For me, I chose 40 days of no soda because that is my biggest downfall. (empty calories) I had 40 days of water, milk or lemonade only.

So funny you posted this. I always say if I could just give up Coke (I can't stand the diet stuff) that I would loose all the weight I want to. Then, just this morning I told Marika starting tomorrow (we are going to a late coneert tonight and I DO plan on having a Coke to keep me up for the drive home) I want to try to stick with water and iced tea (unsweetened--which is how I like it) for drinks all the way until WDW. *Think pink Barbie dress, think pink Barbie dress. . .*:rotfl2:

Thank you TheDisneyGirl02 and Buckeye Gal!!

It is on my own, there is a 150$ difference between direct and Disney! But I guess I should add the cab...

Yes you seem like a fun bunch! I will try to read all the thread tonight! This is our first cruise and I'm very excited but very worried about pretty much everything, starting with "what if the ship sink?"...:scared1: Can you guess my type of personnality...

Well don't be shy to ask away your questions, Salome! We have lots of experienced cruisers and exeperienced DCL cruisers here who are all extremely willing to answer any question! Hey...what can we say? We love to talk cruising!

thanks again BuckeyeGal!!
I think I will love to use your advise!!!

About my dolphin problem, do you think it would be wise to book with Disney (and pay 150$ more:eek: ) to be sure to be on time or to take a chance with the 3h30PM direct??

For Grand Cayman we booked with Disney, the difference was not that Big!! We will do the atlantis semi-submarine et the pirate encounter pirate:

I have been giving some thought to the weight loss challenge. Here are my two ideas thus far. 1) we could all keep track of who is doing it and at the end if we have met goal we could exchange names and then swap a small, small gift or 2) if we meet our goal we could meet somewhere on ship and celebrate with each other. Any other suggestions?

The only way I know is to perhaps post or PM to someone what your goal loss is (not your weight) and then just be honest if we met it or not by sail date.

We could have ideas, challenges, recipes, etc. to get us and keep us motivated until time. I am personally starting a 40 day challenge. I did this last summer when I lost some of my weight. For me, I chose 40 days of no soda because that is my biggest downfall. (empty calories) I had 40 days of water, milk or lemonade only. Very tough but I did it. That is what I am going to do this time in addition to trying to limit my sugar intake and increase my fruits and veggies. Basically healthier eating. I couldn't believe how much better I felt off the sodas. Slept better, felt better and much less grouchy.

Please post or PM ideas for the challenge. Have a healthy day.

Im in! I plan to eat better and hopefully get some exercise in, we did go to the pool but are heading out to Crissichef's PopPop's viewing tonight which is over an hour away. I ddi GREAT on food choice today and plan to have a subway sandwich for dinner, HOPEFULLY forego the chips and getting in lots of water! I would love to lose 20 lbs by the cruise but I will got with 10:)
Should we have an email loop to keep us chatting so we everyone who doesnt need to lose weight doesnt have to read about all our complaining:rotfl2:

Welcome Salome. It is always nice to have another planner/worrier to join us:rotfl: After you check out post #1 you can try to keep up (nearly impossible) with new posts and hopefully post yourself once in a while so we get to know you a bit better:)
So who all is traveling with you? Personally it will be me and my DH and the kids are DD11 (Marika) and DS9 (Rio). Plus, we convinced some of our freinds from our last cruise to rebook this one with us so when you see Tig82174 (Erik and Jason), Hoagie Pie (Sandi and Darrell and one of my DDs bestest friends Abby) or Scoopypop (Chris and RObert) posting you'll know we are all one big, DCL loving friendly family:goodvibes

Make sure your vote is counted by voting in the poll on the right on the front page of the website! :rotfl: Especially as your vote matches mine!!! :rotfl2: Sorry, Hadley and Erik!

:lmao:
No, no it's all good.....if peopel want the air conditioning and the bar..that's totally cool...just Hadley's family and Jason and I won't be there becuase we never miss the sailaway party! We're bubble blowing line dancing mickey screaming fools!! :cool1: :cool1:

Hi NHdisneylover!

