Downpours, DIS meets, and the Dining Plan - Our Week at WDW May 16-23 Final Thoughts

I have been lurking from work!! All your pictures are fantastic!! Your girls looked so cute after their BBB makeovers!!!:goodvibes

My goodness I am sorry the cake wasn't whatg you expected, but it was so cute!! I was so disappointed when I got my daughters cake in April. Wasn't cute and wasn't very good at all! It was sure pricey though!

What a fantastic diving experience! Love the thumbs up picture!!

I'm so sorry about Hannah. When I lost my Samantha Belle (blue tick beagle), I was devastated. Can't wait to see the new puppy!:goodvibes

Looks like you had a really fun day despite not making it to the beach, and how fun that yours and Marys families are going together next year!!!:cool1:

Wow!!! Hi there! It's so good to hear from you. Sounds like you had the same cake experience I had. We won't be going during a birthday next year so maybe I will get an un-birthday cake delivered to the room from the local store. The one we got in 2008 was fantastic (and WAY cheaper). :goodvibes It will be really cool to hang out with Mary and her family again. I'm trying to talk Connie, Dana, and Christie into joining us too...HINT, HINT.:rolleyes1

We had a good day that day. It rained some but not a whole lot so it was a much better day than the previous three. You just get tired of wearing a poncho ya know. :confused3

I'm so glad you found me. I see in your siggie that you have started a PTR. I will have to check that out. It's so good to hear from you. :goodvibes Hope you and the family are doing well!

What a sweetie you are!! It's frustrating to read along at work and not be able to post. It seems on my nights off I had trouble finding your thread. Of course by the time I am off work I am a bit brain dead!

This next trip will be as bizarre as the last, but at least I am not sick...yet anyway!:lmao:

I must ask!! There is a store that delivers cakes to wdw resorts?? My grandson is now gluten free and wdw says they make gf cakes, but the regular one was not too good, so I am afraid of a gf one. A grocery store may be just the ticket!!;)

Looking forward to reading more!!!

I am caught up again :woohoo:. I really hate that ya'll had to miss the beach. I think it was during our '04 trip we decided to head over to Melbourne because I wanted to see the Atlantic Ocean. We had only ever seen the Gulf. It was a rainy day, but the ride around Melbourne and Cocoa Beach was nice.

We have never been to Planet Watch, but I think we may do it this time. We can take it easy and not have to rush things. I don't think we have ever sit and watched the whole JJ parade either. I did love the Move it Shake it Celebration at MK.

Joe looks like he is embarrassed, but I love it :thumbsup2.

I just found your TR - we were there the same time as you! But it sounds as though our schedules were complete opposites. Oh my gosh - the rain! Wasn't it just unbelievable?? We still managed to have a good time, like you all, but I felt so bad for the people who might have been there for a first or only trip. What a bummer.

BTW, the pic of your little one asleep in her stroller after BBB was absolutely precious! What an angel!

Maybe next year for the beach. Maybe next year you can come to MY beach, even tho I like New Smyrna better. All the beaches here were pretty beat up from all the hurricanes in 04, they had to truck in TONS of sand to rebuild the beaches, I don't think they'll ever be the same. The sand in New Smyrna, is white, it's clean and nice, I went to Cocoa Beach ONCE, by the pier, and the sand was dark, I walked on it barefoot to the bar with my dad, and I had blisters on the bottom of my feet!! I ALWAYS walked on the beach barefoot, cause I hate sand in my shoes, but with the darker sand, it held more heat, and MAN, that was painful!! Learned my lesson QUICK!!

Hi again! Can't wait to read about your upcoming trip. I caught the first few posts but had to get to work so I didn't get to post. I will try to caught up ASAP. I did have a cake delivered. The name of the store is escaping me but I went back to my Outlook calendar (cause I'm dorky like that) and the number I called is 407-827-1200. The cake cost $15 and they delivered it to the conceirge at POFQ. When I got back to the room there was a message to come pick up my package. It was really delicious. I don't know if they do gf or not but it is definitely worth a try. :goodvibes

Rafiki's is a nice quiet train ride and then a little hike. Lots of critters to look at though. Good place to just chill for a little while.

I'm planning a beach day for the next trip....maybe this time we'll make it. I'm not getting my hopes up this time so maybe it will happen after all. :lmao:

I think Joe was a little embarassed but it's good for him. He thinks it's pretty cool now.

Hi there and welcome to my TR! :welcome: The rain was incredible but we had a good time regardless. I felt sorry for folks on their first visit too. We did meet a few families that had never been. I've gone that same week the last couple of years so I kept trying to assure them that the amount of rain was really unusual for this time of year. I hope it didn't completely turn them against WDW. :sad2:

Thanks about the pic of Josie. She does look really sweet in that pic. Are you going to WDW in 2010?

I bet that did stink. I think we're still shooting for New Smyrna but I'll probably get your opinion again when we get closer to our travel dates. Who knows maybe you will have changed your mind.

Hi friend!! I'm all caught up and am sorry I haven't been around the past month. With Ally starting Kindergarten, things have been CRAZY!! I'm trying to get all caught up here on the DIS!! We're still looking at going that same week in May and I'm trying to talk my parents into going with us. They haven't been since 1982 (when they took me when I was 3)!! I want to definitely decide soon since ADR's are back to 180 days!! I'm hoping for some deals again!!

Thank you SO much!! That isn't being dorky, it's called being an awesome planner!!!! Getting it delivered to concierge would be a dream. I'll call Tuesday morning and see if they do GF and if not we are going to bring some of the Betty Crocker mixes. They are actually good!! Thanks again!!:goodvibes

Hiya!!! So glad you made it back safely but sorry your trip is over. It goes by too fast doesn't???:confused3

Thanks!! Before we left I kept saying "3 glorious weeks I'll be ready to come home after that", how wrong I was!!;) I think the longer you have the more slack you are about doing things. We made a point everyday of being back at the resort by 1230 at the latest to enjoy the pool, rest, shower and back out for our dinner ADR's. By the last week all I was thinking is, good god, we haven't done this and that and other stuff:rotfl: Best holiday though I think we've ever had. Loved having the first 11 days with my sis and her family, then 9 days with just Jas and I. She missed her boyfriend terribly so she said next time we go she's not leaving him behind....the be young and in love:cloud9:

Hopefully my sister will get something posted in the next day or two because where she's at in the TR, Jasmine and I haven't arrived yet. I think I may get the pictures loaded onto photobucket today as it's back to work for me tomorrow:sad1:

Just checking in, been very busy getting my mom's house packed up. Miss talking to you.

Becky, so excited to see that you are still planning on the same week!

Hi Leanne,
Great updates! The Aqua seas tour sounds excellent. I'm guessing day 5 was Wednesday and it was just a soaking wet day by afternoon. We were in MK at night and it was thunder storming and just flooded. Abyway also enjoyed your MK/AK day. Yes Joe does look embarrassed in those pics, don't blame him :goodvibes. Love your AK parade pics and the ones from Rafiki's too. We still have yet to see both of those. Happy to hear :yay: you have your trip booked!! I hope you make it to the beach this time. Are you going to stay at Poly?

I tried again Saturday to talk Danny into going back next year the same time!
:confused3
NO GO! TOO HOT AND CROWDED! so, I'm working on him for Jan 2010 at the moment (girl has gotta try) but it looks like it will be the last week of NOV, first week of DEC where they overlap...
So, ya'll need to plan a short Christmas viewing trip :rotfl2:
we are hearing the weather is wonderful and the crowds are almost non existent (for Disney standards)
:wave2:
