I'm back from the other side of the pond (and this seems appropriate, being that I'm a Defiant Duck

). Amsterdam was fun and productive!
Turns out, my boss runs, too. But she's 5 years younger, and a good 40 pounds lighter than me. I mentioned that I wanted to go running on Tuesday after work and she chimed in that she wanted to go, too. I knew I'd be holding her back, but she said she didn't care. In the end, she pushed me, while I held her back, and she cut about 30 seconds per mile off my time. Moreover, we ran 4.5 miles - longer than I've run all year! We also went running on Thursday after work and she cut my time some more. It kicked my butt, but in a good way.

Of course, the temperature last week in Amsterdam wasn't over 70 degrees, so the running was pleasant.
Now I'm back to running in HOT Houston. The humidity may do me in here soon, but I'm gonna keep battling at it. I need to get my endurance up, especially in the heat.
It's great to keep up with everyone here. Glad so many are finding ways to keep up the running (or biking or strength training).
Quack on!
