Double Dipping w/a Marine and a Mouse... (Update 9/123 pg25-Flying Home!)

10-1 Wednesday Cozumel (part1)
Todays Magnet
Cozumel2.jpg

As always guess who's up at the crack of booty, me, I wake up and grab a cup of coffee add a lil (OK a good splash) Kalua and have a great morning alone on the ship. But up on deck I come to find out its raining.

Rain rain go away... like to that OTHER ship next to us
IMG_1243.jpg

OH man this better stop. I dont let it get to me as I just enjoy my morning with the quietness and warmth of my coffee. I take few pics and then head back to the room.

told E he was back to the mother land
IMG_1264-1.jpg

At this time P is up, and we decieded to get more coffee and milk (as to not have any casualties this time) we then go to Promanade lounge and he works on some homework, while I work on the trip report.

See Mrs. Bacon he did work
IMG_1246.jpg

like my jammies LOL
IMG_1256.jpg

It was great sailing along while 3/4ths of the ship was still sleeping, nice and quiet while we work. We were startled by what appeared outside our window seat. Guess the cleaning is a never ending process!

I need one of these to clean my windows outside.
IMG_1251.jpg

Eventurally P and I head back to the room and wake the rest of the crew up. We all get dressed for the day and we head to Lumiers for sit down breakfast since we havent tried it yet.

at least J looks perky
IMG_1267.jpg

I need more coffee ::whispers:: with kalua
IMG_1268.jpg

We should have done Topsiders as service was a lil slow and it wasn’t that packed... guess we all came at the same time?

That boy was hungry
IMG_1275.jpg

need a shovel babe?
IMG_1276.jpg

P has Mrs. Potts, I only remember cuz he STILL talks about it
IMG_1277.jpg

This had to be mine cuz no one else in my family will eat eggs with "STUFF" in them
IMG_1278.jpg

After breakfast (which was delisious as everything always was) we run back to the room and grab our beach stuff. Then off to meet our excursion in Rocken D at 1015am. We check in and then head out to Mexico.

2 of the ugliest ships were next to us
IMG_1287.jpg

and the SS Boose (left of the short lil mexican kids)
IMG_1441.jpg

We meet our tour guides and they take us on a 3-4 block hike to catch our bus. All the while E is chatting with one of them in spanish and when she starts talking to me I just shrug, since I dont speak a lick. I know I KNOW I KNOW. How can a girl born in Spain raised in Los Angeles married to a mexican not...??? Ya got me. I do know the need to know words, bathroom, food, and beer! All you need to know in ANY language!

(fyi green tint is due to the bus windows not my drunk picture abilities.. YET!)

Driver took us threw the NICEST parts of town
IMG_1417.jpg

anyone looking for a place to live?
IMG_1414.jpg

After a 30min drive we get to Playa Del Mia.
IMG_1406.jpg

We walk through the lil marketplace and find the beach. We (being Disney people) have our own section away from others which is nice. We were in the prime area to see the water trampoline and the Waterberg, along with borrowing water toys. Our excursion included unlimited food AND drink this was one of the highlights of why I booked (duh you should know me LOL)!

Dont mind the beached whale on the left, I dont have photo shop skills to make me look like Heidi Clum
IMG_1298.jpg

Our waiter came around and we got water, sodas for the boys and I told him to keep the margaritas coming.

having a rita for all the peeps back home
IMG_1323.jpg

Later switched to beer as the margaritas were tasty just not potent. I needed as much BANG for my buck. Since E was ... well where he always was off snorkeling as he has done everytime we are in port!

you go my lil mermaid
IMG_1300.jpg

The boys just played in the water a bit. Then they deciede we should get a paddle boat. So off J and I go on a boat and P got on a paddle bike. We rode out to E around the water trampoline (which was nice that our area had our own trampoline and water iceberg, didn’t have to share with the “commen folk” just the dis peeps)

momma worked out enough for another drink
IMG_1319.jpg

We paddle back in as we all are tired. E swims in also and gets on the paddle bike with J and they go out for a short ride. He comes back in and takes P.

3time it flipped before they got the bright idea that BOTH of them shouldnt be on the same side
IMG_1313.jpg

While we were relaxing on the beach P and I order another drink (beer for him, soda for me.... just checken to see if your paying attention LOL). We relax in and out of the water and take a few pics.

We were asked (not harrassed) if we wanted to take pics with the "locals", we deceided not to.

Wanna pic w/this $15

Next Up: Who signed me up for the triathalon?

Hey Drea! You're Cozumel pics look alot like my PV pics! Are you sure you weren't there with me instead?:rotfl2:

Hi Drea, :wave2:

I gotta tell you that I LOVE your TR!
I started reading it this morning and got hooked and read it from start to finish.
I love all your pictures!
It seems we have a lot in common too! My hubby is an ex Marine and he's a huge Cowboys fan like your hubby (even though he was really upset about this season:mad:) And I noticed you're from Temecula! I'm live about an hour or so away from you in Rancho Cucamonga! My hubby likes to drive out there to go to Pechanga and play poker.

But anyway, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your TR. We're gonna be going on our first Disney Cruise on Feb. 28th and so I've been reading TR's and looking at pictures like crazy! I'm so excited!!

Can't wait for your next post!
P.S. I LOVED your picture of your Corona Moment! :thumbsup2

Hey, Drea! Heidi Klum's got NOTHIN' on you, babe- you're gorgeous!! You are so funny with that Kaluhua in the am- I thought of you every morning in St John, because we were having Bushwackers for breakfast pretty often- and I'd be thinkin...Hmmmmmm...kahlua for breakfast...just like that west coast girl Drea!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That beach looks beautiful- we'll have to do that excursion next time we're in Cozumel.

Ellen

Ive read there are nicer ones though.. Like umm the one that starts with a N.. crud I cant remember Nacoum? something like that

Ellen

ps- you REALLY don't speak Spanish?:rotfl: Too funny! Even my kids habla espanol!!
I know the NEED to know words... BATHROOM, FOOD, and of course BEER. I know enough to get me where I need to go. Whats funny is my mom says I have a great accent at pronouncing things. I blame her for my not knowing the language, her and my dad thought OH by the time she grows up she wont need to know it.... btw did I mention my whole family accept me knows it. Thats what I get for being the baby :confused3

OK off to get some comida, and cervezas... if anyone needs to use the bano, do so now... before the next installment comes LOL

I stand corrected!! FORMER Marine! Ha ha! :rotfl: My hubby was like DUH! You would think he's still in though. I told my hubby I found your thread and told him about your hubby and he started with his Marine barking. Once a Marine, always a Marine!

Lookin' forward to your next installment! Even if it's just a lil bit..hee hee!

First Cozumel installlment is great, but where are the Carlos N Charlies vids???
Coming soon, right?:rolleyes1

Of course you haven't been slacking as long as me, so who am I to talk...:rotfl2:

The beach looks pretty nice. Sorry you guys got weak Maragritas. We DID NOT have that problem. And you DID see the nice parts of town...I'll show you the Me-hee-can-oo Ghetto we saw...lol....

10-1 Cozumel (part2)

Once E and J come back in we all get a drink from our lovely waiter whose name I cant remember… Juan, Jose, Jesus, something like that. We play on the beach more, ok the boys did, I was busy… drinking

buried alive
IMG_1358.jpg

IMG_1361.jpg

Then the boys all get this great idea that we should swim to the water trampoline…. OK I’m in. So off we go. Once we get on the trampoline the boys jump E and I try and flag down our waiter to bring us some drinks… what do you mean you wont swim to us LOL.

IMG_1387.jpg

The boys take turns jumping off the trampoline into the water and an awaiting E (just incase).
IMG_1372.jpg

IMG_1368.jpg

E and the boys then get a bright idea, lets swim to the Waterberg (think Iceberg and kids bounce house put together)

IMG_1382.jpg

I ask the boys if they think they can swim all that way since there not Michael Phelps in the least. They say ya, thinking since they have life jackets on they are like AguaMan. So we all jump off and start the long swim there. Once we get there we are all exhausted. It was a long swim especially after the boys said they were tired half way there and E and I had to push and pull them.

