Does Your Dog Sleep in Your Bed??

Zander is 12 pounds of spoiled chihuahua/minpin attitude. He sleeps under the covers, curled up next to me. He will "nudge" to be let in, but it works for me because when he sleeps on top of the covers he weighs them down too much. When my housemate's shared Springer is visiting, he jumps in if Brian's not home. 55 pounds of dog is just too much!

Our dogs sleep in the bed...I am hoping to break them of that, though. I really think that they should sleep in the spare bedroom if they want to sleep on a bed

It's more like I get to sleep in their bed

nope but the cats do. girl cat sleeps at my feet, boy cat sleeps at dh's feet ;) LOL

Treasure ( our Golden Retreiver) guards the kids rooms.

with us and takes more then her fair share of the bed. Our last dalmatian, Jasmine, had arthritis at the end and we took our water bed off the pedestal and put it on the floor so she could walk on it with no problems. Yah our dog is spoiled and we woulnd't have it any other way

Don't know how he does it, but our lab "sneaks" up on our bed after we're asleep. Honest - I don't feel him at all! Eventually I wake up and can't move (of course he's on my side) so I nudge him off. Occasionally he plays "possum" and won't move - so here I am trying to shove 80 lbs. of dead weight off the bed in the middle of the night :D. Now if DS so much as sneezes in his room I'm instantly awake....how can this big dog sneak so well?? Our other dog, a rescue, has no desire to sleep in our bed and likes her own just fine, thank goodness!

Not only do they sleep in bed but they have their own pillows! We have a king-size bed, so there is room between DH and me for another pillow. Actually there are two laid down flat- big enough for two small terriers. Our female however usually sleeps ON DH's feet. Our male will paw me if he gets cold so I can throw the quilt on top of him!
Any foster dogs we have sleep in a crate in the bedroom- we are required to crate them by the rescue group (for the dog's safety, not to be mean).

Our dog Mika (half german shepherd/half huskie) sleeps in our water bed with us as does one of our cats. It's OK unless you get motion sick easily. As long as everybody lays still.....

We have a 4-year old cocker spaniel - who sleeps at the foot of our bed (on MY side) every night.

We adopted him from a shelter at 11 months old and sometimes I look at him - all curled up in my nice warm bed, and wonder if he has ANY IDEA of what kind of life I saved him from!!!!

My husband isn't too thrilled with the fact that he's chosen OUR bed over the kids - but as long as he's on MY side and not my husband's...

So, is my dog spoiled rotten? Do you let your dog sleep in your bed?
I have a 12 year old cocker spaniel that I adopted from a rescue group when he was a year old. He has been gloriously spoiled for the past 11 years. He slept in my bed from the first night that I got him.

As he's gotten older (and the beds have gotten higher) it's been difficult for him to get up in the bed. First I put a stool for him to use. Now he still needs help even with the stool. He goes over and puts his front paws on it and then looks up at me as if to say "I'm ready."

Never would he EVER sleep in my bed, to me thats just nasty. He's outside during the day laying in the grass, mudd and whatever else is on the ground, theres no way he's gonna be on MY bed! Cat doesnt either for that matter, they both have their own "pillows" at the foot of our bed on the floor

Yes, they do. My Maltese sleeps under the covers with her head on a pillow right between DH and I.

My Yorkie sleeps more at our feet (DH rolled over on her one night and scared her silly) but lately she's been coming up to the pillows again.

why of COURSE he sleeps with us! Would you leave that little furball on his own?

We didn't intend on it, but he spent 2 nights in the crate completely and that was it. He cried and screamed for 2 hours straight, and DH finally gave in and put him in the bed with us. He curled up and went right to sleep. This was at 11 weeks old.

He still isn't potty trained fully, so he can't be left out in the house anyways. He has never had an accident in our bed, as he sees it as his bed, too, and always wakes us if he needs off to go potty (he is too small to get on or off).

We LOVE snuggling with my baby, he's so sweet and warm in the morning! He rarely sleeps under the blanket, though. =) He tackles DH's face in the morning when he is ready to go potty and get up. I'm glad he's chosen him to do that task, I just turn over and snooze =)

Our toy poodle slept in our bed. Our golden retriever would lay on our bed but when she was ready to sleep she lay on the floor on my side of the bed. She was a pretty large dog and we only have a queen size bed. I think she felt crowded.

I sure do miss our Sassy Girl

Our 12 year old Standard Poodle sleeps in our bed inbetween my husband and myself. I'm the one who is usually hanging off the side of the bed in the morning. Our 6 year old Standard Poodle sleeps on his orthopedic dog bed at the foot of our bed on the floor.

No dogs here, but my cats (all three of 'em :cat: :cat: :cat: ) will sleep with me, one sleeps on top of me every single night. I love it! :cloud9:

No way.LOL
Our puppy is 55 lbs and sleeps in her kennel a few feet away from my side of the bed.
She sleeps on the bed often during the day, though.
But at night, no way she's too big.
