My DH and DS are wondering if there are any fellow NC cruisers on this cruise? We are from Hendersonville, NC near Asheville. Can't wait to go. This is our first Disney cruise but not our first cruise. Have a happy and safe 4th.

Hiya!

We're from NC - A little south of Raleigh. I believe there are at least 2-3 other families from NC, but Kimberly (Buckeye Gal) should be able to confirm how many of us there are. We are me, DH & DD (5). How old is your DS?

Are you planning driving down or flying? At this point, we'll be driving - pretty much a straight shot as we're only about 45 min or so from I-95.

I must admit I misss the NC mountains dearly. Spent a few yrs at App State & the mountains really got into my soul. You're lucky they are so close to you. Every time we head west through the mtns, I feel like I'm coming home.

I couldn't remember if I posted this yet....

I keep reading and hearing about flying issues do I finally logged onto Delta to see if I had any flight changes. I did:

6:55 leave AZ arrive in Atlanta at 1:40
Leave Atlanta at 1:30 arrive at MCO later (I forgot the time)

Called Delta - it took them 25 minutes to understand the issue (this is in addition to the hold time...)

So it is fixed now but can you believe they did not catch that overlap in time? I mean the disney websight will not let you double book, you would think an airline would have something in place.

With stuff like this & all the other things - bad customer service, high prices, fuel surcharges, bag checking surcharges - I'm amazed the full fare airlines are still in business.

I am trying to talk Jeninpa into not going to MNSSHP then we could fly later and not need a hotel the night before. No success so far. (Are you lurking Jen??????)

Have you been to MNSSHP? It is a lot of fun! We are going to the Fri. night party too. We're flying down on Thurs. just to take advantage of a great rate we got at the CR (MK view!) and to do the party on Friday.

I don't know what advice to give you on which airline to take. I would do the one that is the most dependable with the least stress if it is at all affordable.

I agree! I understand the need to make changes but I do not understand nor will I ever accept that they need to make the changes without consulting the consumer! Now that would be a noval Idea!! Ask the consumer what will work best if a filght adjustment is needed. Lois

Another day closer to the cruise. It's only 3 weeks until I leave for my family vacation with my DBF to WDW so I'm getting excited! I'm listening to Park Hopper Radio on Live 365 as I type this!!!!

No, we've never been to MNSSHP. I've been to WDW 3 times, but Jen and the kids have never been there. Didn't even know about MNSSHP until I starting reading post here.


What is CR?

I feel like I am whining about $$$ on this trip only because my DH is retiring the day we fly. I know we can afford for him to retire, but I am a chronic worrier (about everything) and I know money will be less then.

Right now, it's playing the sound track from a ride or a show...one of the characters is "Jules" and Robin Williams is another character voice? Some sort of travel through time? What in the world is this? Anyone? Something about a time machine....

Well, I finally have one thing more crossed off my list. Almost two weeks ago, (Monday, June 23rd), my DS and I went to apply for our passports (I had always just used a BC on the last two 4-day cruises). So, DS received his passport on the 30th!! I've been waiting (not so patiently) for my passport to show up. Well, it finally arrived today!!!!

I realize that it's still a great turnaround. It's just weird since we both went at the same time and I know our applications were clipped together since I wrote out one check. As noted above, he received his on the 30th (so really less than a week turnaround) and mine shows that is was issued on July 1st (a day after he received his). Just shows how strange it can be as to how they handle them.

So the list of must-do's is getting shorter!!

It was the old TimeKeeper attraction at MK. It was located where Monster's Inc Laugh Floor is now. It wasn't always open and when I was at my MNSSHP in 2004, it was actually used for taking the party pictures! It was a fun attraction while it was open.

I just saw your son's passport yesterday morning. It looks different from my pre-9/11 passport! It's interesting to see how much they have changed.

It is from the Time Keeper attraction (circle vision show) that used to be in Tomorrowland at the MK. That are is now Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club.

I'm a Live365 VIP and my two favorite stations are Sorcerer Radio and Mouse World Radio.

We'll be at CR (MK view with a good rate as well!) starting Wednesday. The big kids love CR, and always wanted to stay in the tower (we stayed in the Garden wing on military rates once), so I figure, why not? We're usually six, but with dh away, we're only 5. This will be our last chance at a tower room for a while. We're not going to MNSSHP- too expensive for the five of us, and we're meeting up with my sister who doesn't want to go again.

BUT: MNSSHP is great! We had a blast every time we went, even though it poured like crazy last time.

We're going to MVMCP this year to check that out.

We got our next-to-the last duck in a row- I finally booked our transportation to and from the port. Now all I need is parking at Philly airport.

That's awesome - we'll have to keep an eye out for each other. We did MNSSHP last year the night before the cruise and it was a "rain out" - so they let us exchange the tics for 1 day tics to the MK. We are going to use those Thurs. to get in to the MK to hang out and Fri we'll do the MNSSHP. I hope for no rain this time! I agree it is pricey. I would love to to the Christmas Party sometime.

We stayed at the Contemporary (CR) once too - in the wings. We are looking forward to trying the tower and seeing the renovations.

I am leaving on Tuesday the 8th and will be at our Florida home in Winter Garden until August 19th.. I have some things to do at the house that we have been putting off.. I need to make an appointment with a Window Treatment specialist, Find an odd size area rug for the dining room, Pick out a chair for my desk, Hang pictures on the Wall, Get some Disney Art Work framed and a bunch of other odds and ends..

Of course I will still find some time to visit Disney
