Doin it in Style @ The Poly! September 2010 Here we Come!!!

Looks like you guys had great fun at the London Zoo. You have some very nice photos there! Ah Pooh bear... nice props to my home Province! :thumbsup2

Thanx, yeah its not the same as AK, but it will do for now :goodvibes

Glad you had a good day out in Oxford St, can't wait to see what you bought. Did you get any Lola's?

Unfortunately we didn't make it to Lola's or Selfridges! we turned left down to Regent Street when we got to Oxford Circus... I did see a lovely looking cupcake shop in Covent Garden ('Sweet Cakes'?) but we didn't go in.
I love that around Covent Garden nearly every other person has a Disney Store bag! :cutie:

Hope you're having a nice Sunday! DF & I went shopping this morning and he bought a new tv.. 40" :scared1: it looks huge! but he is so happy with it lol.

Lol yes.. all ready for the world cup!
This afternoon I had to phone Sky (bills are in my name!) and upgrade us to HD ;)
The customer services man asked if I liked sports.. as we have Sky Sports & ESPN add ons ... so I had to explain it was for my fiance, not me!!

We have Soccer Aid match on tv right now....

Love your zoo pictures! I just made my brother who loves animals come over to look, too! :thumbsup2 Looks like a really nice zoo!

HD makes a huge difference, people who dont have it dont understand it and think there is no difference. Their loss :)

I highly recommend Spartacus Blood & Sand. I have wathed it for 2 weeks and downloaded the remaining 11 episodes and have spent the past 2 days watching them. I can't stop lol, Im on episode 10 now I think so off I go.

Thanks for the comments on the pictures, we are trying to use different settings and different sorts of shots in preparation for our trip to Disney :D

You sound like Joe....he says the same about HD. :rolleyes1:lmao: Honestly, you two have a lot of similarities!

I think you're doing great with your photographs techniques. I can't wait to see what you do when you are at Disney. :thumbsup2

Stefy,

Love your zoo pictures! :thumbsup2 It looks like you had an amazing day at the zoo. Joe and I have not been to the Cleveland Zoo in years.

Thanx :) You guys should go for a visit, would be nice to see pics as you take great ones :thumbsup2

Stefy, great update! The London Zoo looks like a great place to visit. And you guys got some great pictures!

What a fun day at the zoo!

Thank you :) Was a really lovely day.

Thanks :) I was a little disappointed that the statue and plaque are so out of the way, but I think that the Outback enclosure used to be a black bear enclosure so it most probably tied in with the theme, but still being in the corner is not the best place for a beloved bear :(

Lol, World Cup preparation underway I see. See all the good deals on cases on beer in Sainsburys? I hope you got something nice for yourself too :) Shame you didn't get to go to Lola's, maybe next time.

They would get on like a house on fire :)

Thank you, I can't wait to try out different picture angles of Disney. Get my artistic side on :teeth:

Sooooooooooooooooooo, Halloween Party tips, lets hear what you got :D

I want to ride Haunted Mansion on this night but realise it will probably be too busy so will have to see about it. We want to see the villians after the show on the castle stage, has anyone done this before? What time did you aim to get there for? I hear that you need to get right to the front in order to speak with them as there is no line system. Is that true?

We plan on catching the second parade as it should be quieter as parents should start to leave once they have seen the first parade/fireworks. I think we wont bother trick or treating until the close of the night as I hear they give you lots more candy then if you went in the beginning hours of the party.

I dont know if it is still there but I also read something about a side door somewhere by Aloha Isle (think thats right, where they serve Dole Whips) and that there are special characters in there sometimes and you get different candy. Anyone know anything about this? I guess I am just after any tips you guys may have or just to discuss past parties. Not sure I am going in costume, dont know if I am brave enough haha!

Hi enjoyed all the photos from your zoo day, looked like a great first picnic too! ah day trips wouldn't be the same without a souveneir stop! world cup starting tomorro...boo!:rotfl:

The zoo was very cool, apart from walking into that spiky bush thingy, that jabbed me right in the back of my head :lmao:

World cup starts in 2hrs and 15 minutes, boss isnt here so maybe, just maybe we will sneak to the pub next door (I mean it is literally attached to the office building).

Stefy probably won't be posting much over the next week, we have had a complete nightmare with the wedding venue owners and have basically been pushed into a corner and forced to cancel our wedding there! What we thought were once really friendly and caring people, turned out to be greedy money hungry a**holes. So understandably she is incredibly upset and stressed out now as we/she has spent 2-3 months planning and speaking to florists etc only to have that thrown away. She is now on the hunt for another venue so fingers crossed she will find something even better and get back on here to post

Thanx for the pixie dust, we sure do need it right now.

Hey Guys

Sorry for the lack of updates, but as Dave said I have had the worst week this week. It all started out so well, went to see Sex and the City and had a lovely girls night out and then bam! Disaster strikes.

So I was all prepared to pay my deposit this week and I asked the venue to send me a last revised breakdown of everything, to which she did. Now my practical head was turned on this week as I have been thinking figures and I was looking at one figure on the breakdown and I thought to myself do we really need to spend that much money on food and crisps when there is a pub round the corner that our guests could go to wait whilst we took the traditional family photos after the ceremony. So I went back to the venue and was very open and honest and asked for that charge to be taken off. I received an email back which explained the cost as being reasonable and that she understood if I was having second thoughts about the wedding. Now hold on, I never said that I was having second thoughts, all I wanted was you to not charge me for nibbles and one drink per guest as it was an unnecessary expense right now and would be reviewed later on. So I thought this must be an emailed misinterpretation so I rang her and she explained that because they are doing this new packages now (more expensive than the first ones) to cover their costs and staff shortages because we had so many guests she had to charge me £5 per guest to come to my wedding. To say the least I was outraged that my wedding guests were being treated like nightclub goers who had to pay a door charge I thought this is the last straw (as we had problems before this that I took in my stride as being normal wedding problems) we aren't getting married here anymore! I just couldn't believe it was going this way, I tried really hard to get past her emails where she was so formal with me and not exciting in my excitement, even if she had to be fake, I mean for gods sake I am a new bride getting married, not someone that is staying at your B&B and happening to get married as an extra!!!

So I emailed to cancel and aired out my upset at my treatment etc in a very professional way. Didn't trash her and was never rude or *****y.

I got a reply back yesterday and the horrible woman had copied in the registrar, the florist and my reception venue and aired out all her justifications to my email to them, rather than me. To say I was furious is an understatement. I cannot believe she did that, as this only happened on Wednesday night and I hadn't even had a chance to ring all the people I contacted in person to say thank for all your help but due to unforseen circumstances etc etc. Its like she wanted to get to them first in case I bad mouthed and trashed her precious business to them. Which I would never do because I am not like that at all.

So I am going to reply back one last time and say I don't want a slanging match and I am not going to reply to your points individually but I believe you were extremely unprofessional in copying those people in when I had not even had a chance say I was cancelling our wedding. You are not worth my time and effort anymore, good luck to you.

So that is our wedding woe right now. We are on a tight schedule to find somewhere new and I need to number crunch this weekend to see what is possible and what is not.

Sorry for the rant and thanx for bearing with me.

Love to you all

Stefy x

 Aww Stefy. Sorry to hear about all the problems and stress. Hopefully it will all work out for the better and you'll find a venue with great people that will work hard to make your wedding day special.

Now on to the World Cup. My DH is gearing up for the game, but I'm sure our hopes are a little different on this side of the pond:rolleyes: Actually DH told me he is just hoping we don't lose by more than three goals. And our neighbor is actually rooting for England because they have a chance at taking it all and knows USA doesn't have a prayer:laughing: Enjoy the game!

OH my goodness, Stefy that is awful! What a horrid woman!! As if you really need that added stress right now. You are absolutely right...her JOB is to be excited and encouraging for you and Dave. I am shocked at how unprofessional and RUDE she is! Good luck speaking to the other vendors. I'm sure if they have worked with her before, they must have had other problems with her. You seem like a fairly easy-going bride so for you to get to the point of canceling, there must have been some other brides who haven't put up with her crap!

And good luck finding new places to book with. I'm sure everything will fall into place!

England England England!!!!

Almost time for kick off :D

Anyone see my Halloween Party questions? ;)

Thanx ladies  It hasn't been fun, so much so that I have a mouth ulcer as a result of it :sad1:

But on to slighter better news, we have seen two possible venues that we like and are thinking about changing the month we get married now to make it easier on budgets, time etc

So who's watching the World Cup then?
