I'm happy to say I was able to log in by creating a dummy account for my mom's stateroom; our reservations are linked so I could book excursions for all of us that way. WHEW! We got everything we wanted, although we had to be flexible on the times.

I still have no idea what's wrong with my reservation - I cleared my cookies and cache, rebooted my computer, even tried it from my sister's computer - no luck. :confused3 I heard back from my TA and she said it shows as PIF on the TA site; she'll call DCL tomorrow to find out what's going on.

But YAY I'm so excited! We're going on a Disney Cruise!

I'm glad you got everything worked out and got what you wanted! Very frustrating!

Have a great evening!

Tiffany

Thank you all so much for all the good thoughts and support. My family and I really appreciate it. You are all so awesome. It has been a really tough few days and one of the only things I have to look forward to right now is this cruise. I am really touched by all the great people here on the DISboards. This is the first grandparent that I have lost and I am 35. I just have to keep reminding myself how fortunate my family and I are to have them around so long. The next few will be even harder as we have the wake on Tuesday and the services on Wednesday, which happens to be my brother's birthday. My brother was named after my father who was named after Pop-Pop, so this is really going to be a hard day. My Nana, however is hard as nails......she called my Uncle a sissy and told him to stop crying after he had passed. He is probably in heaven now laughing at all of us. I will have to bring his recipe along for the "Carusos" AKA VO Manhattans that he drank every day as long as I can remember so we can have a toast to Pop-Pop.

Thanks again,
Crissi

I got the butterfly/bus tour in Grand Cayman with DBF's DMom and DNana so I'm very happy about that! :) I also got the Castaway Cay Getaway package too for the first day at CC! I can relax now!!!

I looked but I don't see anything available for Palo! We weren't planning on going...but still that is crazy!

Great! Sorry I never answered the four calls to my cell - I fell asleep on the couch, my phone was in my purse on the table and I guess these old ears never heard it :listen: ring !!!!

Did you only book the get-away package for the one day?

A little OT, but I wanted to share.
I call my 84 year old Aunt every day to check on her. She has a live-in care taker but no daughters, only two sons who call once a week.
She is upset because her oldest brother's daughter (age71), passed away on a car trip home from Disney World to New Jersey on Monday. She said, "how can anyone who has a heart condition subject themselves to a trip to WDW with their children and grandchildren"??
Being a DISER, I said, "I can".....
Now Aunt Irene is mad at me for saying that...........
Her neices name was Eleanor and she was indeed coming back home from "the happiest place on earth" with her children and grandchildren.
Michele

How terrible for that family. I certainly hope for the childrens sake she did not pass while in the car.

Way to go to all you "booking virgins":cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

The grandkids wanted to watch Poseidon last night of all things. My DH kept saying that is why he doesn't cruise during the movie :happytv: :happytv:

He was on our first cruise and had a good time, but said that was his first and last. I think it has something to do with his not being able to swim, we even had a pool for 20 years and he refused to try. He would jump in, go under, and float but not swim. :rolleyes1

I want to leave this earth that way. I want to be able to truely live until I die. I refuse to just stay home so I can live longer and if I ever get so unhealthy that I can't play I see no reason to remain here. DL, WDW and DCL here I come until the very end. I am sure that your aunt is just striking out in her sorrow at the loss she just had. I also hope that it wasn't an unpleasant experience for those traveling with her. Lois

Thanks to everyone for your support in the voting. I think it did really help. To be honest I don't think they even counted, considering I got a call literally 5 minutes after voting technically ended.

Currently, I'm cheering for Washington's new Tennis team, the Washington Kastles. The Washington Capitals (Hockey) are also starting a team (the first year, there might not be as much dancing, but I'm sure we could make it what we want to make it). So, things are looking good.

Crissi -- Hugs! :grouphug:

Also, we got reservations for Victoria & Albert's for the Saturday night after we disembark. I'm very excited. I do believe I'm going to gain a good 20 lbs on this vacations! :lmao:

Congrats to everyone who got their excrusions booked. I will meet everyone at Rockin Bar D to try to get a Brunch date for this cruise. If not it will be OK. Lois

One day closer and still counting!!!! Lois

Congrats to all the 75'ers for finally being able to make their reservations. :)
We might be at Rockin bar too to get Brunch reservations. it will be a big party in there too.

I think we might just go shop at GC and then enjoy the quietness of the pools. :)

Congrats to all who made it through last night's booking & were able to get what you wanted. (Drea: congrats on the score for the last online cabana couples massage. I was wondering who would snag that one.) I well remember the stress when the booking window opened. Aren't ya glad that part of things is past? Now we can all get on to really counting down the days 'til the cruise starts! :thumbsup2

The Washington Capitals (Hockey) are also starting a team (the first year, there might not be as much dancing, but I'm sure we could make it what we want to make it).

The hockey team is getting very popular now with that Alex kid playing so well. I'm just wondering how they dance on the ice? I hope that all works out for you!

