) I know it must be nerve wracking waiting on the cabins. I can't wait for the Mickey Mail to arrive with our cruise documents!!1 :cool1:

I'm determined to finish up these FE gifts and getting them organized within the next week. My DH is helping "make" some of them so I lit the fire under him :rotfl:

We leave on the 18th to head down to Port Canaveral so I guess that makes it 38 days before the trip. WOWSERS!

Have a great weekend and Mother's Day everyone
Heather

:sail:40 days till we all board!!!!!:sail:

Is anyone else excited?!?!?!?!?!?!?! :cool1::boat:

I would be glad to share the "map" with everyone. I know it will make my job alot easier. :tink:

I think out of the 16 in our family that is going I am the most excited! I would also like a copy of the map.
I hope all had a great Mothers Day!
:hippie:

It means that it really is going to happen doesn't it?
:cool1:
Yep!! I called not too long ago and pre-paid our gratuities and also the transfer from the Port to POFQ after the cruise so I've officially paid it all! Now if we can just keep the charging under control once we're on the ship...:lmao:

Do you guys that have cruised before have a preference for lunch? I swear I might have asked this before. Cabana's or Enchanted Garden? I understand they are both buffet's so just curious....

I'm excited, too! This is DCL cruise #16 for me and the excitement is still over the top for me - especialy being on the Dream for the first time!

Jan

For all FE participants -I have been asked by several particpants about FE gift delivery, etc. No rules!!! Deliver whenever the day/time is convenient for you. Also, you decide if you want to distribute more than one set of FE gifts. With the cruise being so short - our first day is a partial day and our last day is at CC, we won't have as many opportunities as we would have on a longer cruise.

My preference for lunch depends on the menus. On the Magic/Wonder, when Lumiere's/Triton's is open for lunch, a menu is posted so that you can decide before entering the restaurant. I like going to Parrot Cay (Enchanted Garden on the Dream) rather than Topsiders/Beach Blanket (Cabanas on the Dream). But, I've been told that Cabanas is so much better than Topsiders/Beach Blanket so I know I'll try Cabanas for lunch.

Thanks Jan! ;)

I figured out our cabin numbers! It was on our reservation online! WOO HOO!!!

But this now brings up another question...
Should I be getting something else from the agent that I booked with for cruise documents? I already did the online check in and printed the form to be signed. Should I be receiving something else?

34 days!!!!!! :cool1:

Stephanie, you'll be getting a booklet from DCL along with luggage tags. No cruise docs have arrived at this house - yet!