So we line up and try and climb this monster of a Waterberg. It just ain’t happening. SO we think 1 by 1 we can do it helping each other. 1st up, J, ya have to start with the smallest. E gets his left foot, I get his right and we push him up, he grabs on but just can’t get going. SO we try P, same thing. E tries… no one has his feet, as he is all on his own. So I look at all of them and laugh, shake my head and say are you kidding me… they all say its too hard mom…. OK WHATEVER.. So there I go.. I don’t get more then 2ins to the 2nd level of the climbing park and fall.. OK your right its hard lets go back. Meanwhile by this time a bunch of other people have started making there way to it and as we pass them say good luck. They laugh at us like just watch.. OH and we did.. Watched them just swim on back to the trampoline. That Waterberg must have been the one that sunk the titanic too cuz it was hard… to get on. Don’t know how those other people were on it. Sorry didn’t get any pics I was either too busy trying to push people up, stay aloat myself, or laughing my gut off! (But if you must know see that big white mountain in the pic of J doing the Russian, that’s the Waterberg!)

(did I mention I used to be a cheerleader LOL)
IMG_1334.jpg

LAND glorious LAND…I grabbed Jose, Jesus, and Juan and told them all beers and keep’em coming. Once I was hydrated again, we decided to grab some chow. That 7mile swim, the 2mile paddling I did got me famished. Our waiter told us where to find the food as he pointed back to where we entered the place from… wait you now want me to hike back to the entrance. Our waiter must have seen my eyes widen as this is where he said, hold on I’ll get you another beer, you’ll need your energy. (true story! LOL)

Once we had all the liquids we would need for our next part of the triathlon, we make our way up to the buffet. They had an ok spread… nothing like we have grown a custom to on the Magic. But it did the job for a very hungry crew. Our waiter even found us and brought another round of drinks for us all! (He got a big tip at the end!)

IMG_1390.jpg

IMG_1392.jpg

IMG_1393.jpg

IMG_1394.jpg

IMG_1391.jpg

Soon we saw clouds and dark sky’s but… it just passed us and not a drop come out!
IMG_1342.jpg

After we refuel, and hit the bano (potty) we go back to our spot in the sand, pack up and decide to head to the pool they had. We relaxed in the pool a bit and then its time to meet our group and head back to the ship.

IMG_1398.jpg

IMG_1395.jpg

lovely hun just what everyone wants a close up of your nose hairs!
IMG_1396.jpg

But first a souvenir stop. I get a shot glass and post cards. The boys also got pull string tops (Which by the way they still play with go figure some old style toy for $3 would keep them so entertained.. Maybe I should take the wii back LOL) Taught the boys how to haggle. She wanted $5 a top. I told P to say $2, and he goes but she said $5 all loud im like DUDE shut your mouth and do as I say…. Trying to save you money. So he says $1 she and I both laugh. He says $2? Again she says no, J then pipes up how bout $3, DEAL OR NO DEAL. I think she thought they were cute enough and made the deal with them. E gets a shirt for him and the boys, apparently I was chop liver, I mean I only planned the whole cruise, why get ME something too. (ya still not bitter though, btw have I told you he got me towels for xmas in 07, ya not bitter over that still either!) Anyhow where was I …. OH ya making our way to meet the bus.

We jump back on the bus and everyone but E pass’s out, or so he says. He said he talked to the Disney tour guide that was with our excursion about us being in port till 1am. The Captain is doing it for all the crews’ hard work during dry dock. Which to us equals a night out in Mexico.

IMG_1292.jpg

another one bites the dust
IMG_1293.jpg

Back at port E decides he wants to look around some so off we go. Come to find out he wants to see if he got a good deal or not at the excursion place where he got the shirts. I don’t know why, its not like he can take back the shirts he got lol. I went there with the intent of buying vanilla. That’s all I wanted and with the boys complaining they were tired, I got no vanilla oh well NEXT TIME. So we make our way back to the ship, had to almost pull E by the ear... hello we are going to be here till 1am, lets take these kids back to where they are happiest and then you can come back. On our way we saw some crazy people as J called them, lol no son they are Aztec Indians (lil lesson on them was given, I believe it went in one ear out the other).

IMG_1421.jpg

Someday you will tell your friends you went to Senor Frogs as a kid
IMG_1430.jpg

Told you all they were monkeys
IMG_1429.jpg

this isn’t like Jenga kid, do not touch the drum sticks
IMG_1428.jpg

can you tell they love when I take pics LOL
IMG_1419.jpg

Eventually we finally get back to home sweet home.
IMG_1431.jpg

Once back on board we drop off our beach stuff at the room and head up to the boys favorite spot Pluto’s dog house, for burgers, chicken tenders and a hot dog, and Goofy’s Galley for me… a pannini YUMMY) We chow down by the pool and head back to our room to shower and change.

