Does Your Dog Sleep in Your Bed??

We have a 4-year old cocker spaniel - who sleeps at the foot of our bed (on MY side) every night.

We adopted him from a shelter at 11 months old and sometimes I look at him - all curled up in my nice warm bed, and wonder if he has ANY IDEA of what kind of life I saved him from!!!!

My husband isn't too thrilled with the fact that he's chosen OUR bed over the kids - but as long as he's on MY side and not my husband's...

So, is my dog spoiled rotten? Do you let your dog sleep in your bed?

Sometimes. We are hesitant to let him because Jack Russells...you give them an inch and...

But on the occasions when he does, he gets in between us, and sprawls out, usually leaving us teetering close to falling off the edge, while he's lounging comfortably.

He also sleeps under the blankets with his head on the pillow.

He has no idea that he is a dog, I'm pretty sure...

My dog Disney sleeps by my feet or legs every night. He follows me from room to room whereever I am. I would say he is spoiled. I also saved him.

Yes both of mine sleep in our bed at DH's insistence. I am lucky to get an inch to call my own between the 3 of them (dogs and DH) and it's a king size bed

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

I allow 3 of my dogs in bed....Its a Puggle fest...

I also occasionally allow the cat to sleep with us too

Our dog is too big to sleep on our bed but she does sleep at the foot of DD's bed. I don't know what she'll do when DD get's too tall.

Our 2 cats sleep with us, and my sister's dog prefers my bed when she visits. Apparently she also sleeps in her grandparents' bed when she can sneak in there (my sister lives with my parents) :-O Our 9-year-old cat has slept with us since the day we adopted him at 8-weeks-old. He is an OK co-sleeper. Our 7-year-old female sounds like the Jack Russell above...you give her an inch, and she takes up half the king-sized bed!!!

In our house it's more like the dog lets us sleep on HIS bed and he has no qualms about waking us up to let us know he doesn't have enough room and we should move. He is a pretty good snuggler though.

Our dog, Riley, is usually at the foot of the bed but as it gets colder she is inching up in between us. Yes she's spoiled but I love her and she's such a good dog I let her do just about anything.

Well, I'm sure glad to know that I'm not the only one with a spoiled rotten dog!!!!

Absolutely! If Petey is anywhere else I feel rejected! He sleeps either between DH and I or curled right up next to me once DH is gone to work. I wouldn't have it any other way. All my pets have slept in the bed with me once they were potty trained. He's not a dog, he's my son. Like some other poster said, he's a child who walks on all fours, is hairy and doesn't speak clearly. He's allowed on all the furniture, indulges in reeses pieces whenever I have them, is quite the fashion hound and even my mom and mil refer to him as their "grandog". But spoiled??? Nah, not my pupper.......

Yes I know that feeling. DH and I oftened get a beagle tap on the shoulder to let us know she wants to have the covers lifted for her to crawl back under. God forbid she does it herself.
And if she doesn't feel wanted or that there is enough room, she will make noises to wake you up so you can repeatedly say "Come on Roswell. Up!"

MY bed? Please. Beasley lets us sleep in HER bed! She is spoiled rotten - she has her own blanket that she sleeps under, though somehow sometimes she ends up under all the blankets. There have been many a morning that my DH & I wake up practically falling off our sides of the bed and the dog has the middle of the bed all taken up. You wouldn't think a 4 year old beagle would take up so much room, but she does! There are mornings also when she trys to lay on the pillows while we are still sleeping!

I'm so glad that Q isn't the only one that does this! She started sleeping under our blankets about 1 month ago and she will come up by my head and paw at the blanket (licking my face if I'm asleep) to let her in! It's so cute so I don't mind. Carter also sleeps with us. It takes him forever to find a comfortable position though, so if he wakes up in the middle of the night it can be a bit much. Once Q goes under the covers, he will come and lay on my pillow with me. I have no idea what I'm going to do when he is full grown. It's hard enough to share the bed now!!

Well, Rigby has his OWN bed too - but that's for during the DAY. At night, he's right there with us. He doesn't get under the covers. Sometimes he'll lay beside me, but once DH climbs into bed, Rigby moves down by my feet and stays there all night.

I'm the mother of 7 children - and 1 that walks on all fours and needs a haircut BADLY!!

I'm in the same boat. I try to convince my DS that since he wanted the puppy, he should bring him to bed with him. It's not so bad with one dog in our bed, but two is a bit much.

They are very cute and cuddly when they're sleeping, however.

My German Shepherd Cowboy, sleeps with us. He does take up alot of room. Our Basset Hound, Rufus, sleeps with either of my two sons. I'm never sure which bed I will find him in the morning.

Our five month old puppy isn't house trained enough to sleep with us at night. He will only sleep in his crate actually.. he has a bed in the living room but will not settle down and lay down anywhere but his crate... I would love a cuddle bug that will snuggle on the couch sometimes... I am hoping he grows out of it!!!

One of my cats sleeps with us all night.. he sleeps on my side on the edge of the bed. Sometimes he gets to be a bit of a hog but he's not bad!!! :) The other cat only sleeps with us if she is sick or missed us if we were away.. otherwise she sleeps outside the door.

Yes and Yes. One year for Christmas we gave Jefferson her own doggy bed. I kid you not, she ate it (had it shredded) in less than 24 hours - and this was expensive. Do you think she was trying to tell us something? :) So is the biggest sheet weight and we always fight each other for the covers.
