Still reading along while I sort out laundry (holiday clothing) and planning the packing of the cases. Great to see all the helpful advice on offer and thank you Teena for the resorts updated info. Glad to know we should have a safely working refrigerator once we arrive, oh my time does fly .
I can't believe how soon we will be there! As usual the UK weather isn't being helpful lots of rain showers here one month's worth in a few hours a few days ago and intermittent spells of it ever since.
Praying hard that our indirect flights are not delayed on our travel days, they have been rather odd with long delays lately on the way back out from Atlanta although heavens knows why. Probably the weather or staffing issues or something and yes I know that they are entitled to scheduled breaks and bad weather can't be avoided. I just want to be able to get home with a minimum of fuss and not get stuck overnight in an airport. DS needs to be back at school with as few unauthorised absence days as possible, school does know that we are flying back from the USA they even asked for photos of DS with Minnie.
Been watching videos of WDW and US for the last few weeks. Just wish there were less construction walls around this summer. I have been surprised how many attractions are closed for refurbishment in August this year I would have thoughtSeptember would have been a more ideal time to do that kind of work when the attendance crowd levels drop back a little. We will just have to make the most of it all and maybe things will just work out.
Enough rambling for now, must get some exercise done., and think about a YC&BC secret Disers code word or something Buzzy might be on to something there!

"Buzzy" might be a good one. Lol. We could walk around making the buzzing sound and if a fellow Diser is there they can reply. Lol. I wonder if others would think we were strange. Baaaahaaaa

We are officially Yacht Clubbers again. Our ressie has been changed and we will be back at Yacht Club 19-31 August 2014 to celebrate our second wedding anniversary and DDs 10th Birthday. She will be an official Disney Adult. :cool1:

:woohoo:

I'll add you to the list!

If we're being particular about the list, we did upgrade to CL in the end, so now we're YC CL from 8/3 to 8/9. We lost our GV, though -- there weren't any available.

By the way, sometime on the 9th we'll have pool noodles to give away if anyone wants them. I'm not willing to pay $4 for a pool noodle when I can get them at home for $1, but there's no way I'm lugging them back home again!

Yes, we ARE being particular about the list, so I will make the change.

:goodvibes

We have flights - our official dates for the YC are NOv 17-21st. Our baby boy's first trip to Disney!!!!

I'll add your dates.

:cool1:

I'm on the list!!!! :hyper::hyper:

Thanks!!! :)

You're welcome!

:)

I'm on the list, I forgot to say it's a surprise trip for our kids birthdays. pixiedust:

OK, as long as I'm going in to clean up the list, I'll add that.

:ssst:

YAY! YAY! YAY! A standard room opened up at YC so we are officially switched over to where I wanted to be for our trip (sorry BC lovers, I really had my heart set on YC!). Stalking the Disney web site does work.

Glad your stalking was successful. I find that sending flowers and chocolate to the website works wonders, too.

I'll change your listing.

:cheer2:

Just Curious If anybody booked a room at Beach Club with the Military Discount? Which rooms are included in the Discount?:scratchin

If I haven't given you an official :welcome: yet, here you go!

Let us know if you are able to book a room for your dates.

:goodvibes

Me and cupmom and Dianewes changed our dates to 8/16-8/23. Still at the YC standard view.

Got it! Thanks! :)

Hi! I have been following this board for a little bit now. I see that you have started the 2014 guest list and would love to be added. We are staying at the BC 1/18-1/25!! Can't wait!!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

I have a minor change. We decided to stay onsite instead of the Hyatt at MCO for our first night.

8/30 YC GV, then 8/31-9/7 at BC CL

Got it. I'll make the change.

:thumbsup2

Longtime lurker heading to the Beach Club - checking in Monday, August 5 and checking out Thursday, August 15. CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list- Have a great trip!

:yay:

Please add us to the "Be our guest List" I have been a long time lurker to the sight and hope to meet up with some Dis peeps!

We will be at BC Aug 24-Sep 2, 2013! 26 More Days!!

:welcome:

Will do!

:woohoo:

Hi.

Our actual dates are oct 23-nov 7 if you want to put them in.

Thanks

Nicnic

I do! Thanks for the info.

:goodvibes

Ok, thanks, that helps. SO I think i will just request close to lobby, 4th floor. (Or maybe this will be the day i finally get some pixie dust and get upgraded to CL! :D )

Btw, also a fellow Bostonian. :thumbsup2

Howdy, neighbor! I am north of Boston.

I started up two View Threads in the Resort Photo Subforum:

Beach Club Room Views

Yacht Club Room Views

The purpose of these threads is to give some samples of rooms in various view categories at the Yacht and Beach Clubs.

BC lovers, I need help!!! We are staying at SSR this October and will sorely miss the BC, but it wasn't in the cards this trip!! Anyway, we are hoping to be back at the BC in April 2014 but can't decide if we should do it as a 5 or 6 night BC/WDW vacation or for 4 nights after a 4 night DCL cruise (would be our first).

I'm so concerned that we won't get to enjoy the BC if we are just doing 4 nights after the cruise and DH wants to hit the parks!! Anyone want to weigh in?

Thanks!!

:welcome:

Nobody hits the parks harder than my family- well maybe the guy who attempted all 47 rides in all of Disney in one day- :worship: but we find that the location of Beach Club makes it possible to have some resort time.

You are so close to EP and HS that after a few hours you can return to the Beach Club, spend a little time at the pool, then return to a park later in the day.

