Oh boy, talk about a loaded question. Let's see I start to get ready for bed, this is the cue for our 100 lb black lab Max to stake his spot on the end of the bed. I get into bed, the mix breed 95 lb Scooby jumps up into DH spot head on pillow. DH pushes him off the bed and gets in. Scooby tries to convice Max to give up his spot. As if that would happen, he now goes into his crate in the other room. As the night goes by our cat Sonny now decides he want to sleep on the bed too. He snuggles down by Max who lets out a muffled half hearted growl. (does not not a mean bone in his body and the cat knows it. ) Sonny opens one eye they goes back to sleep. Max goes to sleep. In the morning either my DH or myself gets up first, now Scooby has reentered the bedroom and jumps up to take the empty spot. So as you can see there is rarely an empty spot on our bed. Nothing like a furry warm body during the long cold winters.
During the day, they seem to take turns on the bed to take naps. Mind you we have a cat bed (a toy to play on), dog bed ( another bed for the cat), crate, and not to mention the couch, love seat and overstuffed chairs. The furniture is for snuggling next to family members.