Next up: Date Nite at Palo

Awesome update!!

You didn't have to pay for those shark and indian pics??? lol....

Awesome update!!

You didn't have to pay for those shark and indian pics??? lol....

I was afraid they were going to harass me for money since I did that but they just kept on walking and dancing LOL.:cool1: E did give the waiter at Playa Mia a good tip. THen we gave the indians a couple bucks for the "show" so ya I guess you could said I did pay for them, but not "techniqually LOL

Nice to see you back!:rotfl2: It was worth the wait - nice update. Looks like you had a great day -I'm sure I wouldn't have even tried to swim out to the iceberg - I would have required a floaty!:goodvibes Can't wait to hear about your night out!

I loved the update!!!!

I wish we were all still on the Magic! That was such a fun week!

Hey gorgeous! I'm not getting notified of your updates, wonder what's up with that?:confused3 Anyway, OMG, I can't believe that whole iceberg thing! My kids wanted to go there sooooo badly, we almost didn't go swimming with the dolphins because of it!! They would have been soooooooo po'd if they couldn't have climbed that berg!!!

And the place you mentioned to me that begins with an N- is it Nacchi Coccum or something like that? That's supposed to be really nice? I don't think I've really heard about it- I'll have to look it up before the next trip.:cool1:

Missed you!!! Glad you're back!

E

Great installments Drea - you definitely had a ball on that beach! Brilliant photos as ever. So did you get a night out in Mexico!

10-1 Wednesday, Cozumel part 3

So after a snack at the pool we head back to our room where E and I change into our Palo outfits. The boys do a lil reading, while waiting for us.

Just so you remember who they are, your not going to hear or see much of them this round.
IMG_1447-1.jpg

IMG_1448-1.jpg

P decided he didn’t want to go do Karaoke, where he club was doing it, and J wasn’t hungry since they just ate. SO they wanted to walk around. NOPE no deal. So they asked if they could just stay in the room until the next activity started about an hour later. E and I hemmed and hawed and finally said OK. BUT P was to walk and check J into his club and have them text us for when both of them were in there clubs. They were ecstatic. I on the other hand was nervous about leaving a 10yr old in charge of a 6yr old. We told them to not answer the door we have a key, stay together and all that parental stuff. We then headed off to PALO.

IMG_1450.jpg

We had 6pm reservations, and were a tad early, as they weren’t even open yet. So we checked out the art around the lil waiting area.

Only way I remember what we had
IMG_1451.jpg

Once they opened their doors we were lead to our table and greeted by Sebastian. He and I went way back… since the start of the cruise, where he was the one at Rocken D that booked our reservation!

Sebastian asked if we had ever been there as to which we said no its our 1st Disney Cruise. He was so sweet, and so cute… oh sorry E, I think its just the accent that gets ya! He read off the specials and gave his suggestions. He suggested a pomegranate martini and I said SOLD. E got a sprite. Said he was saying the alcohol for later. Off Sebastian went to give us a minute to look over the menu.

Sebation brought over our drinks (which btw, the martini, yummy!) Then brought out the antipasta tray. E, who isn’t a big cheese fan unless its on a burger really liked it all. I was proud he actually tried it.
IMG_1453.jpg

We ordered the Margarita pizza, (I wanted to try something else like the Ai Gamberi, with shrimp and asparagus, but E’s not a fan of pizza so he wanted to stick with something he knows he likes, simple and easy- like me lol)

Next was the Minestrone Soup for E.
IMG_1456.jpg

I tried it and not being a fan of minestrone it was very tasty. I had the Sicilian Pesto Shrimp Salad. VERY GOOD!
IMG_1455.jpg

Just then who gets sat next to us…. Tonya and Mike.. are you all following us LOL (NO pic sorry, you’ve seen them enough you know what they look like. If not go back a few posts LOL)

Instead Ill post one of us LOL
scan0010.jpg

Then came the palate cleaning sorbet.
IMG_1459.jpg

I have to tell you that E looked at me when it was brought out like what I didn’t order dessert, where’s my main course LOL. Thank god for Sebastian he explained to my oh so pretty not so refined husband what it is for. (BTW now when we go to dinner E asks when this is coming.. hunny Chili’s and TGIF’s aint going to have it LOL)

We had brought a bottle of Champaign with us from a local vineyard that we LOVE. Since we figured it was a somewhat special occasion, date night on a family vacation we haven’t had in um forever we should pop.. err unscrew that bad boy open. It was a mini bottle not the regular Champaign size (Cost Plus to the rescue, I also got one for Tonya and Mike, and for our Secret Mickey) we had given it to Sebastian at the start of the night and he kept it on ice for us. Then brought it out for dinner (and he didn’t even charge us the $15 uncorking/unscrewing fee sweet!

