Here is a solution: Don't use room service. Have someone run up to deck nine to get the coffee and then you use the energy and calories to get the coffee so you can eat more at meals. One day closer and still counting!!!! Lois

:lmao: Now that is "cruisercize"

Wow...even 12 ???
There might be hope for FL residents rates after all........:rolleyes1

How AWESOME would that be? Rum cakes for everyone! :rotfl2:

and drum roll please Cabana couples massage on our last day at 10am. (which seemed to be the last spot... SORRY :confused3 ) but YEAH for me and E:cool1: he will be so surprized!

Tried for the Rasul :rolleyes1 lol but nothing for at Sea when I wanted it.. Oh well just another reason we will have to re book LOL :woohoo:

The couples massage sounds great! I wanted to do that with Lionel but he doesn't like massages. Who is this guy? :confused3

You can try to go to the spa onboard and book the Rasul, I'm sure there will be more times available. But like you said.....there's always the next cruise! :thumbsup2

Trust me on this one:thumbsup2...we've been on 4 cruises so far and have yet to be denied a Palo reservation. My best advice is to wait it out in line when you get on the ship...think they open the Rockin D' Bar at 1:00. Don't panic :scared1: about the line...it's going to be LOOOONG...did someone mention party  ?

I think we should all meet in line with a drink. We can definitely start our own party. We got brunch at 105 but our companions at 90 could not :guilty: so we will be there too! Ah well. We'll be among friends.

I'm happy to say I was able to log in by creating a dummy account for my mom's stateroom; our reservations are linked so I could book excursions for all of us that way. WHEW! We got everything we wanted, although we had to be flexible on the times.

I still have no idea what's wrong with my reservation - I cleared my cookies and cache, rebooted my computer, even tried it from my sister's computer - no luck. :confused3 I heard back from my TA and she said it shows as PIF on the TA site; she'll call DCL tomorrow to find out what's going on.

But YAY I'm so excited! We're going on a Disney Cruise!

I'm so glad you got on! How strange about your ressie!

OOOH! I just remembered something, so I'm writing it here so I have it when I get home. I was working on my To-Do List this weekend, and I just remembered that I want to make scrapbook pages for visitors to stop by and sign!! My primary concern with this one is keeping th4e 12"x12" paper crease-free during my travels.

I also want to drop off something off at Guest Services for the characters to sign during the week. I've come up with only two ideas. One is a photomat, and the other is getting signatures put on transparency paper, which I can use to overlay on my scrapbook pages. Does anyone have any other brillant ideas they are willing to share for a possible steal? :)

I love both of those ideas! I might steal the photomat thing myself. I have no crafty ideas of my own. That's why Tiffany is making my fish extender :rotfl:

Try calling DCL and explain what happen, if you push the issue they CAN BOOK ON THE PHONE. Two years ago when I was booking an excursion for the dolphin excursion I could't get it to come up on the computer, but was in the book of excursions. The person said they had a clitch in the system and was able to book over the phone so it seems they CAN do it if they have to.

Have you thought of putting your 12X12 paper(s) in a tube while you travel? That way, just rolled up & (hopefully) no creases.

What are you planning on doing w/what you have signed by the characters? I think that really determines what type of medium you'd use.....Haven't seen anything posted before about transparency paper - very clever. Would you have to supply special pens w/that?....

Btw, welcome back. Glad you had a good time during your weekend get-away. We really missed seeing your posts (ok, I missed seeing your posts).

 Thanks you!

What am I planning on doing with my signatures? Great question. I suppose that's why I'm so open to any idea. In the end, I suppose you can say I want to have real use of it so it can been seen and last "a lifetime". I love the pillowcase idea for the munchkins. That's something that they would see almost everyday and get excited about because of the memory of the cruise and their love of the characters. With the exception of a hat, I think most apparel would be too disposable for what I personally desire. Hmmm....I did buy a new sunhat on DisneyShopping.com. That might be cute.

My understanding is that you do need to include fabric or permanent markers depending on what you leave. I have a rainbow of Sharpies that I'm 90% certain will work perfectly fine on the transparency paper, so that wouldn't be an additional cost to me. :) I better test that idea though!

BTW, if anyone is considering this transparency autograph idea, you'll want to cut your pieces to 4.5" x 6". That gives you a half inch border on the left that you can hole punch to put a ring clasp through to keep them all together. When you get home, cut off the half inch border to dispose of the punched hole, and it will fit perfectly over a standard size photo or you can cut it down to position it anywhere else on your scrapbook page (like under a picture or as part of your journal box).

Huh...imagine that! Roll the paper up! I tell ya....I have been soooo bad at thinking outside of the box lately. Stress does the strangest things to you. That would probably work as long as I don't use thick cardstock to represent the photo positions. I can work with that idea!! Thank you!!!!!!!!

...I think we should all meet in line with a drink. We can definitely start our own party....

Brilliant idea! Why wait for the Sail Away Party to get a colorful beverage?! I guess by default I'll be sending mom off to the spa to get our appointments moved so I can join you guys! :woohoo:

Hi everyone,
Just checking in on the new thread - thanks Kimberley. Wow can't believe so much chatting going on that I've missed out on. Have read through a few pages back and will need to read all the way back to the last thread to catch up. I really need to try and pop in more often. I have been pretty busy but can't wait to be back on the Magic in September - my DH keeps asking how many days left - the little 3-night cruise squeezed in on the Magic will be our very first time alone together on the ship without our DD who'll be joining us for the 7-night. I'm sure it will feel strange not having her there but I'm sure we're going to enjoy every minute.
Crissi - so sorry to hear about your loss. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
:welcome: Welcome to all the newbies .... Ag shame - I'm so sorry for those who didn't manage to get the reservations they wanted but there should be available at Rockin' bar D.
Lois thanks for posting the countdowns - we also arrive on the 20th so they work perfectly for us too!
the scrapbooking and signature idea's are great - may steel some of those for myself.
Party and a colourful drink in the hand - now that sounds like a plan!

