Downpours, DIS meets, and the Dining Plan - Our Week at WDW May 16-23 Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed your tr. Your girls are so cute especially when they were in their costumes from BBB. Im sorry that it rained through mostly your whole trip. Its best to go around January (thats when I go). Theres hardly any rain, hardly any lines at the rides, and its cooler. Keep on posting...I would love to read more :-)

Yea, I've literally poured my heart and soul into this trip for them...I really hope I find what I'm looking for with my mom and sister....it's been a rocky past with all of us, but I'm trying to work thru all that. I just want that TIME to spend with them....that's the most important thing. And I HATE just sitting at someone's house talking...so, this trip was born. I'm excited, but getting nervous at the same time. They're so critical, and what if I do something they don't like, etc etc. I'm ALWAYS second best with mom, ALWAYS trying to gain her pride and stuff, so it's hard. So it should be fun, but if she starts with her crap, she can go back to the cabin!! LOL
I can understand. My mom treats my brother and I differently too. Your mom is going to look back and love what you've done for her. If they criticize don't let it bother you. At least YOU have done something to make the situation better in a manner that everyone can feel comfortable. Kudos to you for trying. It's going to be just fine Christie!

Love the dive pictures :thumbsup2. I have been trying to catch up on reading my Dis buddies posts. I have been in la la land for the past month and a half, but I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel, I just hope it isn't a train :lmao:.
You've had a reason for being in la la land. You've had it pretty rough girl! Glad to see ya again!

Bring on the beach day!!! LOL
It's coming...:goodvibes

Thanks so much! Thanks for reading along with us. :thanks: I have 3 more days of fun to post!

She probably doesn't know how to show you what she is feeling. Hopefully she will open up while you are on your trip. :goodvibes

Hi Connie! :yay: Things are good here-Pop's first round of chemo and radiation went as well as could be expected-only one mild reaction so far. Kids are well, Joe is well so in general life is good. How bout you? How are things?

I love the pic of Josie so I decided to change my FB profile pic.

If it weren't for friends like you I would be a total basket case. Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement. I know, in the big scheme of things, I am blessed. I am keeping your family in my prayers too.

You can count on me to listen and pray for you any time you need it. Thanks for the prayers. So far (other than a minor reaction to the chemo that was expected) Pop has done great with the chemo and radiation. He's tired but doing great considering.

Hey do you think you might get over to WDW next May? It would be great to meet up again!

Dad has decided to go with radiation. He has a trip to Vegas the first week of October:laughing: So, he has decided to have the "gold" inserted before he leaves and start the radiation when he returns. It will be for 40 days not including weekends and should have very little side effects (except for being tired--which is what he is being told, and he will not be able to work in the yard for a few months--sounds like Dayne is going to be busy.)

Have a great day!! Happy to hear things are going well with Pop and that everyone is doing well!!

Hi Connie! I hope your Dad does okay with the radiation. Pop is entering week three now and for the most part is doing great. Joe went for a visit yesterday and said his Dad was in good spirits and talking about how he is going to beat this. His kidneys started to shut down last week so they started him on some medicine. I guess this is to be expected when you are doing chemo and radiation (and diabetic) so we were told not to worry. I'm so thankful that Pop is doing well. In about 4 more weeks we can all go for a visit.

Hope you're having a great weekend! :goodvibes

Okay, so this day was supposed to start out with a convertible ride and a trip to the beach. We watched the news on Wednesday night and there were pictures of beach erosion and high tides so we decided to cancel. (Sorry Christie!). So yes, once again I didn't make it to the beach so that my girls could see the ocean.

Thursday morning we decided to head over to MK for EMH. We rode a lot of rides with no wait-Peter Pan, Snow White, Pooh, etc. When leaving fantasyland and heading over to tomorrowland we saw the WWE wrestler Shawn Michaels with his family. He was less than a foot away from Joe. Joe was in his own world and totally missed him. I kept slugging Joe in the arm and like the man that he is, he ignored me for the first two slugs. (Joe loves to watch WWE). On the third slug he shouted "WHAT???". Once he realized it was Shawn Michaels he wanted to go talk to him but I told him to leave him alone and let him enjoy Disney with his family. He understood and didn't bother him but we did take this from a distant (just so Joe could prove we actually saw him)...