Right about now we got a page, J is in his club. A few minutes later, another page, so is P. That just earned them big points with our trust!

Main Course was the Lobster and Marscarpone Ravioli for me.
IMG_1462.jpg

E had the Veal Scaloppini
IMG_1461.jpg

Which amazed me that he didn’t ask for something else then the spaghetti since he again doesn’t like that much either. BUT to my amazement he eats most of it, and said he liked it. There is MAGIC on this boat! So far nothing at Palo was to complain about… food was yummy, waiter too LOL.

I knew what was coming next… the world famous (ok DIS FAMOUS) Chocolate soufflé.

Before
IMG_1466.jpg

When it came Sebastion asked vanilla or chocolate. E went with vanilla, I opted for BOTH. Can we say to DIE FOR! After I finish mine, I notice E has left half of his, he said its too sweet.. WHAT are you CRAZY. So not wanting to waste.. yup I finished his too!

After
IMG_1467.jpg

Sebastian brought out the after dinner shot, I took a swig and after all that chocolate, I had to pass mine to E. It was good just that I was still in chocolate heaven.
IMG_1468.jpg

After Palo’s we went back to our room to change into some jeans and catch Twice Charmed. E went to get drinks and P from Wide World of Sports where they were playing Capture the flag. I went to grab J where he was in Ratatouille Cooking School at the Lab. AND he was picked to be the taste tester. Wish I had grabbed my camera. He made the cutest chef.

We head over to the Disney Theatre and walk in about 5mins into Twice Charmed. The boys even liked it being that its based on my favorite character, Cinderella. After that we walked around the ship and ended up at the Promenade lounge to listen to some music. After a while I think the boys got bored and wanted to go back to their clubs. Off P went, like a pro checking himself in. E and I went and got J settled. This time when they went off we told them they had to stay with their club until we got them later that night as we were going on a date. Believe me they were fine with that, there was nowhere they would rather be then in their clubs!

Since we were alone we hit the beverage station and filled our cups with some more “water” let the games begin. We went to Rocken D and saw a performer…, which I have no clue who it was? I’m sure it was funny…but no lasting impression. Oh well! Tonya and Mike joined us catching the end of the show. When they started their Spring Break Bash we decided it was time to check out the Cozumel nightlife.

Along the way we saw a cousin from our RC Cruise.

Its Henry!
IMG_1470.jpg

We walked back to our rooms to grab cameras, money, saw tonight’s towel animal that we left for the boys.

I ate your friend for dinner!
IMG_1471.jpg

NEXT UP: Disney Crew Gone WILD, and umm have you seen E?

:lmao: I'm not sure why, but I totally cracked up when I saw this pic. I have a weird sense of humor!

I was  at all your Palo pictures...I want to be there now! Heck, after getting nearly 20 inches of snow here on Monday, I'd settle for ANY place with sunshine!

Drea - I just spent the last couple of hours reading your TR. You did a nice job with your commentary and your pictures - - I'm getting more and more excited about our April 18th Western cruise!!

So I'm curious about the Passporter - do you think it's worth buying (or borrowing if I can find one)? Did you get a lot of good info from it?

Again, I'm enjoying your reports, and I'm looking forward to more!:surfweb:

Thanks for the compliments glad you joined.

I read mine from the library. Within like a week. I learned a lot from the DIS. Even if we did another personally I dont think I would buy one. I would just go back to the library and get a refreshers course. 2nd option go to Barnes and nobel and read the updated parts :rolleyes1 lol. But thats ME. I know others that carry like there cruise bible. I would definatly borrow if you can. That way if your itinerary changes you know excursions that are happening on the eastern and can book accordingly. But to answer your question YES it was jam packed full of info!

Hope you plan on doing a trippy.. I need more reading material LOL
