Just got back from WDW and a guy at BW pool said that his guide calls him every time he goes to WDW. He said he just leaves a little short message on his BW phone to say hi.

I thought that was VERY unusual!! WOW, my guide has never ONCE called me while on vacation! Of course I would not expect him to, but what a "magical Moment" for this guy and his wife to get a phone call every time!
Oh, by the way he bought 4 years ago in 2000, so his is not a newbie to DVC..
Just thought you would like to know....
Does anyone else get a call while at WDW???

I use to - but being a very unfriendly person I never returned her calls - she still does when I stay in a 1 or 2 bedroom but for a studio (I am often in a studio) - she doesn't anymore - my fault not hers.

Over Easter, I got a call from the desk welcoming me back to my DVC home at the BCVs. I know last year we were stayng at OKW with a friend and he got the same call. I'll be there next week and it will be interesting to see if we get a call at SSR.

At this point, I'm not even sure who my guide is anymore. My original guide is long gone from DVC (although she may still be with Disney). Some people develop personal relationships with their guides and/or continue to buy from their guide. They are more likely to get phone calls welcoming them home. Remember to substitute the word "salesperson" for "guide" before being concerned about getting phone calls. ;)

My Guide has never called me. but Member SErvices tracked me down at OKW on one trip to let me know that a wait list had cleared for me. Thought it was neat that they saw in their system I was staying at WDW and bothered to get in touch with me. I appreciated it.

We always have a recorded message from our guide on our answering machine. Not sure if she calls and we aren't there or if they have a way to send the recording directly to the room?

We have never received a call from our guide while at WDW. We receive mass mailings, but that is all.

We have received calls from our guide- she has always left a message each time because we arent ever in the room to get the call!
COme to think of it though- last trip we didnt get a call.

My guide used to call me.......until I did the 2nd add-on and told her I was "done". Guess she's moved on to greener pastures.

I've never received a call from my guide while at WDW. In fact, she left me a voice mail on my work # asking me to call her regarding the additional points available at BWV last year, I picked it up after I returned from the trip.

My guide called me a could of times after we first purchased, but not for ages. However, I'm aslo sure that most folks would not expect what is basically a sales call on vacation, even though it is a very nice sales call.

But yes, HBC, there is a way to do selective "quiet" messaging at the resorts, where the phones don't ring but they access your VoiceMail, the CMs do it all the time for special announcements like fishing excursions or package delivery.

We've been members since 1992 and still get a call from Judy Kauffman.....she's terrific!

Haven't heard from my guide since I signed the Mickey ears and dated the palm trees. And that's okay with me. :)

Wow, good customer service is a powerful thing. It's amazing to see people remember something as simple as a phone call, and the fact that even some of the guides place these calls speaks well of DVC.

Has anyone who owns another timeshare gotten the same courtesy from their salesperson?

Thanks Chuck. I thought so. I'm very surprised all of the guides don't take advantage of this sytem.

We bought BWV in Oct. '03. My dd and I went to WDW in mid-Dec as a last minute treat. We had never done the 'DVC tour' so decided to check it out. When we got back to our room at the AllStarMusic, there was a message waiting from Betty. Seems she noticed that we had done the tour, called us at home, in Ma, where dh told her we were in WDW, at the AllStars. So, she called us there. Just talked to her yesterday in fact and she said to give her a call when we get there and she'll be available to say hi!!!

We just got back from SSR. Got a call from our guide Larrissa. We called her back. It was great talking with her. She is having her first baby in about 4 weeks!!!! She is hoping to return at some point after the baby is born. We enjoy having her as our guide. If she is yours, give her a call and wish her well, I think she would really love that. Right now she is on the phones only, not meeting new people. Doctor told her it was time to start resting some.

We talk with our guide and usually see him each trip. He keeps us posted on availability of points and sometimes just a heads up on what's new around the properties.
