Happy Weekend everyone!
Debbie & I had a good 10k this morning. I finished at 59:53 and Debbie finished in 1:10:23 a minute faster than her last 10k. The course was very hilly and I wasn't expecting that. I will probably be feeling that tomorrow.

Megan: welcome back, it's too bad we couldn't meet up during the EE, we could have had a Duck group photo with Augie.

Renee: pretty funny about see Tink in the morning, you should head out one morning in a Wendy costume and join her.

Carissa: nice job on the 2 mile run today:thumbsup2 (from FB). What's up with the photos of vegetables? I'm still waiting for the cake pictures.

Have a good week!

Joe

Joe~WTG on your 10K! Was your goal to get in under 60min? I'd like to do a 10K in under 60min someday.

You didn't like my chocolate chip zucchini cookies?? :confused3 I posted those on Facebook.

In order to lose the rest of the weight, I kinda need to stay away from the "serts" and stick with the veggies. :rolleyes1

It did feel good to get back on the treadmill. Weird thing is, I'm a bit sore today. That rarely happens to me, even when I took a couple of months off.

Here Joe - I'll post these here so you can look at them when you have a cake craving. This was one of my favorites - Lemon Truffle Cake

Renee~

Megan~Welcome back from the CP! I hope it was a wonderful time for you! That's great you did EE! How nice you're doing that 5K with your grandmother in mind. :goodvibes
What's the name of your Sept. 3 5K? I tried to search and didn't find it.

Sorry! It's actually a 10K and it's in Crisfield, Maryland. It's part of the Hard Crab Derby. I don't know it's official name, I just always call it the Hard Crab 10K!

Megan: welcome back, it's too bad we couldn't meet up during the EE, we could have had a Duck group photo with Augie.

I agree! I honestly was working 52 hours that week so I completly forgot to get online! :( I actually went straight from working 9-6 to the race. :scared1:

MarathonMommy: It is the same Ruben. He has actually lost a good amount of weight, from a healthier lifestyle. It was announced at the first of the year that he was going to put together the races. I'm excited that it has a 5k, half and full. The races are inexpensive (especially if compared to Disney races) and it's nice to have another race weekend in town. We have the Mercedes race weekend also but it is in early February. The only thing that upsets me about the race is that I think it should be called the "Velvet Teddy Bear" race.

Renee: My morning runs are going good. I have my days though. However I must say that I do not have as much excitement on my runs. Maybe the ocassional startled deer but thats about it. I did have a drunk guy one morning offer me a beer when I passed him.

Joe: Good job on the 10k. Good luck training for the W&D.

Meagan: Good to have you back. How was the CP? Good luck training to you and your fiance.

Carissa: My mouth started watering when I saw the cake pictures. I to love cake. Keep them coming, I can get my feel here without every taking a bite.

I'll have to come back later and give an update on my trip to the world this past weekend. Hope everyone is well and that your training is good.

Tim

The CP was amazing. It honestly was the best experience that I have ever had and I'm so grateful for it in so many ways.

Exactly! There are no calories in just looking. :thumbsup2

Look forward to hearing about your trip! I'm starting to look forward to January. :goodvibes

Happy 4th weekend everyone. Is anyone doing a 4th inspired run this weekend? I am taking a long weekend on the lake visiting my parents. My big toe is bothering me, so I am taking a short break from running and will get back into it next week. I am attempting to play golf tomorrow, I'll probably wish I was running instead.
Have a good holiday weekend.

Enjoy your weekend on the lake, Joe! Hope your toe gets better with the short break. :thumbsup2

No race for me. I can't handle doing races in the summer months. I'm not signed up for anything until the marathon relay in January. My husband's ship is now out of the yards so his schedule is so up in the air. I never know when he'll be home. Too difficult to plan races around.

Happy 4th everyone!

Happy fourth of July everyone! I ran a sweltering 5k yesterday, and have a long run planned tomorrow. Have a good holiday!

Happy Belated Forth of July!

DH and I ran a "neighborhood" 10K on Monday. I finished in 1:12:14!

I just got an inhaler, because apparenly all the recent trouble I have been having with breathing and side pain was exercised induced asthma (made worse by the Louisiana Summer:scared1:). It's AMAZING the difference it made. I was able to run without fighting myself the whole time. WooHoo!!!

Happy Running!

Hello Ducks! Happy Fourth, belatedly. I was away for almost a week up in Watkins Glen, attending a Phish festival that was held at the racetrack. I was a volunteer worker, and because of that I missed a 5K that they held there, which was on the track. They presented these huge trophys to first three finishers (and first woman) on stage during one of the sets. And I mean huge, like 4 feet tall trophys. Some fast runners, the top three guys were all in the 15 minute range. And because I was away I missed a Fouth of July 8K that I did last year. But still biking, brought my bike with me and rode into town from the racetrack, which was five miles. Great ride into town, all downhill, so the return was a good workout.

Nice cake pics! Congrats to all the finishers in your local races! Keep up the training and have a great week!

Hello to all the Ducks!
How is everyones training going, hopefully no aches and pains:hippie:.
My toe is getting better, so I'm back on the trail. I managed 10 mile Saturday morning and it felt pretty good. Debbie did 9.5 miles, she is doing really good. I think she is starting to believe she can do a half. Even though we have over 50 days till the DL half marathon, I'm getting a little excited for this race. We are having lunch at Club 33 on the Friday we get in:cool1:. I think I will be geeking out through the meal.

Have a good week, waddle on Ducks.:donald:

Hi Ducks!
In preparation for the Marine Corps Marathon, I registered for two other "training runs". I am going to do the Philadelphia Rock n' Roll Half again on September 18 and the Long Beach Island 18 miler on October 8. I switched back to the Hal Higdon plan. I didn't feel that Galloway was giving me enough miles. However, I still plan on using his planned walking breaks to get me through the long runs.

Hope all is well with my fellow ducks!

Good morning, Ducks! Just finished my 5 mile training fun for the Marine Corps Marathon. I have a small change of plans. I decided to not use the Galloway training program totally. I am using the Higdon Novice Plan for mileage. I didn't feel like I was running enough using Galloway's and used Higdon's last year. I think I am still going to use the planned walking breaks for my LONG long run, though. Today, I just ran the 5 straight through - funny, my time was about the same as using the breaks.

Anyway, I can't remember whether or not I mentioned the cause I am running for at MCM. I am trying to do some fundraising for the Semper Fi Fund - an organization that raised funds for wounded soldiers and their families. For example, they may provide modified housing and transportation for those injured or allow a family to be bedside during a recovery. Good stuff! If you feel you can make a donation, it would be greatly appreciated but understand if you cannot or choose not to. My fundraising page can be found at http://www.active.com/donate/semperfifundmcm2011/LSchneiderMCM . Thanks for your consideration!

Hi Everyone,
I hope I can still be considered a "Duck" even though I have not posted in forever. :sad1: Had some ITB/Knee issues after the marathon & it really got me down.

But happy to say that after visits to the Sports Med doc + strengthening & just dealing with the "clicking," I'm back in the game.

Did five miles today 9:49 pace (a little slow, but oh well).

It's a beautiful day here in South Jersey = NO humidity!
Hope everyone has a GREAT day & weekend!

Karin :flower3:
