We are doing a split stay for our upcoming trip in Nov. First nights will be in 2 connecting rooms at WL. Last bit of trip will be in a 2 bdrm at SSR or OKW.

We have stayed several times at SSR and really enjoy the resort. Love the pools, community hall, Artist Palette, walk to DTD, etc. We have never stayed at OKW and there is an appeal in staying somewhere new.

We probably won't be back to WDW for at least 3 years. Which would you choose?

Well the 2 bedroom suites at OKW are the the largest 2 bedroom suites at WDW, since OKW was the first DVC! If you want the extra space, then choose OKW, it is also really a lovely resort. If you are driving, a nice feature is that you can park your car in front of your unit, which beats a long walk from the parking lot, like other WDW resorts! OKW also has many "quiet" pools so chances of having a pool without the crowds is good. We havent stayed SSR, but did enjoy our stay at OKW. If you are looking for something new, then give it a try. BTW, did you consider one of the tree-houses at SSR?

Hi there. Well, since this will your last trip for several years, go BIG! try out something new. :cool1: Have you considered the villas at Beach Club and Boardwalk? And as Singinglizzie pointed out, those tree-houses might be worth some thought. Whatever you decide, I'm sure you and your family will have a blast!

Having stayed at both, I enjoyed both, but I really loved OKW! It was such a quiet resort. You can take a pleasant boat ride to Downtown Disney and there are a few pools to choose from. Granted, you'll miss the Artist Pallet, but if you want to try the TS, Olivia's, I highly recommend it!

My next trip is to SSR, which I've never stayed at so I can't comment on the two in comparison with one another, but OKW is up there with my top 3 resorts. I think it's often forgotten and I LOVE it! We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite a couple years ago and it was fabulous. It's so spacious and open. I also just love the grounds of OKW. I really feel like I can get away from it all and feel relaxed after a busy day. The boat to DTD was great, staff was excellent and the pool is fantastic. Do not hesitate to stay here! :goodvibes

I have stayed at both SSR and OKW and actually own at SSR, but my favorite is OKW. The 2 bedroom are wonderful. We stayed at the tree houses last winter, and to be honest I think they are overrated, the points value is higher than the OKW and the space is much much more cramped. The beds are smaller, and we just did not like it as much as OKW. I am staying at AKL Villas in Nov (studio Kidiani) just 2 of us.
