Making changes before my deposit even goes down...

Afraid of Poly renovations in March 2014 so moving to the BC for the 1st time!:cool1:

I am booking a Garden view for my brother, neice, DD13 and I. I would like 2 queens and a daybed. I would like a patio (do they have these?) or a full balcony. I would be happy being not too far from elevators or an exit. Any suggestions on how to request this?

thanks!

Teena if work not beginning until after first of year will entire 5th floor be done for June?

Kerry praying for you ....

Couchy: I have a 3 year old niece that my sister and her husband decided she shouldn't take her first trip to Disney until she was four. Sooooo, I've been planning the trip for two years now!!! LOL!!! It's booked and we're going July 2014. Absolutely NO ONE but her Aunt Nettie was taking her on her first trip to see Mickey. :)

I took both of her older sisters (now 26 and 22) and they're going next year too. I love all Disney trips but that first one is magical. Start planning with Princess Olivia. It's never too early.

I just woke up:scared1: I am usually up by 5:30... yesterday was a long day but wow, this is weird . I am the one running at 5:30 in the morning on vacation because I can not sleep and do not want to wake up DH :lmao:

Welcome to "baby time" where somehow you lose hours in your day and you have no idea where they went. :rotfl2:

This thread moves fast! I check it a few times a day at wor and I'm behind man!

Another magical trip home to the Beach Club.
Already can't wait to go back!
Sorry the picture is so big... will have to go back and try to figure that out. :upsidedow

I'm not in contact with the contractors or anybody and they would be the only ones that know for sure. However, from being there through a number of rehabs, I'm pretty sure if they start in January, AND THAT'S A HUGE "IF", that the fifth floor would be done by June. From what I understand, as of yesterday, no firm start date has been given because they still haven't agreed on a number of the décor items.

Again, if I wanted to book anything at the BC or YC and it might occur during rehab, I would not even hesitate. The way they do it inside will not affect anybody unless you have small children and are bringing them back to the resort to nap and you just happen to get a room right under a room they are working on. All noise occurs ONLY during the day. If you are one of the 1% that might be affected due to small children and naps, they will move you to a room that will not affect the napping due to noise.

Anybody that goes to Disney frequently has been at a resort during room rehab and unless you read it somewhere or somebody told you, you wouldn't even know.

If you are planning a vacation at the Y&B and want a NEW room, then I would recommend booking the Beach Club fifth floor (club level) sometime after May but that's only if they start in January.

I've been following this thread for ages, but rarely post (can you say Lurker?) but now I have a question that doesn't seem to be already answered.

For some reason I've got it in my brain that you can request a microwave for your room. I honestly can't remember where I've even seen this (perhaps on the WL thread, on which I'm also lurking:blush:) Is this true at BC? If it is, would anyone be willing to share their microwave experience? If you requested one, did you get it? Did it work well? Where did they put it?

This totally isn't a make-or-break for our vacation--but I think we'd use the microwave if we had it. I know we can use the microwave in the Marketplace, but it would be more convenient in the room.

Thanks to everyone for any information they have:)

Wow! I am gone for a few days and so much has happened on the dis boards :goodvibes

I heard through the grapevine that Teena has once again received the Presidential Volunteer Award for all of the service and time she spends helping out at Jeanne's school in Las Vegas !!!

party:

She was presented with this award by the resort manager, GSOs and several other managers. The award includes a letter and pin from President Obama and also a grant from the Walt Disney Company to Jeanne's school.

:woohoo:

Teena has received this recognition in the past, and there was a guest onsite who captured the moment in photos.

Here is a link to some pictures when Teena was presented by Disney execs with an award from President Obama in May 2011 for helping out so much at Jeanne's school:

You Rock, Teena!!!

Congrats Teena! :cool1: We hope to see you when we arrive on the 11th. We will have to come over from the YC to BC :)

Yay Teena!

I received one also this year for my countless (actually, I had to count them) hours volunteering on my kid's FB/cheer organization's board. My organization received $1,000 from the Walt Disney Company!