I just looked at the firsts pages of the thread and, after all the nice information, it is a bit confusing, well to me...:rotfl:

We are a family of 4; me, my husband, 6yo son (Frédéric) and 4yo girl (Viviane) We are from Quebec and speak french so if what I say is not always clear, please forgive me! My children speak better english than me:lmao:

I am the Disney maniac of the family, but slowly but surely I can see the changes in my husband... He wanted to do something different this year than DisneyWorld!! I suggested a Disney cruise:rotfl: The problem is I usually turn green the moment I step on a boat and nervous about the sea...Well, I'm sure everything will be fine, can't wait to be there!!:woohoo:

Welcome Salome!

Exceedingly weird question... So I know some of you are driving to the port. Do you play a car game where all the livestock on your side of the road are "yours"? So if you're the passenger and you pass 3 cows and 5 horses, you tally those? Whoever has the most livestock at the stopping point is in the "lead"?

Fiona's in love with math currently, so this is one of our ways to teach simple arithmetic.

I need caffeine this morning... desperately...

Someone else already said this, but we used to do "cows in the graveyard" - you get a point if you pass cows, but you lose one every time you pass a cemetary. We were sick children. ;)

It seems nearly everyone has a special treat they get at WDW and it is truly part of the experience for them (Dole Whips and Turkey Legs are often cited), so what is the special treat you look forward to having only at Walt Disney World???

Well, it USED to be those tollhouse ice cream cookie sandwiches, but we can never find them any more! For me, I think it is the strawberry/vanilla ice cream soft serve swirl thing you get over by the teacups. I can't remember what it is called. I always had one when I went as a child to MK and I carry on the tradition! It is second only to the chocolate souffle at Palo :goodvibes

Lionel will probably pick the oolong peach schnapps slushie at China in Epcot. It's pretty spectacular, especially on a hot summer day!

Scene: My house at 4 am this morning.
Fiona: Mommy, let's watch PETER PAN! I don't WANT to sleep any more!
Me: GO TO SLEEP NOW!!!

Five minutes later: DH and kiddo are both snoring away. Me, not so much. No more sleep for Mommy! Third time's the charm!

--->Does that explain my mental state to everyone??? That was the third time (count'em--ONEtwoTHREE!!!) she had woken me up that night!!! :headache: Of course, while DH snOREd away, blissfully unaware of the mommy monster beside him. :rotfl:

Yeah, I need lots of caloric intake to comfort me and keep me awake today. :rotfl:

RULLLLES, Lillian! RULES!
:rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Our household is doing the same thing. We both changed our diet ALOT to include more frest fruits and vegetables (especially greens) and less processed stuff. We still have a treat (or three) on the weekend but I have lost an entire size and he has lost.....well, a little bit less than that, but he's trying so hard! We did go to the gym yesterday for the first time since May, so that's progress.

I'm less concerned about my formal night dress, which hides many sins, and more concerned about the fact that all of my bathing suits are bikinis! :scared1:

Should we have an email loop to keep us chatting so we everyone who doesnt need to lose weight doesnt have to read about all our complaining:rotfl2:

I am in too! I started my diet last week and it is going great! My diet has been perfect so far this week (yes, I know it is only tuesday :lmao: ) but I am very motivated. I need to buy new cruise clothes!

Hi NHdisneylover!

I just looked at the firsts pages of the thread and, after all the nice information, it is a bit confusing, well to me...:rotfl:

...We are from Quebec and speak french so if what I say is not always clear, please forgive me! ...

Yikes...sorry you're confused about Post #1. It wasn't suppose to do that!! Just ask if you need clarification to anything. Someone here will fill ya in.

That's so funny that you mentioned you speak French because earlier I almost posted a question to ask you if you spoke the language. I noticed you typed "et" for "and". You're awesome at your writing skills if you primarily live and breath French!

We have several others from Canada with us on this cruise. When I get home, I'll gather some stats for you on that as well as how many other children are the same age as yours.

