*Done! 3/6* Dec 2012 -The awesome now TR report that lacks a catchy title - Done!

Last Day
Our last day consisted mostly of goodbyes and packing. We chose an early flight so that it wouldn’t be a bad trip home with the kids. I am glad we did, the weather was sketchy in NH and the almost 3 hours ride home would have been worse later on… especially with no coffee!! It was so uneventful. We packed, loaded the car, relaxed for a bit, said our goodbyes and went to the airport. Then we got onto a plane and went back to NH. It was a very easy flight. We stopped got Starbucks, take out for dinner and headed home. It was a long cold ride and it was sort of nice to be home. However…. I would have rather been in WDW!!

Aside from a quick recap which I will do in the next day or so, my TR is done! It has been annoying having this hanging over my head and incomplete! Also, I want to start another PTR/TR for our October trip which I should have booked Wed and by the weekend at the latest..... So thank you for reading everyone and aside from one last update/recap this is it!

Heck even though I don't think anyone is reading!! :lmao:I'm going to finish this 100%!!!

I love traveling with Zack’s family; they are kind, loving, helpful and not filled with drama! It was so nice being on a vacation where I wasn’t too stressed.

I love OKW.

I really need to try a waffle sandwich.

Next TR, I will have to take notes and more pictures.

Favorite Date Night – California Grill during Wishes!

Favorite Meal – Surprise Birthday at the Coral Reef

Favorite Snack – We didn’t have as many as I thought we would, so it would have to be the Mocha Cupcake from Boardwalk Bakery

Best Onsite Coffee – The Kiosk at the TTC (yes we didn’t go to Kona or get pressed pot anywhere!!)

Favorite Character Meet & Greet – Cinderella’s Royal Table, Cinderella was wonderful! Zoey was so in awe.

Favorite Park – The Magic Kingdom :) Do I need to explain??

Favorite Ride – a tie between the Barnstormer (Zoey’s excitement was contagious) and the Walt Disney World Rail Road (playing peek a boo with Olive was great)

Favorite Photopass Picture – Although I did not post it, it was the one of the pre park opening pictures at the Magic Kingdom with Zack’s family, with the Zoey and Tinkerbell magic shot a very close second! A

Best thing about vacationing in WDW – Being with family, especially when they double as friends. It was great to have a group of people who all cared for each other.

Best Grown Up Activity – Mini Golf at Fantasia Gardens – it was the best!! Followed by Pick a Pearl in Japan….

Favorite Firework Show – we saw Illuminations, Holiday Wishes! And Wishes!.... Wishes! Because I got to watch Zoey be amazed  Holiday Wishes! Because the perimeter fireworks were awesome (Sorry Zoey wins out for 1st though!)

Well until next time!

Up next.... October at BLT!

Heck even though I don't think anyone is reading!! :lmao:I'm going to finish this 100%!!!
I'm still reading! And I haven't added my Photopass pictures to finish off my TR, so you're ahead of me ...

:)

That was the one bonus of avoiding pictures of our extended family ;) less pictures to post!

I remember seeing your travel dates before the trip, I think in someone else's TR or somehting, and I meant to sub to your PTR... I don't know what happened. Oh well, I've read throught it now. Nice job on the TR. :thumbsup2

First of all, I'm sorry you were feeling a little under the weather. Definitely not the ideal way to start a vacation, but it looks like you were able to make the best of it.

I'm just going to comment on a few things that stuck out to me...

First of all, I agree 100% with you about the Imagination pavillion. I miss the original ride/post show and they could really be much more imaginative with the new technology available to them. So much more should be done there.

Isn't the rider swap pass the best thing ever??? :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I agree with you about Barnstormer being near the top of my favorites rides now. I prefer something with a little more thrill to it, myself, but I was willing to ride it as many times as DS wanted to. He loved it so much!

It looks like we were in Fantasyland on the same morning during your last park day. We headed over to Storybook Circus first, but anyway, do you remember how long you waited for Enchanted Tales? We never did get around to doing it because the line was always so ridiculously long. I wasn't sure DS would have the attention span to wait through that kind of line and then want to sit through a story.

Thanks! I've gotten through your first park day with MK and HS :) enjoying it! I figured I would comment at the end, I really want to get to the "bar" part- I had planned on getting a bit tipsy but the sickness wouldn't allow - figures since we had a built in baby sitter!

I know! It's crazy some of the most talented and creative minds in the world and the Imagination Pavilion is none of that... Really think of what a forward thinking tech company could do--- it could be amazing.... (Sigh) it's amazing the things they do but when they don't... They don't... :(

Love Love Love Rider Swap! It really has helped us save time and have more fun. This is our third trip with little ones and so thankful for it!

Disney roller coasters are about as thrilling as it gets for me ;) however, the sheer joy the kids experience is absolutely contagious! I'm so hoping next year Zoey is tall enough to go on some of the other rides too- she is going to be an adrenaline junky like her dad :) She's a peanut though, your son looks pretty tall so hopefully you can ride more with him sooner than later.

I'm hoping to say in the neighborhood of 45 minutes. There was enough for Zoey to look at and keep busy (she was a little over 3 at the time) We were lucky enough to have a girl her age that she played with too... Olive on the other hand... Too long and not entertaining enough. Normally we would never wait that long for anything but knew Zoey would enjoy it :) Also for future trips all kids can get a part - which helps a ton I think. I honestly couldn't blame you for not waiting- a happy kid (and happy parents) make the trips so much easier!!

Oh my goodness!! I return and see you have a ton of updates! Sooo many adorable photos of your girls and that Coral Reef cake looked so great! Thanks for sharing your favorites - what a great wrap up Sarah!

How exciting that you have BLT to look forward to in a little over 6 months! Yay!! :cheer2:

Yeah I sucked it up and did them all one morning when it was cold and snowy. :) Plus, seeing pictures of a nice warm place helps when it feels like I'm living at the North Pole! The cake was awesome - and it was a great experience. I would have ever have known either if it want for the dining boards!!

I look forward to hearing about your trip with Em. I saw you got a bit of pixie dust in the form of a room upgrade!

Hey Sarah! :yay:

I know it is tough to keep going with a TR when life keeps getting in the way and it seems like there isn’t much response. But we do have a LOT of silent TR readers out there, you can see that in the “views” of the TRs compared to the actual posts. Kudos for getting it finished! :thumbsup2

I have been buried in work so I am just as guilty as everyone else for not responding. But I’ll give you a good run in trying to catch up – here’s the first 3 days’ worth of comments ;)

First, so sorry that you were sick the whole time :worried: My wife and older daughter were both sick the whole trip and my daughter also lost her voice – couldn’t speak above a whisper the whole trip. Not fun being sick on vacation for sure. I’m glad you didn’t let it get you down :goodvibes

What an ordeal getting on your plane, at least that TSA took pity on you and that you caught your flight.

Sorry that nav system was so bad on your car but glad you got your caffeine and made it to AKL on time. Great shot of Olive in the savannah. Sounds like lunch and dinner were good. Bummer your mom was so oblivious to your condition and didn’t let you off the hook. It must be something about getting older because my mom and MiL are both the same way. Good call getting DH to take you to Walgreens after the EPCOT oops.

5:30am wake-up after your flight day??? And I thought I was a glutton for punishment! :lmao:

Glad you beat the ME people to check-in at OKW. So cool that your room was ready early. Nice Christmas pelicans.

AK looked like fun, score no waiting on Dinosaur – great FP pic! And cool pics with the dinos and on Triceratops Spin (I was going to ask where the EE pic was but saw it in your next post).

So cool that you were able to arrange the family surprise, we did that on our 2008 WDW trip and it was wonderful. I’m glad the decongestant worked well enough to allow you to go on your date. What a great evening at the Cali Grill, cool pic of the two of you with your cake. But I agree about fondant – yuck! Love the shot of you two in front of the castle – so very cool with such happy smiles :)

I can’t even imagine trying to keep up with TR notes while being on decongestants – what a DIStrooper! Sorry the service was bad at Chef Mickey’s – it is always hit and miss at the buffet-style places. We got lucky at our Hollywood & Vine breakfast at DHS, the server was great and we were seated right around the corner from one of the buffet entrances. I hope the wee ones enjoyed the characters at least great hug with Goofy!

Monorail was the right choice to MK since MiL, SiL, and BiL and never ridden on it. Cool that your BiL/SiL got the military discounted tickets. I wish I had been a Disney fan when I was still in the service. Nice PP pics and it sounds like the Teacups were a good call for your first ride. New Fantasyland looked fun, there are such great ride there for wee ones! Great pic of Zach and Zoey on Barnstormers. Our younger daughter is the adrenaline junkie and I’m usually the one riding the thrill rides with her

Nice choice for last ride with Splash, great ride pic. And cool that you got to see the parade without it making you late for your appointment. Glad you had a nice time with your friend – it is good to get pampered a bit on vacation.

EPCOT sounded a bit rushed, but fun. You really try to cram in a lot of park hopping on your trips! Our MVMCP was a flop too – we did too much earlier and everyone was sick except me, and I was exhausted as I had pushed both of my daughters around in a wheelchair all day just to keep them going.

Bummer about the coffee and cinnamon bun, Disney coffee is just the worst! At least you got to do SM with no line. Soooo sorry that IaSW make you sick – ear sinus yuckies and a rocking boat will do that sometimes :headache: Glad you were able to get past it and enjoy some more rides! AWESOME SM pic!

The Contemporary sounded like a nice finish to the night – I love being in the resorts when they are that empty.

I’ll be back soon to check out Day 4! ::yes::

So true on silent TR readers. Your post reminds me that I need to catch up on your TR too.... I have been so busy with life it seems and it has been busy with me too... I have 3 total I need to finish reading (although I have gotten through 2-3 others in the past week or so! I am on a roll!)

I totally felt for your family in your while reading your TR! We were a bunch of sickies and it was me and the kids who had the worst of it during vacation because my husband was the carrier and was sick before we left.... We muddled through it though, this trip was almost 2 years in planning so I wasn't about to let a horrible sinus infection get in the way! Granted my SIL & BIL coming in was planned at the end, but it added to the magic. :wizard: The girls loved Chef Mickey's and it's just a learning experience, whether you eat or not you are paying! It would have be nice for our server to mention it though. I have never gone to Hollywood & Vine - So far the characters there have not been on my girls favorites.

Oh and 5:30am is generally sleeping in for me! I am an early morning person and don't sleep much as it is.. I am up around 4 most days :)

So apparently Disney is switching over to Joffery Coffee, which is in the stand alone kiosks that I like... There may be hope for me just yet! We might be able to get a decent cup of coffee if need be!

We are planning a Dec trip in 2014. I swear we will be in total germ free lock down prior to that trip!! The plus is, we are going back for a quick stay in October and I think we are going to do MNSSHP to make up for our failed MVMCP :yay:

Hopefully within the next week or so I get caught up on your TR! I want to get caught up on all the Dec Disers before starting my October/Jan PTR/TRs!

Okay, I'm LMAO about the Jasmine pic, but the fireworks pics seriously just made me tear up a little! The wonder on their faces!!!

Heck even though I don't think anyone is reading!! :lmao:I'm going to finish this 100%!!!

I really need to try a waffle sandwich.

Well, I wasn't reading, but I just read the whole thing! Your girls are adorable, and I love that you managed to have a blast even though you were sick!

And yes, you really need to try a waffle sandwich. They are AWESOME.

I have to say, Disney as a grown up is a ton of fun - but the joy and wonder I see in my kids just makes it all the more special!

I had the nutella one, and DH had the ham one. He LOVED his, and told me that mine wasn't lunch, it was dessert. It was totally lunch, LOL.

Great trip report. The girls are so beautiful and amazing job pushing thru the illnesses. your mil is awesome for always watching the girls. Must have been awesome to get dh to yourself each night. Thanks for sharing.