Congrats to all the 75 dayer's! Last Oct. was my first cruise and I didn't realize I couldn't just refresh the browser - so it wouldn't let me book! I got up and logged in the next morning fine of course - LOL!. I was still able to get Palo the next morning. Can't hurt to look again folks! I'm surprised so few who wanted it got Palo.:confused3

How terrible for that family. I certainly hope for the childrens sake she did not pass while in the car.

I honestly don't mean any disrespect and I know it's not funny and I'll be going straight to the devil... but did anyone else think of 'Aunt Edna' from National Lampoons Vacation?

Lois...thank you for showing those beautiful numbers! I REALLY can't wait until next week when the number in front of the word "Month" in my ticker turns to a "1"!!!

I'm going up to visit my mom and grandmother this weekend so we can work on cruise stuff! :goodvibes The plan is do to the following:

  • make 3 or 4 fish extenders to swap out during the week (especially want one just for Pirate Night day)
  • finish making one more FE gift
  • assemble FE goodie bags
  • shop for pirate costume material
  • review the general packing list so we don't have duplicates packed
  • assign the rescheduling/scheduling mission tasks for when we get onboard

OOOH! I just remembered something, so I'm writing it here so I have it when I get home. I was working on my To-Do List this weekend, and I just remembered that I want to make scrapbook pages for visitors to stop by and sign!! My primary concern with this one is keeping th4e 12"x12" paper crease-free during my travels.

I also want to drop off something off at Guest Services for the characters to sign during the week. I've come up with only two ideas. One is a photomat, and the other is getting signatures put on transparency paper, which I can use to overlay on my scrapbook pages. Does anyone have any other brillant ideas they are willing to share for a possible steal? :)

Have you thought of putting your 12X12 paper(s) in a tube while you travel? That way, just rolled up & (hopefully) no creases.

What are you planning on doing w/what you have signed by the characters? I think that really determines what type of medium you'd use. I've heard of folks doing t-shirts & pillowcases in addition to the photo mats. Haven't seen anything posted before about transparency paper - very clever. Would you have to supply special pens w/that? For us, we'll probably do a pillowcase for Emmie & maybe a photomat or 2 for those great photos we're planning on getting.

Btw, welcome back. Glad you had a good time during your weekend get-away. We really missed seeing your posts (ok, I missed seeing your posts).

OMGosh yes! But, I didn't dare say. I'm glad you're all as nutty as I am. Makes me really, really look forward to this trip.

I am so sorry for this family's loss - but, heaven hear me - when I go it better be at the END of a Disney trip and not BEFORE the Disney trip.

For those of you that have the 2 day Castaway Cay packages booked does it just show it on the first day at CC and not the 2nd when you view your cruise activities?

Yep mine shows the same way

This is the first grandparent that I have lost and I am 35. I just have to keep reminding myself how fortunate my family and I are to have them around so long.

I am so glad you recognize how blessed you are. I am just a few years older and lost all my grandparents many years ago. Unfortunately, last year I lost my dad too - so these are precious years ;)

Ohhhh...talking about gaining weight...Jeff & I are both really watching it for the next few months so that we can start out a few lbs down from normal.

On our first cruise, we ate (and ate & ate & ate & ate) and on the morning of debarkation, I CRIED because I could not button my pants for home! Seriously...it was really pathetic.

Two solutions...
1. Start out the cruise a few pounds down from normal so it all comes out as a wash in the end
2. Bring a skirt to wear home so it won't matter if my butt decided to double in size on the cruise.

:lmao:

It's hard not to say yes to that soft serve ten times a day, you know? And Reese is already asking "Mama, do we get pre-breakfast on the cruise again?"

So what's "pre-breakfast?" It's the room service meal we get BEFORE heading to the breakfast buffet! :rotfl: Jeff has to have his morning coffee, and I just hate to make the server come all the way to our room just for coffee, so it only makes sense to throw in some toasted bagels & cream cheese too, right?

I'm going to try & do a little better this time around, but I'm not holding my breath. Wait. Maybe I should so I can wear my clothes home!

Sorry to hear there was no Palo left! I was going to stay up and try again for Tea, glad I didn't.

So we'll all be in line. Whoever is first and wants tea, please find me (I'll be the crazy looking woman with 4, none of whom look vaguely related) and get my cabin number so you can fit me in with you!

We're planning for Alex's christening/Chrismation this weekend. He gets to get dunked in church butt naked. Hopefully he won't think naked is the new dress code, but who knows with him.

Julie

Here is a solution: Don't use room service. Have someone run up to deck nine to get the coffee and then you use the energy and calories to get the coffee so you can eat more at meals. I try to walk up the stairs as much as possible so I can keep my weight down as much as possible.

I like the pre-breakfast, though, that was cute and I understand your reasoning. Really sound like something I would do.

One day closer and still counting!!!! Lois
