Dolphins/Atlantis/Dolphins/Atlantis....??????

Ok let's hear it...which should we do. Tell me all the pros and cons . One of the big Cons about Discovery Cove is that you HAVE to go.....even if the weather is bad. DS who is handicapped does not understand this..if it is cold..no water!!! But then again..pro SWIM WITH THE DOLPHINS!!!! We tease that DS makes Flipper noises when he is happy. OK let me have it. I need to hear it all. What did you like, what didn't you like. I am probably not thinking of all the pros and cons since we have never done either. I have learned to trust what I hear here. Thanks in advance

WELL, FOR US IT WAS WELL WORTH THE MONEY. WE WENT RIGHT AFTER THEY OPENED AND DS AND DD ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT IT. THE PARK IS WONDERFUL AND PEOPLE ARE VERY NICE AND HELPFUL, I DON'T KNOW WHEN YOU ARE GOING, BUT WHEN WE WERE THERE IT LOOKED LIKE RAIN BUT ONLY RAINED FOR A LITTLE WHILE THEN CLEARED OFF. WOULD I DO IT AGING? YES, IN A HEARTBEAT, JUST TO SEE THE JOY AND BE ABLE TO HEAR THE KIDS STILL TALK ABOUT IT YEARS LATER, BUT THAT'S JUST MY OPION.

Thank you so much for the info. I am one of those people who really gives a lot of weight to what people have experienced. The brochures for both the Atlantis and The Dolphin Ex. look fantastic so I am hoping for some input!! Thakns again for the reply

My vote would be for the Dolphin swim, but you have to book this on your own. Disney only does the encounter. DH & DS did the swim and they had a ball. We could not afford for 3 of us to do the swim, so I just stayed on the dock and took pictures. The look on DS face when the dolphin swam up to him for a hug, I will never forget that look. It was worth the cost! We wanted to do Atlantis also, but I think learning about dolphins and getting to interact with them was a better way to spend our money.

So how did you get to the Dolphin swim if you didn't book through Disney. I would LOVE to do this, but I am not use to traveling and am a bit nervous about going it on our own.

Is it far from the ship? Is there a shuttle you can take. How do you book it by yourself?

Hey D&L's Mom,

I just wanted to clarify that it is not Discovery Cove, but the Dolphin Encounter / Swim at Blue Lagoon, right? Isn't Discovery Cove the Marine Park near Disney Orlando? Do not know your travel plans, or $$$ restrictions. But would that Park be another option for Dolphins, before or after your cruise? Hhhmmmm.

And, about the weather, when is your cruise?

Anyhow, the only way I have heard to book the Dolphin Swim is directly thru them. I think it is Dolphinswim.com?? And, Shoretrips.com may possibly be another option. Dave, do you have that link again to that awesome article about the Dolphin Swim? That would convince anybody interested to want to do this! Like you, I wouldn't know the logistics of getting there and back, outside of being escorted by DCL! Sombody here must know....

Yes, I just doublechecked, and Shoretrips.com does offer the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim. I think I saw a price of $145.00.

And, checked to be sure on Discoverycove.com as well. Never been, but this Park looks awesome too!