The WDC really is a great place to work!
Congrats to you too catho72 :cool1:

I can't believe I am typing this....

So, I won a contest with a cash prize.:cheer2: Not huge but enough for the following news (DH insisted)...

Dee please add me to the Be Our Guest list
BC - 8/4-8/8:banana::banana::banana:

I can't believe I am going back. But the prize covers the room cost, already have AP's and Southwest flights on my points... I was nervous about going back so soon but DH says "why not" . I gave him a list of reasons and he says... why have an AP if you are not going to use it:confused3 This trip will only cost food OPP and drinks , but with TIW that should not be too bad:woohoo:

YAY! Another Disney vacation pixiedust: Congrats!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and support:hug:
Olivia Grace is so cute and when I called my DH to tell him the news I just broke down in tears. When I got the chance to hold the princess I just started talking to her and telling her how special she is.

My sister honored me by giving the baby the middle name of Grace. Long story short we are unable to have children of our own due to some medical reasons, she knew I would have love the name Grace. So my sweet baby sister gave Olivia the middle name Grace.:goodvibes

I am already planning her first trip to WDW :rotfl:

:ssst:

Congrats again :cool1: Welcome Princess Olivia Grace pixiedust: Have fun spoiling her and planning her first Disney Dream Vacation :thumbsup2

Thank you Teena for checking for me. I do appreciate it. You would never know we are still a ways off from our trip they way my grandchildren are talking!! I love that they are all excited. Yesterday Piper, my youngest granddaughetr wo is 18 month finally said MMM mou!!! Made my day.

On another note, I am going to ask for some prayers for me as I head to se my neurologist Wednesday. Have been having a few episodes and unexplained tremors. I had a minor stroke 2 years ago and I am a little nervous. This is one of the reasons my trip is so important to me, spending as much quality time with my family!!pixiedust:

I am praying for you!

Hi,

Does anyone know when the August activities schedule is released?

We can't wait to see which movies are going to be on the beach during our up-coming stay..... My DD is also hoping to join in the hula hoop party around the pool.

16 days and counting until we depart - 17 days until we check in.....

Would love to go on the Be Our Guest list.

16th - 30th August ( + friends )

Many thanks,

:cheer2:

How is the food from Hurricane Hanna's? We are on the dining plan and will likely have a counter service lunch from there during our stay. Anything in particular especially good (or bad!)?? Thanks!

I was just wondering about the military discount that's why I asked earlier cause I am booked in the WL for Dec and could only get a bunk room and wondered if the other resorts were like that only offering certain rooms with the discount. :confused3 would also like to stay in the BC in the future...:flower3:

KerryCM, praying things go well

Panic mode setting in... What am I forgetting?

Flying Friday afternoon, overnight at AS S. probably doing dinner at Bonefish on drive over

Early morning them driving to check in at BC Saturday. HS for ropey. Brown Derby later that evening

Just checked in our deluxe cl room, after a stay at Grand Flo sugarloaf. I have to admit, GF was a bit of a let down. We are very happy to be "home" at BC ! We got a great deluxe room # 3691 . We were hoping for 4557, but 3691 is just as nice. Full balcony ......... really full, the whole length of the room like 4557. Plus a standing room only balcony that overlooks SAB ! CL staff has been great. Brought us some chocolate, drinks and fresh flowers . Don't have a new fridge yet, just the old one that was turned off. We were told not to turn it on , but when CL staff brought us drinks, she turned it on for us ! Will try to update as we go ......... Heading to the Cl lounge for some snacks !

Yes, you can request a microwave by calling housekeeping from your room and it will be provided free of charge based on availability.

I know someone posted a picture at some point, and I looked through my pictures to see if I copied it. I'm sure I did, but I couldn't find it. :confused3

Anyone have comments about how the microwave is?

Thanks!!!

:goodvibes

Is that the adult version of the flat Stanley project?

I like that!!!

:lmao:
