Donald's Defiant Dashers Team Challenge

Anyway, got out this morning and ran for 10.8 miles in 1:30

Mike "GG" B

:worship: that's like a 8min. mile :scared1:

I could do that... on a bike :lmao:

Congrats on your team finishing the 5k.
My dd is 12 and does cross-country and has a supportive
coach also. I think it makes all the difference in the world
if it's made fun for the kids and they have a supportive coach!

Betsy - glad you're back! How fast did you run after you saw the bear ;)
post some pics if you get a chance!
Margaritas... ,,, mmmmm.......

Have a good day everyone!

Man, it looks like everyone is doing very well, considering that this was a holiday weekend, I was actually expecting lower numbers. Now, it has made me feel bad about my numbers. Hopefully, I will have better numbers for the rest of the month but enough stalling, here we go.

Miles: 100.25
Time: 11.75 hours

Included in that was 17 miles worth of walking around the track (including my first 10 mile trip). I figure if I am going to attempt the half in January, I need to start trying to do the distances.

Thanks everyone! You are doing fantastic!:woohoo: It is motivating to see so much involvement.

Take Care!
Bryan:cheer2:

Just got back from 14 miles on the bike witth 50% trails and 50% roads (hey I had to get to the trails...) in 1:07. Felt good even with the sore hammy from yesterday.

Weekly totals (going from Sunday to Saturday):

Weight lifting and core work = 2 hours
Biking = 21 miles = 2 hours
Running = 19 miles = 2 hrs 30 mins.

Looking at it this way tells me I have a long way to go before I am ready for going Goofy.

Mike You have a positive energy and a lot of enthusiasm. What a great spark for all of us! I know you have to pass that down to your kids on your team. Congratulations! You're doing great!

Well, if you caught my post on the Weekly thread, you'll know that last week was a complete wash-out for training. I was between our trip to Arizona and our trip to Maine (where I am now), and completely swamped at home.

However, we got to our house in Southwest Harbor last night at midnight, and I managed to put in a 4 1/2 mile run today! So things look much better for this week.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July and kudos to everyone who is getting those miles in!

Hey Team,

Just wanted to drop by and do a quick post of last week's numbers.

20.09 miles/152 minutes

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. Last week, I had 8 regular miles in 1 hour and 15 minutes and then I did the Peachtree 10k for 12.4 miles with a time of 1:06:12 (my new PR:goodvibes ).

I promise to do better in posting and in my mileage. Everyone's doing a great job in encouraging each other and I haven't. Sorry I've let everyone down.

Here are my totals for last week:

Weights: 150mins
Running: 47:49mins and 10.47 miles including double race miles
Biking: 93:00mins and 21.2 miles
Other: 60:00mins

Hey Triple D's

Totals for last week ending 7/3. Not much, but better then nothing.

10 miles
86 minutes

Keep up the good work everyone. :thumbsup2

Hey Team!:cheer2: :cheer2:
Another week of workouts:
walking 20 miles 300 minutes
x-training 120 minutes

My past week:

Swim: 1.3/1:05
Bike: 122.8/8:10
Run: 8.2/2:00

Total: 132.3 miles/11:15 hours

I am cramming in some bike time (part on trainer, part on the road), since when I travel for work I usually don't have a bike to train on. And Ironman is in just over 6 weeks. My motivator is fear, right now. :scared1: I have 8 more bike hours in the next 2 days, including a 6 hour ride on Saturday. And the high temp is heading for 101, so I will be starting very early in the morning! :thumbsup2

Best of luck with your Ironman. I used to bike myself and loved biking all day, even in the heat. Then I hit my 50's :scared1: and my body just stopped regulating the heat, so I backed off our wonderful all day bike rides.

Thanks, SamSam! :goodvibes It'll be a good ride...though I will be on my own, I think, because my friends have other riding plans (they ride the same routes over and over, and I need variety). I'll just take plenty of fluids and a good attitude with me! And sunscreen!

Made another week. I think I have managed 4 weeks in a row. I did learn a lesson this week. Do not attempt to do speed work when it's 90 degrees out with 50% humidity. I thought I was going to explode.

15 miles
136 minutes

Hope everyone has a good week of training :thumbsup2

This was a bit of an up and down week for me. I kept going to the gym everyday but I had very little energy and motivation. I just was on a semi-emotional rollercoaster but I still had a good week as far as my training goes. So here are my totals.

Miles - 123.75
Time - 13.5

Betsy - You are doing wonderful. A true inspiration.

DDD's - We are still ranked #1 in the competition for distance and overall totals. The team has really pulled together and took charge. Let's keep it up and finish the year of strong.

Bryan

VEry low mileage week for me this week thanks to Mr. Hammy. Managed a full 2 miles of run/walk/jog before having to quit because of the pain and not wanting to hurt it even more. Did get in 30 miles on the bike in 2:20 on two rides of 15 miles though. Resting the hammy since Wednesday and not testing it agian until tomorrow. Oh yeah 2 hours of weights and core as well.

Keep up the good work team!

Mike "GG" B

Hey guys! I had a good week of running while on vacation this week, and managed one Pilates session as well.

I did a beautiful 2 mile hike today (which will be part of next week's totals), and am planning a 5-mile run tomorrow morning. It is great to be running here in Maine for a few weeks where I am not overwhelmed by the heat. Unfortunately that will make the shock of returning to Philadelphia that much worse next week!

Anyway, here are last week's totals:
Miles (all running): 12.6 miles
Minutes (running + Pilates): 194 minutes

Great work everyone! I haven't checked the totals in a while, but from what you are saying we are doing great as a team!

Hi everyone! Sorry to say I had low mileage last week, only rode three days, for a total of 70 miles and 4 hours, 20 minutes. Spent four days in West Virginia at a music festival. Did a lot of walking but did not keep track of it.

A quick pop-in to post miles from last week.

29.22 miles/243 minutes

Take care everyone.
