Hello all
How is everyone's weekends going so far?
Me and Dave had a great day today. The sun was shining and the temperature soaring. We decided last minute that we would go to London Zoo for the day to make use of our Annual Passes.
We like going to London Zoo as we both love animals and enjoy taking pictures of them, or rather Dave does as I'm no good. Besides, it makes for good practice for when we go to Disney.
So off we went nice and early, getting there for just before opening. We messed around for a little while taking pictures
A crowd had already formed by the time we got there.
Before we knew it the doors were opening and it was time to go hunting (well not literally). We decided to take the backwards route and go towards the back of the Zoo then towards the main attractions and it wasn't a bad idea as we pretty much had that part of the Zoo to ourselves.
We saw some wild dogs, fiercesome creatures that could bite your arm clean off. We stayed well back whilst taking these pictures as they looked like they would pounce on us at any second
Next up we went to say hello to Pumbaa, who was pottering about. I think he was looking for Timon. We told him that if we saw Timon we would tell him that him that he was looking for him, to which he replied Hukuna Matata!
I love empty looking pictures, so peaceful with just the birds and animals for company.
I was feeling all artistic and told Dave to shoot the zebras this way. Came out pretty well dontcha think?
Although he had to go one better and be more arty photographer
We rang into these guys, so beautiful and graceful
Was quite fascinating to watch him bite and lick the bark off of the branch, took it off in one clean swipe.
We left him to his breakfast as he eyeing up my "picnic" bag with a hungry look. We left so quickly that Dave walked into this.
Apparently it was quite sharp and managed to spike him in the neck and head

Bless.
We carried on walking and bumped into...

Timon! We told him Pumbaa was looking for him and off he scurried.
With our Africa visit over, we decided to hop on over to the rainforest.
We do like going in here as the animals get to roam freely, rather than pace behind bars or glass. Boy was it hot in here, we had just missed a tropical shower storm and they were pumping out "cold" mist, which FYI was not cold, it just made it more wet and humid!
Here's a misty picture for you.