Lois...thank you for showing those beautiful numbers! I REALLY can't wait until next week when the number in front of the word "Month" in my ticker turns to a "1"!!!

I'm going up to visit my mom and grandmother this weekend so we can work on cruise stuff! :goodvibes The plan is do to the following:

  • make 3 or 4 fish extenders to swap out during the week (especially want one just for Pirate Night day)
  • finish making one more FE gift
  • assemble FE goodie bags
  • shop for pirate costume material
  • review the general packing list so we don't have duplicates packed
  • assign the rescheduling/scheduling mission tasks for when we get onboard

OH I LOVE THAT!!!! The trasparency idea that is! Stealing it LOL

I thought I read someone said a tube thats probably a good one.. or a photo envelope the type you get your pics back from like the Picture people or walmart at the bottom of your suitcase is another idea.

Im also doing 2 photo mats for the boys

Hi all. Been busy. Was in CT visiting parents.

Flew lovely Airtran which I know many of you are flying.

As far as no frills airlines go it was fine.

I do like for the 2nd bag if you pay on line it is only $10 vs. $20 at airport.

I guess I got to get planning a bit more for this cruise. It is coming faster than I thought.

Here is a solution: Don't use room service. Have someone run up to deck nine to get the coffee and then you use the energy and calories to get the coffee so you can eat more at meals. I try to walk up the stairs as much as possible so I can keep my weight down as much as possible.

I like the pre-breakfast, though, that was cute and I understand your reasoning. Really sound like something I would do.

One day closer and still counting!!!! Lois

I also want to lose some weight before the Disney Cruise. I had lost about 8-10 pounds over the last year which doesn't sound like much, but I kept it off and bought myself a lot of new clothes (in a smaller size) to celebrate. Now I am slowly putting it back on and new clothes aren't fitting too great. I refuse to get out and buy more clothes again in a bigger size. We went out of town this weekend to celebrate my b-day and of course I had a major blow out weekend with the food. I don't even want to know what I weigh now. Tomorrow is back to exercise and eating right. Sooooo anybody want to get some sort of challenge going? Nothing fancy, expensive or dictating but fun? :mickeyjum:

THIS IS JUST WHAT I NEED! I have also lost some weight since the New Year, but with summer, kids home and not getting to the gym, I need to get moving so I can fit in my clothes for the whole cruise:)

I plan to start on the treadmill again tomorrow and watch what I am eating!

IM IN! I need some moto.. I hit the gym but my food intake not so good! LOL. I had lost some but it too has now found me again! LOL. I just noticed my ticker for picking up E and realized he will be home in aprox a month so I need to get back to business to surprize him :rolleyes1

I'm definitely in for a weightloss challenge. I've recently lost 48 lbs and sometimes it's hard to stay motivated, since I still have more than twice that left to lose. I know that slow and steady will win this battle in the long run, though, so I keep plugging along. :)

What?! Drea, you don't need to lose more weight crazy! Yeah, I think I gained your weight you lost.. lol

Whoo hooooooo, that's great! Keep up the good work. As long as you keep eating right and exercising, it will come off in no time. Good luck :)

On June 27, we opened up a poll on our DIS Double Dip website to vote for a time and location for our DIS Meets. Only two suggestions have come up as options, so I wanted to encourage anyone who has not yet voted to do so.

Options

  • Deck 10 immediately prior to Sail Away Party
[*] meet up on the top deck in the warm sunshine and fresh breeze going through your hair
  • Promenade Lounge before Muster Drill - 3:00
[*] relax and mingle comfortably in air conditioning with seating
Currently, Deck 10 has a vote of 26 and the Promenade Lounge has a vote of 16.

"Hey! Aren't you <insert name here>"?

For those of you with our customized lanyards, you'll be easy to spot. If you don't have a lanyard, you may want to consider printing up DIS lime green Hidden Mickeys or pick up sample paint cards from Home Depot to pin/stick to your shirt so we can identify you and your family as well!

Exceedingly weird question... So I know some of you are driving to the port. Do you play a car game where all the livestock on your side of the road are "yours"? So if you're the passenger and you pass 3 cows and 5 horses, you tally those? Whoever has the most livestock at the stopping point is in the "lead"?

Fiona's in love with math currently, so this is one of our ways to teach simple arithmetic.

I need caffeine this morning... desperately...

Well Monday slipped right by me again. So, to motivate everyone to lose weight NOW so we can splurge on the trip here is a food question of the week.

It seems nearly everyone has a special treat they get at WDW and it is truly part of the experience for them (Dole Whips and Turkey Legs are often cited), so what is the special treat you look forward to having only at Walt Disney World???

For me it is the sweet pretzles (no almonds thank you;) ) from the Kring La bakery in the Norway Pavillion:love: Those are the BEST. I have been known to walk half way across EPCOT to get one (by which time I figure I have probably burned enough calories to enjoy it guilt free anyway:rolleyes1 ).

Dave: The giant toll house cookie ice cream sandwhiches. Yes, technically you can get them other places, but he only lets himself splurge on them at WDW and he loves them.

Marika: The frozen bananas:hippie:

Rio: on a hot day it's Mezzo Mix in ice station cool (that is the German soda which is half orange soda and half coke:sick: --he mixes it at home too but doesn't feel he ever gets it as good) and on a cold day he says the pizza at Pizzafari which is delicious and warms you right up
