Your Cast of Characters: Me, DGD8 Skye, Lynn friend/coworker & first timer.
I woke this morning to strange voices in the living room, then the smell of coffee & bacon. Skye was still asleep beside me. Then I remember that we'd left a breakfast room service pre order thingy on our door before we left for enight the night before. Suddenly, I was famished and jumped out of bed. Then the pain hit. I'd forgotten that I had no skin on the insides of my thighs.
I walked straddlelegged to the bathroom, sat on the toilet, leaned over to find angry raw red & swollen flesh glaring back at me. What to do, what to do.
In the kitchen, Lynn was setting out a buffet of all the breakfast stuff as I straddled my way into the room. Lynn looked at me and we both bust out laughing at the way I was having to walk and the whole situation. Better laugh than cry I guess.
We'd ordered a "breakfast for four" deal but I swear there was enough food there to serve at least 10 people. Skye shuffled into the room all sleepyheaded. We ate and discused our plan. After breakfast Lynn went down to the gift shop to look for some big bandages while I got Skye in the shower. The phone rang and it was Lynn calling from the gift shop. She said the CM said they had an EMT on staff and asked if I wanted the EMT come up and see if he could help. In the meantime she hadn't found much in the way of bandages in the gift shop but she did find some medical tape. I had a small first aid kit with some gause(sp) in my Mary Poppins bag, but didn't have any way to get the gause to stick to my legs. I told her to buy the tape.
Lynn arrived before the EMT and started getting ready for the day. A knock on the door and it was a very young and very hot looking guy with a little fanny pack. He had two little bandaids in his hand. "Does someone here need a bandaid?" he asked. My mind flashed back to a XXX movie my then husband brought home and began to let my mind wander a bit until...."Nana, Nana. I can't get these tangles out of my hair." woke me from my erotic day dream. Back to reality, I told Mr. Hot But Worthless EMT I didn't think a bandaid was going to do it and proceeded to tell him what condition my condition was in. From his fanny pack he produced some antibiotic ointment which I already had. I thanked him for his time and showed him to the door. I paused a moment then poked my head around the door and watched him leave. "Hate to see you go, but love to watch you leave!" No, I didn't say it.
I took a shower (not a cold one) and did my best to tape the gause to my wounds, put on some nice soft knit capris, and we left for Epcot around 11am. There would be no walking to Epcot this morning, we took the boat. I rented a ECV or scooter at the international gateway...it cost me $40 but I'd have paid $80. We still had the FastPasses for Test Track that they'd given us a couple days ago when we tried to ride and it broke, but I didn't know if they were still good or not. We got to TT and they let us through with the Fast Passes. I wrecked the scooter twice trying to make the sharp turns in the queue.
Once even getting my scooter wedged between some bars. I finally sort of got the hang of it and got to take my first ever ride on Test Track. It was fun. We did a couple more things in Future World then headed to World Showcase. We still needed to see the countries on the Mexico side and we had a lunch PS at San Angel Inn.
On the way, we decided to stop at the first aid station to see what they had in the way of bangages as the ones I'd pieced together that morning weren't sticking. They were VERY nice in there and fixed me up with all kinds of stuff. The best thing was these fishnet looking tubes I was able to pull up on my thighs to hold the bandages in place. Between the stuff I got from first aid and the ECV I was back in business....well sort of.
We had a strange lunch at San Angel Inn. I'd mentioned to the waiter that he was the same waiter that we'd had in October. He was very friendly after that and offered to send me the recipe for the dish I was having. I said great and gave him my address. After that he got really frisky and ended up kissing me and Lynn both on the mouth...yuck. When we left we were both sort of stunned and didn't know whether to laugh or complain. We laughed it off, but now that I'm home I'm a tad worried about this guy having my address. We were wondering if this guy was trying to hook up with someone in hopes of getting his green card or something..... Hope nothing comes of it.
We ended up having just a wonderful day. The weather was great and we visited all the rest of the countries in WS that we hadn't visited yet. In Norway, there was a guy in the perfume shop autographing bottles of the perfume he'd created. The bottle is at home and I can't remember his name, but the perfume is Leila I think. Lynn & I both bought a bottle and he signed the back with a gold inked pen. Cool! Skye found a panda bear puppet in China and we ended up seeing the movie there.
After we'd seen all the countries we bid Epcot goodbye as it would be the last time we'd see it on our trip.
Back at the Boardwalk, we got cleaned up....I used my new bandages...and went to dinner at Flying Fish. Mikael was our waiter and he was a hoot. We told him about our waiter at San Angel Inn and he said we should report him. Our dinner was fantastic! AFterwards, we took a taxi to DTD. I told Lynn & Skye that I had a surprise for them on this night and it was tickets for Cirque! None of us had seen this show before and we all enjoyed it very much. I especially enjoyed is as it didn't involve walking very much! After the show we took a taxi back to Boardwalk and called it a night.
