So this was definitely not my plan! I have trip 5/15 to 5/21 with myself and DS5. My Step Daughter, who lives in Florida, and her DS5 are joining us later in the week for two days.

I originally dismissed the after hours event since it would be four of us and the price tag was just too high. So I decided to go ahead with the early morning for just myself and DS5. Then Disney had to go and offer the 50% off for DVC. Between the reduced cost and the reviews of the event, I was now at least considering it. Talked to my Step Daughter to see if her little guy could do a late night (mine definitely can) and she said absolutely.

I know that many think this is not worth it, but I don't agree. For the day of the after hours event, their first day joining us, we will now spend the whole day enjoying our resort (AKV). We will let the kids play at the pool, take naps, and head out around 7 PM for the MK. Based on reports so far, we will be able to accomplish as much in the after hours event as we would probably do in two MK days.

That sounds like a great plan.

We're considering making a special short trip to experience the after hours event sans kiddo since we took a big trip last year!

But the reason you no longer agree is because the price went DOWN for you. Yes, at $75, I'd probably consider it as well. That's cheaper than a one day ticket to any of the parks. Would you be going if they had not reduced the price?

I definitely would not be going at twice the price. I had already decided I wouldn't, which is why I went with the morning event instead. We already all have an AP, so it is not saving a day of tickets.

After reading the headline, I thought you meant both in the same day (and realized later they aren't scheduled that way) - but immediately thought, "um yes, do that! I would if I could find enough caffeine!" :coffee:

That's great that they're offering a DVC discount! I'd definitely do the evening one for $75. I personally wouldn't pay the money for the morning one just because I don't think it's worth it to my family for those 3 rides. But the nighttime one seems like a much better option, there's tons of rides open. But it comes at a price! For my family we'd have to pay $450 to do it and I'm not even sure my daughter would last so I doubt we'll be doing that if it's offered during our trip. But if my kids were older and I knew they could hang until 2am we'd definitely consider it, especially since you can get in at 7.

I would but my kids would never last past 10pm... Have a great trip!

LOL *I* wouldn't last that late ^^^ and def not my DD's. It will be a number of years before I could do that, but maybe if I had teenagers or something.

OTOH I am planning on the early morning magic <3

We have APs, and I would do it at $75, but my kids would not make it (even my 9 year old)