As far as the Dolphin Encounter at 3:30...honestly I would feel horrible if I suggested that you go ahead and do it on your own instead of through DCL and you don't make it back. So I'm going to leave that decision up to you! Maybe Tonya will be able to provide some insight on her decision to go with 3:30. Anyone else have an opinion???

:lmao:

The Promenade meet would be at 3... before the muster drill(4:00 pm)... the muster drill is immediately before the Sail Away Party (5-5:15 pm start time). I thought the meet on Deck 10 was after Muster Drill, before the Sail Away party...

Conceivably, we could do meets at both times, at both places... *hrrrrmmmm* Can I bribe you to get air conditioning? What will it take, MAN??? Just tell me!!!

:rotfl:

Salome: Hiya! The boat will be leaving Cozumel (as the schedule -currently- states) at 6:30 pm.

Based on that information, if you prefer to book that excursion yourself, you might be fine.

I'm a big wuss, though, when it comes to excursions. :rotfl: I've had a 4 day reversed itinerary, and a 7 day that stayed late in Cozumel as a reward to the crew. I don't trust the stated itinerary AT ALL.

ETA: I looked at the information wrong!!! Sorry about that!!! It looks like the 10:45 am excursion ENDS at 3:55, not begins! Sorry about that!

Question of the week:

DBF - He said "anything at WDW is a special treat, but I really look forward to my vanilla ice cream in a sugar cone".

Me - Let's see...pretty much anything too! I LOVE the Rice Krispy Squares with M&M's in them, and for some reason, the popcorn at WDW is awesome! I don't know what they put in it...probably magic but it just tastes like the best popcorn ever!

:)

Weight Loss Count me in. I really need some motivation. I would like to get ino some of the nice clothes I already have instead of buying more in a lrger size...even as much as I love shopping. Plus this baby fat has to go!

Sailaway party....I am one of those against PL. Mainly because of the size of the area and of the timing. To me that area seems claustrophobic even when there *aren't* people "meeting" in there. Don't ask me why. I imagine it will be annoying with all the people going to & from the PC buffet, and isn't that where they have a million tables set up to sell the water and wine packages and such? Plus the 3:00 time is when my kids like to do the pool, its like their routine when getting on the boat. Ron too wanted to relax for awhile after getting onboard. I guess if nothing else Sarah and I will still be there if it in PL...ha ha. I see the poll results are closing in....

I'm ready for a final FE count too. I've been waiting to make my order for the # of cabins participating...:thumbsup2

hi Salmone!

did you try calling them directly? I called on the phone and I was able to get into a 2pm time slot. it was not available online when I booked.
they were great on the phone to deal with too.

We will be dancing fools at the Sail away party too. :) we vote for deck 10 too.

Thank you again Buckeye Gal and Fizzgig!

You are absolutely right about the dolphin, and I don't want to put anobody in that position:goodvibes

I think I would like to go and live dangerously :rotfl: ....but I'm not so sure myself about how confident I am about it!!

mmmm I will talk with my husband when he get home....Well, I knew I should have take care of that before today!:lmao:

For my english skills, thank you for the compliment! I know I have to work harder but I read and watch tv in english most of the time and it helps! And reading the disboards too! Now that I'm registered, I will improve the writing part too! You can correct me anytime:teacher:

Hi Magic3forme!

I did not call (but I will ask my husband when he get home) But I did use the "chat online" and the representant agree that the 3h30 PM only was available. But maybe calling direct is a better idea. Did you call today?

Salome: I'm really sorry, I looked at the info on the Disney website wrong. The 10:45 excursion ENDS at 3:55 pm. Sorry about that! If you look on the Disney website for that excursion, you'll see where I went wrong.

Sorry about that!

Salmone: I called a few weeks ago. When I talked to the lady she originally offered me 3:30 and I really didnt want it. I really politely pushed and I was given a 2 pm slot. Maybe call and ask for the time slot. It wont hurt to try. When I called they had 3 slots for the 1:00 pm. according to the website it was full.
She also told me to call a few weeks prior to the cruise if I wanted to get into the 1pm time frame.
