Wow! Fantastic! Reading your post makes me really miss biking, but we've had so much wind here that I keep putting off getting on my bike.

Hello everyone, hope we all had a great week! Once again I did not do any running, so all my mileage is on the bike. And there was an actual race I did last Sunday. It was really two seperate races, I did a 10K and a 20K race, of which I won my age group (2nd overall) in the 10 and in the 20 came in 4th in my age and 6th overall. 10K equates to about 18 miles, so that would make that 36.

So I have 36 on Sun - 59 min
25 on Mon - 1.5 hr
25 on Tue - 1.5 hr
25 on Wed - 1.5 hr
25 on Thur - 1.5 hr
and 50 on Sat - 4 hr

for a total of 186 miles and 11 hours (minus a minute)

Have a great week everyone! Keep up the good work!

Here are my totals for last week:

Weights: 130 Minutes
Running: 26.66Miles in 108Minutes and 41Seconds (Includes double miles
for races)

Wanted to report for last week - 6/13-6/19

total 10.62 miles (6.12 was on bike)
total 101 mins (1 hr 41 mins)

Not much this week since I cut my toe and I think it might be getting infected - I really hope its not since I want to run a 5k race this weekend.

Captain, I'm in California visiting my DS and grandkiddies and don't have last weeks totals, so I will be late posting. I will post next Friday for last week and this week.
Everyone, have a great week!

Hello there again, teammates! This has been a bit of a rough week for me since last weekend I stayed out in the sun too long and got sunburned. That made it where I missed a few days of my workouts. But then I refocused my attack in the latter part of the week and was still able to break the 100 mile barrier, although not by much.

Here are my totals:

Miles - 112
Time - 11 hours
(I am already on planning agood walk and workout today so those numbers are going to be better this week.)

Also, I am posting Liz's (Twotoohappy) numbers as she has went out of town to New Hampshire for a few days. She is now off from work and having some fun so I know we all wish her a safe and fun trip.

Her totals are:

Miles - 89
Time - 17.5 hours

I hope everyone else is having a great week. This coming Friday is 4th of July. Let's all have a "BANG" of a good week.

Bryan

Hey guys!

I'm back from Arizona and home for a few days - and then I go off to Maine on Saturday!

I did manage to get in runs twice while in Arizona. During the second run my Garmin ran out of batteries, so I approximated the distance. I also did a bit of Pilates during the week.

Totals:
Time: 121 minutes
Miles: 8.5

It should be a lot easier to get in all my workouts in Maine. We're visiting my husband's family, and it's more of a second home there than a vacation! Plus is will be a lot cooler there.

Hi everyone, hope we all had a great weekend! Here are my weekly totals, once again it is all on a bicycle, no running. it has been too hot to go rn at my usual running time. IiI have 108 miles, and 6 hours, 40 minutes. Just a question, do you want the times just in minutes , or is the hours/minutes formal ok?

Have a good week! Four day weekend coming up!

I have to post them as hours and minutes. But, it's easy enough to do the math. Don't matter to me, either way is cool.

Good Morning team, I have been assigned to the triple Ds and would like to introduce myself. I am new to the Dis teams but old to the Dis boards. I am registered to do my second Goofy in 09 and have been running for 20 years - all of them at a rather slow pace. I have started to supplement my running with some biking and do weight training twice a week. Look forward to gaing some of my lost motivation - lost it somewhere in February and can't seem to find it anywhere:confused3 . Oh, and I also coach 4th through 8th graders in both track and cross country (a few of them have actually gotten faster than I am since I started coaching them:banana: ).

Can someone point me to the thread (if there indeed is one) that has all of the rules/directions for our competition? Do we work of a Sunday to Saturday week or is it a Monday to Sunday week. What is the double miles thing? How often do we post? Thanks in advance for the information.

Hello Tripple Ds. Say hello to your new player, Mike the GoofyGuy1958. I didn't tell him about the dress code for posting so i hope he isn't wearing a pink bunny suit with feet.

Mike, you post your miles from any sourse as long as it's under your own power and all the hours spent exercising.

Any miles done in a race count double since we want to encourage people to partake of the events.

We count hours because I for one promote a whole life style which means doing the other activities that contribute to fitness, pilaties, stretching, swimming ect...

Also activities that are strenous count as exercise, an hour of shoveling snow, raking leaves or using a push mower are strenous and count. Light house keeping like vacuuming do not.

The reason for counting the activities like push mowing and snow shoveling ect.. is to promote doing more activities that we normally let machines do for us.

You can post your miles and activities each day if you want or just stop in and say hello, but each week you report your miles/hours to BigVic the captain of the team.

Thanks Dave, I took the pink bunny suit off so I could go out and try my daisy pump action BB gun - and no, I didn't shoot my eye out either.:rotfl:

Well if that is the case, I am submitting my first official post with 13 trail miles on the mountain bike in 1 hour and 2 minutes for Sunday.

That is interesting, I should post the time that I put in at my once-in-a-while part time job. A friend owns a tree service, and maye twice a month I work for him. I consider it getting paid to go to the gym, it is a full day of walking, carrying and lifting branches and logs!

Mike,

Welcome to the Triple D's!!!! We are very happy to have you. It sounds like you are off to a good start. Trust me when I say that we all have times that we seem to loose our motivation. I know it has happened to me several times in the past but having this team atmosphere, I feel like I let the team down if I don't get out there and put in the time and the miles. So this has been a great motivator for me.

Let's get out there and put in the time!!

Bryan

Thanks Bryan,
Having been running for almost 20 years (will be 20 years come next Feb.), I have had my ups and downs but this down (running down that is) has lasted for almost 6 months and is highly unusual. I going to chalk this up to 2 things: 1. I am turning 50 this year and 2. I have not registered for a race since last November (other than the Goofy that is) and haven't had a personal goal to shoot for. So, I believe joining this great group of people will be the kick in the seat I am in need - that and I will be running a 5K on Friday to help 5 or 6 of my track team (I coach 4th to 8th grade kids in track) throught their first or second 5k.

As for work outs: last night was a weight lifting night with 60 minutes of pumping iron.