:thumbsup2

27 days out and magic bands arrived today. Now waiting for email in 10 days to confirm we are part of the test

Does anyone know how early the monorails start running?

Thanks

I don't know- as with any transportation question, I'm not sure I trust any of the answers given.

Hi Everyone!

We just checked in to YC a few hours ago! We are in a Deluxe CL room. Our room number is 4102 and we do have a fridge.

I will post pics (not sure if it will be during our trip). For sure the pics of the Deluxe room that are posted are not what our room looks like (there is not a second bedroom, just a sitting area).

Also, the CL cast member says that supposedly as of 8/2 they will be doing magic bands. This corroborates what others have said.

Hope to pop over to meet Teena while we are here.

Hope your stay is fantastic!

:goodvibes

Secret Code Needed!!!

I just counted and there are 69 DISfamilies who overlap our YC stay! Unfortunately on our dates we won't get to meet Teena though.

WOW!

The easiest way to find a BC/YC/ BCV Dis boards reader is to yell "Pardon me!!!
Do you happen to have a tape measure and a laminated Sunken Treasure recipe card" at the top of your voice. All of us, including the lurkers will come flying out of the wodwork:woohoo:!

~Signed Buzzy the sun burned Fly

sadly, nobody asked me this, even once! :(

We do need a cheer or secret sign or handshake

With you I will pass on the last

Kungaloosh is already taken

Enough rambling for now, must get some exercise done., and think about a YC&BC secret Disers code word or something Buzzy might be on to something there!

I'm going to go with "Do you know where the Sunken Treasures lie?" but I'll bet someone can come up with something that is more clever than that.

"Buzzy" might be a good one. Lol. We could walk around making the buzzing sound and if a fellow Diser is there they can reply. Lol. I wonder if others would think we were strange. Baaaahaaaa

I like it!!!

Thank you Teena for checking for me. I do appreciate it. You would never know we are still a ways off from our trip they way my grandchildren are talking!! I love that they are all excited. Yesterday Piper, my youngest granddaughetr wo is 18 month finally said MMM mou!!! Made my day.

On another note, I am going to ask for some prayers for me as I head to se my neurologist Wednesday. Have been having a few episodes and unexplained tremors. I had a minor stroke 2 years ago and I am a little nervous. This is one of the reasons my trip is so important to me, spending as much quality time with my family!!pixiedust:

Sending prayers your way!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and support:hug:
Olivia Grace is so cute and when I called my DH to tell him the news I just broke down in tears. When I got the chance to hold the princess I just started talking to her and telling her how special she is.

My sister honored me by giving the baby the middle name of Grace. Long story short we are unable to have children of our own due to some medical reasons, she knew I would have love the name Grace. So my sweet baby sister gave Olivia the middle name Grace.:goodvibes

I am already planning her first trip to WDW :rotfl:

:ssst:

What a wonderful honor!!

I have not stayed in the villas but I do know there are all sorts of groceries that can be bought at the market place including milk. In the past, I've had things like OJ and milk delivered to the resort. I have 3 teens with us sharing one bathroom. Takes coordination but we do it. Some take showers in the pm, some in the am. In case of an emergency someone can use a bathroom in the lobby. Good luck!

Thank you! I think that the lobby bathroom will be "dad's toilet" haha:rotfl2:

There is a ten cup coffee maker in the villa that takes a basket filter. I always brought my own filters and coffee, enough for our length of stay. But I believe they do provide some coffee, enough for a pot or two. You can pick up some bags of sugar and individual creamers in the Marketplace. They also have a lot of food items in the Marketplace, things like milk, bread, bacon, frozen food, etc.

We really liked staying in the villas. It is really to have a full kitchen, even if you only use it for breakfast and snacks. :)

Great, thank you. Of course it will be more expensive than a grocery stop, but I think we're just doing breakfast in room.

We've stayed in a one bedroom villa 3 times now. The set up of the bathroom is wonderful. It's hard to explain but I'll try: The shower and a sink are in one area that you can close off and the toilet is behind another door off of that room.

Then there is a big tub with another sink that can be shut off from the room with the shower too! It's a great set up for more than one person to get ready at the same time.

We brought coffee and filters from home. But if I remember correctly there will be filters in the room as well as some coffee. I'm not sure how much exactly tho because we always used our own.

Enjoy!!!!

Sounds good, sort of like split bathrooms on DCL. Our teen daughter will be the rate limiting factor....

Looking forward to another Disney adventure!

Good thoughts for you on this, Kerry.

Couchy ... can't wait to see you and congrats on the newest Princess to our family. Maybe someday our two princesses can play together at SAB!!!

Kerry ... you know I'm thinking of you. Keep in touch and let me know if there is anything I can do.

So many pictures to share!!!

I'll start with a few pictures of the Sunken Treasure in its natural habitat:

I just woke up:scared1: I am usually up by 5:30... yesterday was a long day but wow, this is weird . I am the one running at 5:30 in the morning on vacation because I can not sleep and do not want to wake up DH :lmao:

Can't wait! I will have lots of cute pics to show off:cool1: I am staying at YC instead of BC because we could not get a SV or GV at BC and I did not want to pay the premium at BC so I won't see you at check in on Sunday. However, we will at SAB the next 4 days

Wait is killing me!!!

I just want to pack already!!! I have a spare room in my house that I keep calling my "Florida" room (haha!) and all of our luggage and misc. items for our trip keeps getting put into that room...its a mess!

Funny, I have the same room in my house :)