Lindsey and Joe wrode Stitch's escape and we all rode Buzz Lightyear again. We went back to Haunted Mansion for a ride and then headed over to Tom Sawyer Island. Here are a few pics from that. In all the times I've been to WDW I'd never been to Tom Sawyer's.

The kids enjoyed TSI but for me it was just okay. It was really just a play spot. It would have been nice if they had some benches.

About the time we were done with TSI it was time for the move it, shake it parade. We hadn't seen it earlier in the week so we decided to check it out.

The girls enjoyed this A LOT! Lindsey and Josie got to dance with Goofy. That was a highlight for them.

After the parade we made the decision to go over to AK and catch the jammin jungle parade. On the way out we checked out some of the shops on main street. One of the CM's at the Emporium noticed Joe's b-day button and made a fuss over Joe. He dressed him up, then us (Josie wanted no part of it) and then two male CM's sang a really cute and short b-day song to Joe in front of the whole store. It was fun for sure. They gave Joe a certificate to mark the occasion.. See how silly we look!

Up next...AK and another meet with Mary and family. :goodvibes

After the emporium we took the Monorail to the TTC. We then hopped on a bus headed to AK. We got to AK with about 45 minutes to spare. I had been texting Mary and we saw them over by Lilo and Stitch. We grabbed a seat on the parade route with some popcorn and the girls played and chatted while the adults sat down and took a break. It was fun to watch the parade with Mary. For the last half of it Cayley sat in my lap. She may be full of energy but she is a sweetheart for sure. Here are the pics from the parade and Lilo & Stitch...

After the parade, we decided to take the girls back to Rafiki's planet watch. The girls always like going there. We met Rafiki (Josie would not go near him), Pocahontas and Jiminy Cricket. Jiminy Cricket was a first so that was exciting. The girls also got to pet a snake. Joe and I were creeped out but the girls seemed to really like the experience. Of course you can't go to Rafiki's without brushing the goats. Here are the pics...

After all of this fun, we hopped on the train and headed back to CBR. My brother called while we were on the bus, and he decided to come hang out with us at the pool at CBR. It rained off an on with showers all day this day so while it was somewhat sunny we decided to let the girls go for a swim. Joe took these of the monkeys and the pool...

We ate at CBR's food court and it was okay. The girls enjoyed their sandbuckets from their kid's meals. We had to stop at the beach to let them play a little with them. It was fun to hang out with my brother for a little while.

Up next: Day 7 DTD, Chef Mickey's, and MK

Great updates, sorry you didn't get to the beach, maybe next time!! Just remember that beach!!! :) I haven't heard of any erosion up there, there hasn't been any storms hit this year, and they trucked in LOADS of sand, I'll ask my step mom, she frequents the beach up there all the time. But, looks like you had fun regardless!! Your girls are SOOOO cute!!

Such a great update- Cayley made me go thru the pics 3 times. Avery also joined in. They said how much they liked ur girls and were so excited to see pics of them.
I am still on day 5 of my report. Got some more pics uploaded so will try and get an update soon.
We got to finish up so we can start the PTR's-especially since we can do ADR's at 180 days.
Hope you had a good weekend.

That must have been very disappointing having to cancel your nice day at the beach. It looks like you made the best of it though and had a great time anyways. :thumbsup2

Keep working on Danny. You can be hot in Louisiana or you can be hot in Orlando...I'll take hot in Orlando. :goodvibes

The girls had a great time and Joe had a good time being the center of attention. He's male right...:lmao: We're doing great. Hope you are too. :)

We are definitely planning on hitting that beach next year. I'm saving coke reward points for a free Avis rental which is being allocated to a day at the beach. :thumbsup2 The news was showing clips from the beach and it was flooded with really hide waves coming in. They were warning folks to stay away. As newbs we stayed clear. We still had a good time. One of these times the girls are going to get to see the ocean. :headache: Thanks for the kind words about the girls. :goodvibes

Awwwww....Avery and Cayley are too cute. My girls enjoyed spending time with them too. My goal is to finish by the end of this weekend. Can't wait for your next update. I need to get started on a PTR soon. I have to keep the fun going. I'm so excited about 180 day ADR's. I've already put the 180 day mark in my outlook calendar so I won't forget.:banana::banana:

It was a little disappointing because I really wanted to take the girls to see the ocean. We had a great day though so it all worked out. Maybe next year!
